Leftist Media in Complete Meltdown After Trump’s Acquittal Speech
“It was vindictive…it was mean-spirited, it was poisonous, it was spiteful.”
The Trump impeachment circus has packed up and left town. Wednesday, Trump was acquitted of both impeachment charges.
Thursday, Trump gave a public announcement to discuss the trial and acquittal. In true Trump form, it was a victory lap. And who can blame him? He was the subject of a political witch hunt, if ever there was one, and came out on the other end unscathed. This could not be worse for Democrats.
Trump is always just… Trump. Which is a quality the national media refuses to accept or tolerate. Naturally, they responded with claims of Hitler-era reminiscence, accusations of mental illness, and suggestions that Trump’s behavior is unpresidential — whatever that means.
A small sampling:
Hitler. Hitler is everywhere!
Just a little thread that is terrifyingly applicable to today. https://t.co/tzuXtLWBEy

Projection. Armchair psychoanalysis.
CNN's @JohnJHarwood on Trump's press conference:
“This was very disturbing for the country. It was dark because he's made clear that his mind is dark. This is somebody in deep psychological distress right now. Self-pitying, insecure, angry."pic.twitter.com/MKWzkqwI2p

Poor guy. He’s not the story this time.
This is like a press conference except Trump is answering the questions he wishes reporters would ask.
— Jim Acosta (@Acosta) February 6, 2020
It's not quite true that Trump has never behaved this way during public remarks. This is how he sounded at Trump Tower after Charlottesville.

“Vindictive.” “Angry.” “Rambling.”
President Trump emerged vindictive and angry at a rambling event on Thursday meant to mark his impeachment acquittal. https://t.co/CT1HSJTIpV

Trump was subjected to a completely political smear job and he’s supposed to be happy about it all?
Now that Trump has completed his "F*** you – I'll do it again, & youre all scum for saying I shouldnt because I'm so great" speech, let's thank @senatemajldr and @LindseyGrahamSC for freeing the monster.
Prepare for foreign investigations announced of every democratic candidate.

At this point they just rename themselves the Projection Party.
Keiler, "You have been watching the President …. with an unscripted, vindictive, at times profane, angry, rambling response to his impeachment acquittal.

“Normal.” Should we talk about “normal” journalistic behavior, or nah?
The laughter. The smiles. The applause.
The idea that this is even within the realm of normal behavior for a president (or for anyone) is appalling.

It was exactly what Democrats deserve, no more, no less.
And when I say Democrats, that includes Mitt Romney.
Shades of “Dewey Defeats Truman”
I wouldn’t give Romney the honor of lumping him in with the Democrats. As despicable as they are they could at least say partisan political advantage is a reason. Romney has only spite.
Romney destroyed himself this week. Oh, he’ll be able to sit on the back bench of the Senate for 4 more years, no one can take that away from him. But he’ll never win another election again, I very much doubt he’ll ever run for election again. He’s done, and goes down in history as another Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords or Snarlin’ Arlen. Who remembers either of them now as anything but traitors?
They are barely remembered as even that.
Remind me why I hate the media?
Oh, that’s right. This stuff.
In case the speech itself didn’g get enough attention…
“It was vindictive…it was mean-spirited, it was poisonous, it was spiteful.”
This is a good description of the impeachment process. The left has no sense of irony and even less self-awareness.
Liberals better pray that Trump is not very vindictive. With his resources, think about how easy it would be to destroy these people, truly scum of the earth kinds of people.
Maybe not vindictive, but he has a duty to bring this scum infesting our government to justice.
(Insert my oft repeated “Barr is more useless than Sessions” rant here)
Because of the danger of Dems coming up with new Obstruction of Justice charges for any action taken while a case is being decided, almost everything *had* to wait until this entire Shampeachment was over.
Now look at how things are moving – Yovanovitch was finally fired from the State Department completely last Friday. Word is out that Vindman is being removed from the NSC today. This timing is not coincidental. The gears of the machine are finally starting to turn.
Maybe. But I think they’re just liars.
“… accurate.”
The corporate media cannot be reformed. Their business model has changed and delivering the news to a target audience has replaced informing the public. It is up to each of us to find alternative news sources to replace them, including ones that you disagree with. If you still depend on them to stay informed you will only know what they want you to know.
Their business model never was informing the public. It’s always been delivering a target audience to their advertisers.
I agree with you. I just can’t remember them being so blatnat about it. And I’m an old lady and can who’s first vote was cast for JFK.
There’s only problem I see with that argument, why are they all chasing the same narrow demographic and watching their ratings tank, while Fox continues to easily beat them in ratings?
If it was truly a market-directed play, at least one of them would try to tap into Fox’s audience.
I think the ideological bent of the owners keeps them on the left, even if it hurts their business
“Prepare for foreign investigations announced of every democratic candidate.”
Perhaps you would prefer the FISA court and FBI carry out the “investigation?”
I didn’t know they were all as corrupt as Biden.
Imagine how much money has spent on high dollar attorneys? Trump has a million dollars worth of pissed-off anger to contend with.
In the redux, it all leads right back to Satan’s favorite Clinton family. Pelosi’s role in the story is less than that of a madame operating an escort service.
The uptick is that many very talented Senators, Representatives, Cabinet members and loyal staff have made an excellent showing while showing America just what detritus and trash malingers in the socialist party.
Haha, I wish that Trump had a bit more restraint, discernment and decorum. Elected office needed leadership and we got it. Trump does not give a flying F about his adversaries and I don’t blame him. He dealt with the sift and scum as is their due.
Payback can be a bitch and our vast right wing basket of deplorables will be delighted to enjoy another four years from the guy who knows how to get it.
Ther must be terrible consequences for the traitors behind the coup. All of them.
Barr is fiddling while DC burns
The President’s statements were aimed precisely at his foes in the Democrat party, the deep state, and the dinosaur media, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat party. They were a lot of things, but mostly ACCURATE!!
Indeed it was. That’s why the President had every right to trumpet his victory over it in an excellent speech.
In Trump’s America, bear baits you.
“It was vindictive…it was mean-spirited, it was poisonous, it was spiteful.”
And it was true.
Trump should be very apologetic for putting the American people through this trying time. He should apologize to the American people for not committing an offense that was blatantly impeachable. Had Trump done something so obviously impeachable it would have saved this country from these extensive and divisive past months.
The fact that Trump thought he had a right to defend himself in this impeachment demonstrates his placing himself above the country. That he was “acquitted” is an excellent reason to begin new impeachment proceedings. The future of our country depends on it.
Mr. Anchovy (classically trained professional journalist with the highest ethical standards)
For all of Trump’s foibles, unlike Eichenwald, I doubt he has ever looked up “Tentacle Porn”. Squidiot.
The “dirty cop” meme will stick and take down the whole dem enterprise. They’re all dirty cops, it’s visual, it’s clear, it’s simple, and they’re all entrusted with the law.
I am really looking forward to the election, and their next meltdown.
These leftists must have watched a different event than I did. He was upbeat and thanked the many people who worked to defeat this disgraceful political ploy.
Let ‘er rip, Mr. President – let ‘er rip!
Now Trump needs to revoke the security credentials of all the leakers who tried to sabotage his administration. He should start with the pseudo-whistleblower and the LtCol who wore his uniform to violate most of the rules governing military officers and the chain of command.
It looks like the DOJ is ready to clean it house of the rats who got the phony FISA warrants to spy on Trump’s campaign.
And what’s nice is the media had their journalists listen to the speech so we don’t have to! They’ll tell us what they heard – not what was actually said, but what they heard. Now we will know what to think!
Just doin’ their jobs!
Sarc/off
Funny thing is I didn’t hear the speech. But if it was, indeed, as the media has characterized it, then I approve!
And the White House just announced that another “austere religious scholar” was brought to justice.
More winning.
Corrupt malignant narcissts unmasked and not getting their way.
These are dangerous people, and capable of anything. Literally.
What the media, and the DC establishment, have never understood is that Trump is not a Republican ans is not beholden to the Establishment. He is not going to allow himself to be beaten upon by the Dems and not strike back. Now, it is beginning to dawn on them that he controls the federal bureaucracy and there will be repercussions. It is already starting with the Bidens. Can Pelosi survive an inquiry into her son’s dealings with Ukraine? How about Kerry? DC is a giant hog trough. The smart pols have already bailed. But, after this, it does not look as though even retired pols are safe.
There is an saying; “When you strike at a king, you must kill him” -Ralph Waldo Emerson. The Dems failed, now they reap the Trump whirlwind.
Paul Pelosi has no dealings with the Ukraine. Nor does Chris Heinz.
And Trump still doesn’t control the federal bureaucracy, and can’t just order investigations into whomever he likes. Even Clinton and 0bama couldn’t do that, but they could subtly make their wish known, and a bureaucracy eager to please them would “completely sua sponte” decide to investigate those people. That doesn’t happen with Trump.
If Trump had asked the FBI to look into Burisma it would have hit the headlines 10 minutes later and the Democrats would have been calling it an abuse of power.
And Mittens would vote to convict.
Indeed. The FBI has always been a Democrat bastion, and no Republican president has ever been able to trust it. Ditto for the CIA (notwithstanding the Democrat myth that the CIA has some sort of mysterious loyalty to the Bush family, just because Bush Sr was parachuted in as director for less than two years).
When the DEM-GOPe TRAITORS are getting their long overdue justice,
then it can’t be repercussions can it?
repercussions = an unintended consequence occurring some time after an event or action, especially an unwelcome one.

Dems have dragged this country down to this level. Not content to slowly stew the frog they decided scalding would be better.
Now they’re surprised someone understands the rules better than they do and plays the game with a skill they’ve never had.
I wish we could clone PDJT and run him forever. I’ve never enjoyed watching a President hammer the daylights out of democrats as I have now.
Cool President Trump video trolling the DEMS about just that.

Pelosi’s Ukraine Dilema, Her Son Worked On Board Of Gas Company
https://thefederalistpapers.org/opinion/pelosis-ukraine-dilema-son-worked-board-gas-company
The so-called “report” is BS. Paul Pelosi was a director of Viscoil, which no longer exists, and when it did exist it did no business in the Ukraine. He’s never been involved in NRGLab, which first did business (unrelated to energy) in the Ukraine long after it ate Viscoil and Pelosi was no longer involved.
Bet I can find a whistleblower that says that someone else told them that Pelosi said he was the architect behind corrupt gas dealings in the Ukraine.
Oh wait, I’m not a phony Dem.
You can find all sorts of people saying that, but it isn’t true.
I bet if someone did the analysis, they’d find a positive correlation between Trump’s approval ratings rising after the media ratchets up the adjectives trying to portray him as an unhinged monster.
If so, his approval ratings ought to go up another point or two now.
Who cares. A cage of harpies with the occasional racist black lending diversity to the screeching flock.
What we’re seeing here is a big crew of sociopaths being denied their narcissistic supply. Totally unhinged rage is the reaction.
Guess you know those psychopaths are naturally drawn to big organizations (which makes them feel oh so much bigger and more boastful).
Also the fact they are literally willing to murder and do every other crime (if they thing they can get away with it) explains how the claw their way up in organizations.
Everyone should re-tweet these President Trump tweets to all the Leftist!

4 years without letup (and they still haven’t apologized or relented yet for their conspiracy with those trying to destroy our process of power transfer) and they expect to be treated like as if it was a mild and passing misdemeanor to be excused in the interests of comity?
They’re Nucking Futz if they think they can mislead the public, attempt to destroy reputations (sometimes coming close to succeeding) and in general acted with partisan fervor with little regard to consequences and not be the mistrusted and despised by all of their previous targets.
They will rue the day they made the decision to cast themselves as the Democrat party and Resistance scribes and conspirators.
We hate Trump!
Trump is Hitler! He’s going to destroy the country!
We must remove Trump from office! Impeach him!
Gee, why is Trump so mean spirited and vindictive?
So let’s see. For the last three plus years the democrats and mainstream media have been vindictive, mean-spirited, and spiteful in their dealings with the Pres. Trump. So now that Pres. Trump has been acquitted he needs to treat the democrats and mainstream media politely and with respect? Screw that for a lark. The democrats and MSM got exactly what they deserved. And nothing less.
Over at Althouse she listened to the speech and thought it was a great team building exercise. Get ready troops and warriors, we’ve got a fight ahead of us. Thank you for what you’ve done already.
Sort of like lobbing a meadow muffin in the CNN/MSNBC punchbowl.
I listened to the speech twice. It wasn’t “spiteful” It was triumphant. It was a response to those who have hounded and harassed him from the moment he won the election.
I have never been a Trump fan, although I suspect I am becoming one, and I found the speech humorous, a bit hyperbolic, because that’s his thing, and a chance to thank all those who had helped him. Perhaps a vindication of his saying that he “hired only the best people.”
Someone was in deep “psychological distress ” now and it isn’t Trump.
Kenoshamarge, remember the DEMS and their owned Media started their vicious attacks as soon as he announced in 2015.
I saw a side of Trump at his noon speech yesterday that surprised me a little bit, and affected me a bit more.
I saw fatigue, both physical and emotional, disappointment at the political class especially those who were supposed to be in his own party, and I saw the pain of the backstabbing he had been getting for three years now as President. I’m no shrink, but it looked more than a little bit cathartic for him. And This was the first time I ever saw Mrs. Trump actually smile. I knew Trump has a thick skin, but it never occurred to me how much this process might have taken out of him, and out of his family, who by the way were all surveilled and some of whom were even set up.
I don’t think that was a victory lap. It was a decompression, and a thanks and an apology to friends and family.
