Mark Robinson of “I’m the Majority” Fame Wins GOP Nomination for Lt. Governor in North Carolina

“The majority of people in this city are law abiding,” Robinson told council members, “and they follow the law and they want their constitutional right to bear arms.”

Mark Robinson became a sensation when a video of him defending the rights of law-abiding gun owners at the Greensboro, North Carolina city council meeting went viral in 2018.

He just won the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor in the state.

Once Robinson decided to run for office, he became a hit with grassroots conservatives. That support translated at the polls last week.

The Associated Press reports, via the Greensboro News and Record:

Political newcomer Mark Robinson of Greensboro wins GOP nomination for lieutenant governor

A former factory worker and day care operator whose gun rights speech before the Greensboro City Council in 2018 vaulted him to prominence among conservatives won the Republican nomination for North Carolina’s lieutenant governor on Tuesday in a crowded field.

First-time candidate Mark Robinson also exceeded the 30% threshold needed to win outright and avoid a runoff…

Robinson’s 2018 recorded speech before the Greensboro council went viral, making him a nationwide speaker.

“The majority of people in this city are law abiding,” Robinson told council members, “and they follow the law and they want their constitutional right to bear arms.

“I am the majority! A law-abiding citizen who’s never shot anybody, never committed a serious crime, never committed a felony!

“I’ve never done anything like that, but it seems like every time we have one of these shootings, nobody wants to put the blame where it goes, which is at the shooter’s feet. You want to put it at my feet!”

Robinson has said that he didn’t know exactly what he was going to say when he attended the city council meeting that night, which makes this all the more amazing. I have watched this repeatedly. If you have never seen it, watch the whole thing now. You won’t be disappointed:

Robinson was eventually invited to speak at the NRA-ILA convention. Last year, I posted a clip of his speech to Twitter. Watch this to the very end. Trust me:

Democrats have not yet settled on a candidate, but the race between Mark and that person will be decided on November 3rd.

It is imperative that we financially support strong advocates for our 2nd Amendment rights. I contributed to Mr. Robinson during the primary and donated again on Wednesday after he won. I urge others to help the cause. Some may say I am trying to buy atonement for the sins of my fellow Texan, Brother Beto, but I don’t believe in collective guilt. I do believe in helping citizens who stand up for our collective rights.

He makes me want to move back to N.C., wish the Conservatives had about a 100 more of him to run for office.

gonna send him some $$$$. Why don’t y’all do likewise.

Nice! A bit of feel good news for today.

Democrats have not yet settled on a candidate

What is it, like the Presidential candidates, they can’t decide which loser is the best loser?

    It’ll be some white guy.

If you read the article, you would have noted that Robinson got the 30% threshold needed to avoid a runoff. Obviously, that was not the case for the Dems, which is why they “haven’t settled on a candidate”.

Nevertheless, no doubt we both Robinson well and hope NC can get rid of “Landslide” Cooper.

From Mr. Robinson’s web site.

Mark Robinson is a true American Patriot. Born and raised in Greensboro, he grew up in an impoverished house as the 9th of 10 children. Experiencing alcoholism and witnessing domestic abuse first hand, Mark was able not only to survive, but thrive.

Mark served in the Army Reserves as a medical specialist, has worked in manufacturing, and owned a small business. He not only knows the people of North Carolina, he is North Carolina.

As Lieutenant Governor, Mark will:

Fight for the life of the unborn
End Indoctrination in schools
Defend the 2nd Amendment
Make NC the Gold standard for Veterans Care
Stand up for our Law Enforcement

For a guy who didn’t have any prepared remarks he was pretty doggone eloquent.

So the Democrats haven’t found a baby killing, white male hating trans pinko commie rat bastard global warming catastrophiliac to run yet?

He received my vote. Look forward to voting for him in the general.

I’m seeing interesting ads in this article. “Thank Obama for fighting to beat Trump in 2020”.

He is most certainly a breath of fresh air. We need far more like him.

He’s refreshing. So tiring to hear of “not going to apologize.” He never goes that route. He’s a good man and won’t take any guff about it.

Loved listening to him!

Meanwhile, in the Democrat race for the Senate, Schumer and the party chose Cal Cunningham, a white man, over Erica Smith, a black woman. Smith’s comment was that “for some reason” Sen. Schumer doesn’t want a black woman to run for the Senate. She may or may not be right about racism among Democrats here. But I wonder how many black voters will look at Robinson’s nomination and think twice about which party actually believes in “diversity.”

Mark Robinson: North Carolina Democrats’ worst friggin’ nightmare.

What a great story. I was happy to donate to Mr. Robinson’s campaign, twice. I congratulate him and look forward to his eventual (likely) election.

I recall that I poll I had seen had Mr. Robinson trailing his rivals, so, this is something of a come-from-behind victory. Citizen activism and empowerment at its finest.

I remember this speech he made right off the cuff and it was forceful. Congrats to him! Come November though, he will be up against a Dem politician. Mark will need to be up to speed on all other political matters pretty fast.
