House Removes Ilhan Omar From Foreign Affairs Committee

House Removes Ilhan Omar From Foreign Affairs Committee

Democrats scream racism and white supremacy.

https://youtu.be/MzQMwHZVyIs

The House of Representatives passed a resolution along party lines removing Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from the Foreign Affairs Committee over anti-Semitic posts.

Omar and her sidekicks screamed racism and white supremacy:

The resolution was approved in a 218-211 vote after a heated debate in which Democrats accused Republicans of racism and hypocrisy and claimed that the GOP is only policing Democrats for questionable behavior. Omar and several other Democrats openly accused Republicans of racism.

“I am Muslim, I am an immigrant, and interestingly, from Africa,” Omar said. “Is anyone surprised that I am being targeted? Is anyone surprised that I am somehow deemed unworthy to speak about American foreign policy, or that they see me as a powerful voice that needs to be silenced?”

Members of The Squad put on some dramatic performances on the floor.

When the left opened the can of worms they were told it would come back to bite them.

Not enough. She was removed only from this one committee, and for good cause.

From the WSJ:

Mr. McCarthy has denied that ousting Ms. Omar or the other Democrats was retaliation for the last Congress, when Democrats removed two Republican members from committees. He said that the removals weren’t “tit for tat” and that the intelligence and foreign affairs panels were particularly sensitive.

That is true, but it means this move is completely insufficient. There should be tit for tat. There needs to be open and explicit retaliation. At least two Democrats and better four — including Omar — should be removed from all committees, for no other reason then that they’ve said things we find particularly offensive, and we are playing by the rules the Dems set two years ago.

Then offer them a deal, that if they agree in advance and in writing to a rule that the minority party, whichever one it is, is entitled to assign whichever members it likes to its designated committee seats, and the majority cannot veto those assignments without sufficient cause, then the Rs will adopt that rule as of the next congress, on Jan-3-2025. But they have to agree before anyone has a clue how the 2024 elections will go, and thus who will control the next House.

She is not really pro-American. So, she could hurt the country on that committee.

Milhouse in reply to MattMusson. | February 2, 2023 at 3:11 pm

That is my point. Removing her from that committee makes sense even without the Greene/Gosar removal, so it does not punish the Dems for that removal, and does nothing to ensure that they will not repeat it the next time they have the majority.

      “She is not really pro-American.”

      1. Concerning our military servicemen, she said, “The US military is equal to the taliban.”

      2. Concerning the 9/11 terrorists, she said, “Somebody did something.”

      3. Concerning Ilhan Omar, I say, “Go to hell.”

Yes, the reason should be explicit and the decision unwavering. That said, a religion for people capable of self-moderation. Competing interests to mitigate progress of others running amuck.

Paula in reply to Milhouse. | February 2, 2023 at 3:17 pm

Omar said, “Is anyone surprised that I am being targeted?”

She wasn’t removed. She was “targeted.” It’s a chore trying to keep up with the new vocabulary.

Milhouse in reply to Paula. | February 2, 2023 at 3:21 pm

She was targeted for removal from this committee. Nobody else has been removed from a committee by a House vote. Yet. Let’s wait and see whether anyone else is so removed. I have a little list.

BierceAmbrose in reply to Milhouse. | February 2, 2023 at 3:30 pm

    Yeah, that.

No tellin how close to that The Feckless R’s will actually get. Sad.

jimincalif in reply to Milhouse. | February 2, 2023 at 6:38 pm

Exactly, what’s wrong with some good old fashioned payback? The Dems won’t hesitate to do it again when they can.

Even if it was retaliation, it’s way past time the dems get the same schiff they pull slammed back into their faces. Screw them and the slave plantation they’re running.
And this is the real aoc speech from twitter. Perfectly catches her real meaning.

Ilhan Omar is a vile antisemite and anti-American. So this is a good day 🤗

I still think she (and Swallwell) are particularly suited for a committee about affairs with foreigners.

Not one dem Jew voted to kick her out. Who knew? If Mac really wanted to do something – shoulda tried to rig things to put the the whole squad on the committee. Sure Nadler., Schiff , Col Sanders, Raskin, etc would be totally down with it.

She forgot to say “I married my brother.”

She got stompy feet

Watching Tlaib cry brings joy, especially when remembering back to her smug hate.

EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT lined up to support her.

Every.

Single.

One.

And yet idiots still have this fantasy that there are ‘moderate’ Democrats that we can work with.

Milhouse in reply to Olinser. | February 2, 2023 at 3:19 pm

This was a party unity thing, so they all fell in line because they’re party members. There are moderate members who are willing to work with Republicans on specific legislation.

Stuytown in reply to Milhouse. | February 3, 2023 at 1:28 am

Yes. But it was apparently also a party unity thing when the Dems failed to censure her for antisemitism and instead censured “all racism,” including Islamophobia. Nancy Pelosi appointed Omar to this committee and then promoted her. In other words, the Dems are on board with Omar. The Dems in Committee also voted against the Trump nomination of Kenneth Marcus, a highly qualified Jew, because until his nomination he had focused on fighting antisemitism and BDS.

henrybowman in reply to Olinser. | February 2, 2023 at 4:09 pm

Sure there are. Lindsey Graham. Mitt Romney. Susan Collins.

She should chair the Brotherly Affairs Committee.

Diversity [dogma] (i.e. color judgment, class-based bigotry) breeds adversity. DIE is an unsustainable ethical religious doctrine and not a viable policy in civilized society.

Well deserved, but not enough. She’s a terrorist sympathizer and should be booted from the House and investigated for immigration fraud regarding her marriage to her brother.

Milhouse in reply to Othniel. | February 2, 2023 at 3:15 pm

She can’t be booted from the House, for two reasons:

    1. It would take a 2/3 vote, which is just not possible

    2. While the constitution’s text doesn’t say so, Congress has for well over a century taken the view that it can only expel a member for an offense that was committed during that term. The Supreme Court, while carefully avoiding expressing an opinion on this view, explicitly noted that this was Congress’s the long-established view, which it is unlikely to renounce lightly.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | February 2, 2023 at 4:12 pm

Conversely, the constitution doesn’t protect a “sitting member” for crimes committed before her time in office… so she can still be “independently” investigated for immigration fraud, and if convicted, lose her citizenship. Then the House’s course is predetermined.

Milhouse in reply to henrybowman. | February 2, 2023 at 4:50 pm

No member is protected from prosecution for crimes committed, whether during or before their time in office, unless they were committed as part of performing their congressional duties.

But no, even if she is convicted of immigration fraud she cannot lose her citizenship. She obtained it legitimately, so it makes no difference what crimes she committed later. She can go to prison, but she can’t lose her citizenship involuntarily. That has been the Supreme Court’s view since at least the 1950s.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | February 3, 2023 at 2:27 am

I’m trying to figure out how one attains citizenship BEFORE immigrating.

          Virginia42 in reply to Milhouse. | February 3, 2023 at 8:41 am

I thought her fradulent marriage to her brother was part of the basis for her immigration status–that would invalidate the process, would it not? Although you seem to be saying it would not necessarily be the case.

No wonder we are in such bad shape.

      Gremlin1974 in reply to Milhouse. | February 2, 2023 at 7:29 pm

Yea, if they didn’t “impose” those restrictions then there would never be a congress that wasn’t short at least 50 or so of the opposing party.

        Milhouse in reply to Gremlin1974. | February 2, 2023 at 8:37 pm

Not true. It takes 2/3, so that would only happen in the rare case that a party had that. In those rare cases, if not for this interpretation, the majority could just expel the entire opposition, but why would it want to?

The committee she is most qualified for is the Committee on Sibling Marriages and Incestual Relationships.

Milhouse in reply to Paula. | February 2, 2023 at 3:17 pm

Her “marriage” to her brother was not incestuous, because it was a sham. The exact reason they did it is not definitely known, but immigration fraud is a plausible explanation, and I can’t think of another one.

Paula in reply to Milhouse. | February 2, 2023 at 3:26 pm

That was a typo. I was speaking of the Committee on Sibling Marriages and Sham Relationships.

gonzotx in reply to Milhouse. | February 2, 2023 at 4:47 pm

How do you know it was sex-less?

      You in her bedroom?

Milhouse in reply to gonzotx. | February 2, 2023 at 4:52 pm

Because it was a sham marriage. They didn’t have a bedroom. Or a home. Throughout this “marriage” she continued to live with her real husband, whom she had purportedly divorced. She even continued to file joint income tax returns with her real husband.

Off the committee. Now do out of the USA.

Milhouse in reply to Whitewall. | February 2, 2023 at 3:18 pm

Not possible. She’s a US citizen, so she can’t be deported. And since she obtained her citizenship legitimately, it can’t be revoked without her consent.

Milhouse, what about the former Nazi Military who lost their U.S. citizenship and were deported to Germany or some other European country? If I remember correctly, Omar was a member of a prominent Somali family that was accused of war crimes and she has ties to Somali terrorist groups.

        Milhouse in reply to BillB52. | February 2, 2023 at 6:52 pm

There have been several former nazis who were discovered to have obtained naturalization by fraud, which means their purported naturalizations were invalid. They didn’t lose their citizenship, they were discovered never to have had it in the first place, exactly as if it had been discovered that someone forged a US birth certificate and was really born somewhere else. Or like that ISIS woman whose claim to US citizenship was found to be invalid because although she was born in the USA, her father was a diplomat at the time., so she was not born subject to US jurisdiction. Obviously if someone was never a US citizen then they’re still not one, and can be deported.

But there is no question that Omar obtained her citizenship legally. Nobody has ever raised any question about her naturalization, and there’s no reason to suspect anything wrong with it. Even if we were to discover that she told some lie on her application it would be immaterial, because there is no conceivable reason why she would have been ineligible. Her family is completely irrelevant, and no, she has no known connection to any terrorist group.

Fat_Freddys_Cat | February 2, 2023 at 3:27 pm

The Democrats obviously didn’t learn their lesson when the ending of filibusters for Supreme Court nominees was turned around to bite them.

Notice how all of the communist traders lined up right behind that antisemite

BierceAmbrose | February 2, 2023 at 3:37 pm

Well, now they should all be put in time out.

What will they do when the tantrums stop working — are they as grown-up at 2-year-olds?

So tired of this leftist identity politics “I’m the victim” bullsh*t.

BierceAmbrose | February 2, 2023 at 4:05 pm

It’s The Feckless R’s, so I really don’t hope. BUT, in Bizarro World, there’s a bill of particulars in the bill. (Resolution, I know, but gimmie a break, it’s funny), tagginig each potentially impeachable item just for fun. Maybe an orange toupe imogi. AND the whole caucus would have the response patter, framed from their PoV.

Like, you never start by objecting, or defending yourself: “No, it’s not about her being an ambisexual walnut…”

The People of The Apparatus are not honest brokers, including, especially The Screaming D’s and their flying monkeys. Their question is always to keep you on the point that’ll dirty you up for the audience. If they’re lucky, they’ll get you to say something they can misquote, misinterpret or misrepresent. Stay on your point. And your goal is to look measured, reasonable and compelled by unfortunate necessity, while making them look reactive and dumb.

BierceAmbrose in reply to BierceAmbrose. | February 2, 2023 at 4:11 pm

    Like this, but better…

“Thank you for asking. It’s a shame we had to do this, and more so that none of our Screaming D colleagues joined us. So, something good did come of their recent abuses of decorum and convention in the house; allowed us overcome them putting party unity over issues, as they usually do. (Sad.)”

    “!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Oh, if you read the resolution, you’ll see the inventory of anti-US actions, with footnotes; particularly noting those touching on foreign policy. She can’t be on that committee, and attack the US with other countries while in her official capacity as a US Representative. There may be criminal violations from sedition to the Mann act — of course the DoJ decides what they’re gong to prosecute.”

    “!!!!!!”

“Oh, no. It’s a shame it ever got this far. The Screaming D’s should have removed her themselves, after this statement, that chumming up, the other malfeasance.”

    “!!!!!!!!”

“Oh, this is official govt action. Whatever I may feel personally about siblings marrying that you mentioned, it’s not my role in congress to decide on that basis. Indeed, for some things I even have to push back at my constituents to say it’s not govt’s place to do that; or not the federal govt.”

    Etc.

AOC engages in comedic performance art to support bigots. Brings tears of joy to the eyes.

Well if no one else is going to say it.
“Bye, Felicia”

It’s not like Omar was voted off the island.
Nanzi made the rules, live by them

Sanctimonious Democrats, including Omar herself. Perfect human beings here by self-proclamation to protect and save the rest of us.

Schadenfreude reigns in The House. This is my happy face.

Now Mr. McCarthy do Tlaib who has said just a vile and hateful stuff as Omar.

AOC: “A member of the Republican caucus THREATENED MY LIFE!”
Drama-queen, snowflake LIAR.
A representative pasted her face over a cartoon villain’s face in an anime clip.
“Threatened her life.” Blow me.

IMO we all should have a concern about Muslims in political office. Remember that Islam means total submission to Allah’s will with never any action that would oppose the dictates of that will/religion. Allegiance is total. Islam, unlike Christianity, does not recognize separation of religion and state. Living under a caliph is the ideal per Islam.

I understand that a Muslim cannot be prohibited from running for public office but can one trust a person swearing in on a Qur’an that is highly antithetical to our Constitutional freedoms & values?

Then there’s the issue of the swearing of an oath by a Muslim. In the Christian tradition it means calling on God to witness the very words said. Not so for Muslims for whom it’s just a matter of their intention.

The doctrine of Taqiyya says deception is sometimes permitted, even required.

A viable system of self-government has work even with dishonest brokers, as well as bad actors, opportunists and grifters. We’re testing whether we have a system that robust — interesting times.

She should put a HOME DEPOT logo on that orange turban, and maybe she’ll get some advertising fee money.

If she were Adolph Hitler the Dems would vote to keep him on the foreign affairs committee. They are like lemmings and will vote in lockstep no matter the issue. They are the ones who laughed at the R’s for their challenge to McCarthy’s election to speaker. In reality, they are fools who never question anything.

Omar the Rug Lady needs a one way ticket for a Broomstick ride back to her satanic babylonian homeland…
