Nancy Pelosi Leaves Door Open For Additional Articles of Impeachment

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appeared Sunday on ABC’s This Week, and she left the door open for further articles of impeachment.
She’s also still clinging to the fantasy that the American public will get on board with her partisan impeachment clown show.

Pelosi appears to believe not only that the Senate should conduct the investigation she failed to do in the House but that the American people will magically get behind her party’s bogus impeachment push.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday did not rule out the possibility of a House subpoena for testimony from former national security adviser John Bolton and other witnesses sought by Democrats, depending on whether the Senate seeks testimony in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial.
“It’s not excluded, but we’ll see what they do,” she told ABC Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos on “This Week.”
She also did not rule out the possibility of additional articles of impeachment against the president in the future.
“You said he’s violating the Constitution again and again. Do you think it’s possible that the House might have to file new articles of impeachment?” Stephanopoulos asked.
“Let’s just see what the Senate does. The ball will be in their court soon,” Pelosi replied.

The Trump administration directed a number of high-profile witnesses sought by House Democrats in the Ukraine impeachment probe from cooperating with the investigation and subpoenas for testimony and records. Republicans, including Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, have criticized Democrats for impeaching Trump before exhausting all legal options in seeking testimony and records from the Trump administration, along with current and former officials.
“Why not wait for the courts to rule?” Stephanopoulos asked.
“How long do the courts take?” Pelosi said. “We have confidence in our case.”
So much confidence, apparently, that she tried—and failed—to strong-arm Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) into conducting the investigation she failed to conduct. It’s mind-boggling.
Apparently her “let’s see what the Senate does” is intended to push McConnell to do as she wishes . . . or the House will drum up further articles of impeachment.
Pelosi is also accusing McConnell of a “cover up” and insists that Americans “see the need for witnesses.”
Pelosi has faced criticism from Republicans for not allowing the impeachment process to move forward, and even some Democrats have expressed impatience.
Still, she insists it has been an effective strategy.
“No, no, no — we feel that it has produced a very positive result,” Pelosi said on ABC’s “This Week,” pointing to new information that has surfaced former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s announcement that he is now willing to testify in the Senate under subpoena
“We wanted the public to see the need for witnesses,” Pelosi said, defending the tactic.
During the delay, Senate Republicans introduced a resolution allowing for dismissal of the impeachment case if Pelosi failed to send the articles within 25 days. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was among those who backed the measure, leading Pelosi to accuse him of being potentially complicit in wrongdoing.
“Dismissing is a cover-up,” she declared.
Pelosi insisted that even without having witnesses at the Senate trial, which McConnell has opposed, there is enough evidence to remove Trump from office.
But even if the Senate acquits Trump, nothing will change the fact that he was impeached, she said.
“There’s nothing the Senate can do that can ever erase that,” she said, later adding, “He will be impeached forever.”
Indeed. And thanks to her partisan clown show that now means pretty much nothing. All she’s accomplished is to debase impeachment from a serious check on the Executive branch to a cheap, cynical partisan play to overturn an election. Sad.

It was very strange that the 2 Articles of Impeachment that they chose had nothing to do with the actual trial. I figured she must have something up her sleeve. I think it’s slowly being revealed now. I really think that they want to label Trump as the first president ever to be impeached TWICE. Like that is going to make him twice as bad or twice as likely to be found guilty in the Senate.

We the People will see right through this and I’m not just referring to Republicans and Conservatives. It’s a losing strategy for the Party and it will likely not just benefit Trump in November but the entire right side of the isle.
What trial? There has been no trial.
After Trump is cleared in the Senate trial, he will make history by being the first impeached President to ever be reelected.
With Kavanaugh it was added accusers, with Trump added articles. After Trump took out a kindred spirit in Iraq, the Dems are grieving as much as the Mullahs.
If the trumpets heralded the Second Coming, the Dems would ask for the Devil to have more time.
This is the same way the Dems took down Palin in Alaska, also. They stacked baseless allegations against her that she had to defend with personal funds until they exhausted her money.
Currently, I think Trump will set a record as the first US President to be impeached a dozen times, only to have each of them tossed in the Senate, win his second term, and preside over the full disintegration of the Democrats as they descend into madness. (Ok, it’s a short trip for that last one)
Palin resigned in response to a lawsuit attacking her legal fund’s ability to receive donations.

Not a lawsuit but a ruling by the state ethics commission that raising the funds necessary to defend herself was itself unethical, and was the one thing she was actually guilty of.
Also, it wasn’t just her but her staff, all of whom were being accused and had to pay for their own defenses.
Third, even if money hadn’t been an issue, the sheer time she and her staff would have to spend defending themselves would have left nothing for doing the state’s business.

When a dem gets bovine droppings on themselves, they simply declare that these are not bovine droppings, and have never been bovine droppings, and all this talk about bovine droppings is a waste of time and an insult to bovines. A second impeachment? Pretty big talk for somebody who hasn’t managed to do even one impeachment yet.

Yeah, you have so much confidence in your investigation and your case that you . . . refused to transmit the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate.
And if the democrats do go for further articles of impeachment the Republicans should use that fact and declare long and loudly that the democrats are using the impeachment process purely for political purposes simply because they don’t like Pres. Trump. Shout it out loud and long and don’t let the electorate forget what the traitor democrats are up to. And continue right up to the day of the November 2020 elections.
No, dismissing is an acknowledgment by the Senate that the House democrats have no evidence or proof that Pres. Trump violated any law.
There is no need for further witnesses. The House investigation should be able to provide all the evidence/proof necessary to show that Pres. Trump has committed “high crimes & misdemeanors”. Baring that evidence then Pres. Trump should be acquitted of any allegations.

Speaker Pelosi, while charging President Trump with abuse of power, has conducted a politically-motivated impeachment, and then held both the impeachment and the American people’s best interests as hostages, in order to gain a political advantage for a favored Democrat presidential candidate. If that’s not an “abuse of power,” we don’t know what is.

Hey, Nancy, why don’t you wait for the day after Trump wins the election before bringing up new charges?
Of course, he might lose. But if he does, then impeachment becomes moot. As (one might argue) does impeachment less than a year before the election, at least unless one assumes a truly clear and present danger.
So, let us know: if Trump wins again, would you truly have the nerve to try to reverse that election (because Trump)?
Reading that the bernie surge has nancy worried. So she’s supposedly timed the articles to go to the senate to interfere with bernie’s campaigning. He’ll have to sit in the senate while biden campaigns freely.
Now supposedly Mitch is changing senate rules and is going to toss the impeachment out on it’s ear when it arrives leaving plenty of time for bernie to campaign in Iowa for a chance to win messing with nancy’s attempt to screw bernie over.

The way to encourage more of this behavior from her is to give her what she wants, full trial, witnesses, whatever.
The way to encourage less of this is to punish her, ridicule her for it, give her what she doesn’t want — quick process, no witnesses, dismissal in the Senate without breaking a sweat.
