House Republicans Publish Resolution Authorizing Biden Impeachment Inquiry
The vote on the resolution will likely happen next week.
The House Republicans unveiled a 14-page resolution authorizing the chamber to conduct an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden’s alleged corruption.
“Resolved, That the Committees on Oversight and Accountability, Ways and Means, and the Judiciary are directed to continue their ongoing investigations as part of the House of Representatives inquiry into whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its Constitutional power to impeach Joseph Biden, President of the United States of America, including as set forth in the memorandum issued by the Chairs of the Committees on Oversight and Accountability, Ways and Means, and Judiciary of the House of Representatives, entitled ‘Impeachment Inquiry’, dated September 27, 2023,” states the resolution.
The House Republicans have been investigating Biden’s alleged corrupt foreign business dealings with his son Hunter and brother James when he served as vice president.
The resolution details the authorities given to each committee. These include how to conduct hearings and who can release transcripts of depositions.
Rep. Kelly Armstrong’s (R-ND) resolution gives subpoena power to Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY), Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), and Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO).
The Committee on Rules will meet next Tuesday. The Republicans want “to formalize their effort to strengthen their legal standing after the WH told them their subpoenas and investigation were not legitimate without one.”

The vote to proceed with the impeachment inquiry will likely happen next week.
Biden told a Washington Post that the accusations are “a bunch of lies.”
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson claimed Biden “lied again” because they have “at least 22 examples of Joe Biden speaking with or meeting with Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates.”
Jordan said this morning: “We know he had dinners, phone calls and meetings because Hunter Biden’s business partner, Devin Archer, has already testified under oath and told us that. So for him to say that didn’t take place just makes absolutely no sense.”

Breaking News: Hunter was just indicted by a grand jury in the Central District of California
He now has a perfect excuse to not testify to congress. Then the charges can be dropped at a later convenient time.
Abbe Lowell can try that maneuver, but do you think they want to run the risk of Hunter being held in contempt of Congress?
The Resolution to formalize the inquiry will not pass. There are enough Vichy Republicans to guarantee it.
Subotai Bahadur
Likely. The GOP just caved on the NDAA with the usual “compromise” of getting nothing.
This is the ugliest election in ?150? years. A sitting president indicted by the House on corruption charges, and a former president indicted for fomenting a coup, and multiple business frauds.
THIS is hardball politics, kids.
Because we know more. Not because more is happening.
