Democrats in Georgia Senate Runoffs Are Hauling in Record Amounts of Cash

Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, the two Democrat candidates in the Georgia runoff elections for U.S. Senate, are swimming in cash.
If either one of them loses, it certainly won’t be for a lack of campaign funds.

Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock shattered fundraising records by hauling in more than $100 million each in the past two months, significantly outraising GOP Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in the final stretch of the two Georgia Senate races that will decide control of the chamber next month.
The massive fundraising for the two Democrats was driven largely by small-dollar donations, continuing the pattern this year of the party’s Senate candidates tapping into online donors across the country to fund their challenger campaigns, although Democrats underperformed expectations in November despite the fundraising edge.
Ossoff became the best-funded Senate candidate in history, hauling in $106.8 million in two months. The Democrat spent $93.5 million from Oct. 15 through Dec. 16, and ended that period with $17.5 million in the bank for the closing weeks of the runoff.
Perdue, his opponent, raised $68 million over the same time period. The Republican spent nearly $58 million and had $16 million in the bank.
Warnock outraised Loeffler by a significant margin as well.
You may remember that when Jon Ossoff ran for Senate back in 2017, tons of cash flowed into Georgia from other states, particularly California. That’s happening again.

With early voting well underway and both sides expecting extremely close races, record amounts of money continue to pour into Georgia’s twin Senate runoff campaigns, including a large chunk of cash from donors in California, new Federal Election Commission filings show.
The two Democratic candidates, Jon Ossoff and the Rev. Raphael Warnock, shattered all-time fundraising records over the last two months. Their Republican opponents, Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, respectively, hold a financial edge, however, thanks to outside Republican groups that can raise massive sums mostly unconstrained by federal campaign laws.
Much of that outside money comes from donors whose identities remain undisclosed…
All four candidates have raised much of their money out of state, with California the largest source.
Let’s not kid ourselves. A significant portion of this California cash is coming from the entertainment industry.

If you remember, several Hollyweird production companies stopped doing films in Georgia because of their laws on social/moral issues. The money coming from them now is to overturn those laws and morals.
Don’t even know why they need all that money, it isn’t like Raffensperger has closed the l̶o̶o̶p̶h̶o̶l̶e̶s̶ highways he gave the Socialist/Communist Party to make it easier to steal the election.

One of the important steps in returning our elections to any resemblance of integrity to our elections is to limit campaign contributions to individuals, (no PAC’s or corporations), and to further limit them to the citizens who are the constituency of the individual running for office. No out of state, county, or country contributions allowed and if any are detected, then it is immediate disqualification of that candidate for that office. Furthermore, on all issues affecting taxation, voting should be limited to those who pay the taxes. This is especially true in school board elections but really should be implemented for all taxation votes.
For the last half century (and likely more) it has been true that we Americans have spent more on various chips (potato, corn, etc.) than on elections. The biggest problem isn’t the money in elections it is an uninformed, and uninterested in being informed, electorate. This is what allows the MSM and “Big Tech” to pull off making theft of the election so easy. IF there weren’t sufficient votes to get within the “margin of fraud”, there would be no theft of the elections. But getting those votes isn’t all that hard with people who don’t bother to pay attention and won’t spend a minute of time and effort to find out the facts involved in the election and what the various candidates actually plan to do if elected.
It has always escaped me why people who do not live a certain state or district are allowed to donate or contribute funds to candidates in places they do not live or reside.
Non-US citizens are prohibited from contributing to US candidates. Why, then, can someone in California, or any other state, contribute to a candidate or election in Georgia?

So, a foreign government or potentate can contribute to any US election campaign or candidate? The King of Saudi Arabia does not live in the US, but certainly has an interest in the affairs of the US. Why can he not give money. Why is his “freedom of speech” trampled upon? The reason is rather straight forward. The representatives of the people should be beholden to the people they represent, not some external interest. This is hardly a call for dictatorship, but rather the opposite. It is a suggestion to help ensure the representatives represent the people in their country, state, county, city, town, or district, and are not beholden to some external entity.
Shame on you on for your unwarranted hyperbole. You could at a minimum attempt to back up your assertion with some form of argument. I am willing to have reasonable discussions on all issues. Or, I can be wholly unreasonable and tendentious in like manner.
Because they have the God-given and constitution-protected right to. Aliens who live in the USA can contribute. Aliens living in their own countries have the same God-given right, but the law gets away with violating that right because the supreme court says that the constitution only protects “US persons”, i.e. citizens, residents, and people who are physically here.
Is there not a prohibition against foreign donations? Would it not extend to foreigner, be they tourists, diplomats or illegals, from donating or otherwise participating in our elections?

My point is as soon as someone is described as left wing that is conflated to being communist or socialist. Progressive policies and socialist policies are not the same thing.

There are plenty of left wing policies that don’t impact on individual freedoms. Having a larger state doesn’t implicitly mean you lose freedoms, it can increase freedoms to an extent. If suggest for example that the USA has a culture of pretending to be equal. The reality is that a large amount of the power and freedom (economically speaking) is invested in a ever smaller group of people. The freedoms they enjoy by having private health care, private tutors, contacts with business and other social advantages are born from right wing free market policies. If you take some left wing examples such as a modest increase in taxation to provide health care for all on an equal footing that doesn’t restrict freedoms that increases it. Since if you are I’ll for whatever reasons you aren’t automatically fucked unlike the American system. So respectfully I’d disagree.
Taxation by definition restricts freedom, by taking away people’s resources. It’s one of the greatest restrictions of freedom that can be.

I sure wish I could exchange all of the snail mail flyers, text messages and political calls for some of that cash. I could retire. Every day I get at least 4 flyers in the mailbox, my cellphone or house phone rings every 30 minutes with a phone call or text message. I have unplugged the house phone and let every call go to voicemail. On my cell I am blocking at least 10 numbers a day. It is crazy. Did you know political calls are exempt from the Do Not Call Registry?
Yes, THEY always seem surprisingly to exempt themselves. I knew because I was getting 20 calls a day from the RNC when my husband was dying two years ago. I Told them, begged them to stop. They didn’t. Resolved then: never another dime for any of them, and I’ve kept to it. Let them finance their own careers without me.

As if it is not bad enough that all the yankee liberal interlopers and carpet baggers are transplanting here from the north, we now have too many liberals from CA spending far too much time here due to the filming tax credits.
One candidate in N. GA ran on a platform that included repealing the film tac credit to get rid of the liberals and I donated money to him for that reason. I would love to see the GA Gen. Assembly tell them all to kiss off by repealing the tax credit, but it has gotten more difficult to do that due to an ironic development stemming from a surprising series of acquisitions of interest in a studio.
Now, get this: liberal apostates, atheists, heretics, and homophiles launched a protest, smear campaign, and boycott against Chik-Fil-A because Dan Cathy was against same sex marriage, marriage to a goat, and other perversions and donated personal and family money accordingly.
But guess who has been buying up interest in studios in GA?

With big money conservatives like the Cathy family making investments in the studio business, I don’t see how we can get terminate the tax credit.
How can they lose? If the courts won’t stop the vote fraud machine that took out Trump they won’t give a second thought to it taking out both GA Senators.
