Iranian Regime Criticizes Removal of Ilhan Omar From Foreign Affairs Committee.
“Ousting IlhanOmar [sic] black Muslim& critic of Israeli #Apartheid from a House Committee indicates practical commitment of US to motto of #women, life, freedom.”
Oh, look. After her removal from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the Iranian regime is sticking up for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
Yeah…Iran, don’t lecture the U.S. on women, life, and freedom. Get a mirror.
Parliamentary tyranny in US to boycott voice of critical congresswoman. Ousting IlhanOmar black Muslim& critic of Israeli #Apartheid from a House Committee indicates practical commitment of US to motto of #women, life, freedom.

Thus confirming that removing her is the right thing to do.
Birds of a feather…
A spokesperson for Iran was quoted saying, “Why are we paying her all that money if she can’t do our bidding in Foreign Affairs?”
Iran is upset because their main source of secret intelligence about US affairs dried up.
I always say, do the opposite of what
Jimmy CarterIran says and you can’t go wrong. If she appears in Tehran in that getup, then what?
It’s nice to know she has the full support and backing of Iran. Another feather in her foreign muslim affairs cap.
Committee or not, Omar still has a high level security clearance. Iranian officials would be wise to keep quiet.
The clearance is both a status symbol and something traded on by former elected officials, their staff and retired high ranking military officers.
All should be clearance-stripped upon retirement.
Then it’s time to strip Omar, Swalwell, Pelosi, Schiff, Schumer of their “high level security clearance” as they certainly don’t need access to that kind of information any longer.
I agree. The clearance should be canceled when an individual no longer has a “need to know.”
Democrats and republicans, intelligence community officials and military.
In practice, that’s the way clearances work anyway. You can’t walk into the “classified fileroom” just because you have a clearance. You can only work with material relevant to programs you’ve been assigned to work on.
All a clearance really means is that you’re safely available “for hire” to someone who needs work done on classified stuff. At one of my employers, I knew technicians who were “cleared to” work at the agency that dare not speak its name, in case they were needed (like, the permanent guy got sick or dead) but never actually got called up.
As for where one can access, it depends on the level of clearance, and for US citizens there are three – Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret (TS), and within the TS clearance there is TS-SCI. We used to joke that TS-SCI was “tippetty top secret.” In my entire career with the State Dept (Foreign Service, i.e. Diplomatic corps) I had clearance for access to anywhere in the USG, though of course I had to have a legitimate reason to be there. And to get that TS clearance the vetting process (at least at State) was rigorous.
Clearances for Members of Congress (MoC) is a different kettle of fish, and whatever clearance Omar had to serve on this committee needed to go as soon as she was booted. However, I’m unfamiliar with vetting for an MoC; I only know that is different than for a diplomat, and that it is, sadly, less rigorous.
I had a secret-level security clearance when working for a silicon valley defense contractor. Most of the other people had confidential.
Somebody call the WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULANCE
“Iranian Regime Criticizes Removal of Ilhan Omar From Foreign Affairs Committee.”
Hey guys, you want her? She’s yours.
Now you put her on YOUR foreign affairs committee. Or ANY committee.
We’ll wait.
Wow! Having Iran back you is almost as bad as having Joe Biden endorse you.
If Iran likes her in govt so much, at what point does she have to register as a foreign agent?
