The Tea Party movement has more in common with the hacktivist community than either side wants to admit.
That common ground is not expansive. The Tea Party movement certainly is not Occupy or anarchist, and the Occupy crowd is not singing the praises of the Founding Fathers and adherence to the Constitution. And not all of the hactivist community is “Anonymous” or similar. My prior post was directed more at the Aaron Swartz’s of the world than at the Anonymous’s of the world.
There may be some further proof of what I was saying in that some members of the Anonymous hacker group appear — and I stress “some members” and “appear” — to have come out against attempts by the government to infringe 2nd Amendment rights. I thought the news might be a hoax, and still am suspicious, but an Anonymous related Twitter account seems to confirm it.

The international hacktivist group Anonymous today warned of “insurrection in America” as the government controls and twists the narrative on gun-related incidents.
Known for the Guy Fawkes masks worn at protests, Anonymous has styled itself as an anti-authority crusader against government corruption and lack of transparency, and supported the Occupy protests. And now the hackers are stepping into the gun control debate, warning in a lengthy message today that “throughout history authoritarian governments have used gun violence as an excuse to take peoples firearms and control there population.”
“Obama has been working hard to try and ban semi-automatic weapons and shotguns while at the same time increasing the weapons and firepower that police and government agencies have. Within minutes of the Connecticut shooting, politicians were on the state run media saying it was time to get rid of the guns and they will be talking about it for weeks to come,” Anonymous wrote on its blog. “The Obama administration and his government funded media have been promoting this idea for months. Everytime there is a shooting performed by a crazy person the media talks about it non-stop for weeks or months. But when there is an illegal or unlawful shooting by police that does not fit Obama’s agenda the story is barely mentioned.”

Except there is video and audio showing a girl dragged by two athletes who have been identified. There is also tape of the kids involved saying despicable things about the girl and admitting to the rape. It’s not just the story of the victim. It’s the proof on the tape which, apparently, one of the rapists posted either to his facebook page or to youtube.

You cannot watch the video of Michael Nodianos joking about the ongoing rape of the girl and come away thinking that a rape was not occuring while that clown is talking. He repeatedly calls it a rape…she is sodomized and the urinated on…sorry but I have 2 daughters and if that happened to one of mine then everyone who had knowledge of it and didn’t stop it would be guilty in my court of law.
I have personally stopped what was going to be a rape so I have seen this sort of crap in action.
When Palin mentioned “crony capitalism” in her Indianola speech most commentators overlooked it because they still want to pigeon hole her as a right wing airhead. Yet they only had to look at her record in Alaska (and the enemies she gained there) to realise that she is no friend of those huge corporations who lobby their ways into govt contacts both in the UK and US, greasing the palms of targeted and getting special treatment in return.
Now it is not unusual for a conservative to be suspicious of cartels and rigged markets and restrictive laws so it’s possible for there to be, at times, a meeting of minds between libertarians and anarchists. So, if Anon is also sniffy about gun control proposals I don’t see why they should be rebuffed.

I am [mostly] anonymous and a staunch Second Amendment supporter. I recognize that necessary to the security of a free State, and, in following, the security of a free people, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
I recognize that while legal proscriptions do increase risk for law-abiding citizens, they do not infringe upon a criminal to act, especially to commit murder.
I recognize that only the initial responder (i.e. potential victim), is capable of preserving their life and property before losing one or both. That the initial response should immediately increase risk to the criminal and opportunity cost for carrying out an act of involuntary exploitation.
That said, as criminals are held accountable, as government agents are held accountable, so too should private citizens be held accountable when demonstrating poor judgment in the defense of life and property. With power comes responsibility.
Anonymous and the anti-globo/anarchist folks are pretty big on rights; not so much on responsibility. The Tea Party is pretty much the bourgeoisie. They intersect in a suspicion of the rulers, not so much on property rights.

What about Anon hacking the surveillence tapes of the gunman entering the school in Conn. Don’t want to see the shootings just want to see what he is carrying…
Also wouldn’t it be fantastic to get medical information regarding the shooter? What sort of meds was he taking?
Not sure what happened to my first comment where I asked that Anonymous find the surveillence video at the Conn. School and release just the portion that shows the shooter entering the school. Given the conspiracy theories floating around it would be educational to see with our own eyes what sort of weapons he carried into the school.

I would prefer to stay as far away from Anonymous as possible. Anarchy is not my thing and quite frankly, their tactics terrorize. On-line lynch mobs, secure data published, personal lives ruined – all this & more in the name of some goal they deem to be noble? Makes my blood run cold.
Who has been lynched? Have you been keeping up with the Steubenville rape?
Perhaps Anonymous will be the exception, due to their defining anonymity which slows the process, but historically just about every subversive organization gets co-opted from within sooner or later, usually to be forced toward a greater anarchic existence, doing increasingly ugly things.
