Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) is seeking a delay in Monday’s impeachment hearing following a massive data dump on Saturday. Collins is the ranking Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee chaired by Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY).

The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, the panel that will author articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, is demanding a delay in Monday’s hearing, citing a data dump Saturday that’s “partial, biased and curated to support” Democrats’ accusations.
Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., decried the release of thousands of pages of documents to be considered from the House impeachment investigation less than 48 hours beforehand after Republicans requested them nearly a month ago.
“The information Democrats released today is partial, biased and curated to support accusations that have, to date, been thinner than cotton candy,” Collins said in a statement Saturday.
. . . . Collins demanded a postponement of the hearing — and that Schiff release “the complete body of underlying evidence that he has concealed.”
“Under Speaker Pelosi’s leadership, House Democrats have eroded the integrity of our chamber and sacrificed the confidence of Americans who trust Congress to balance power, not abuse it.”
Collins notes that Republicans requested the documents 25 days ago and received no response from Nadler.

Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, delay Monday’s hearing after Democrats on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Foreign Affairs Committee and Budget Committee transmitted thousands of pages of documents to House Judiciary Republicans less than 48 hours before Judiciary’s hearing scheduled to examine impeachment presentations from Intelligence and Judiciary Committees.
The document release comes 25 days after Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee wrote to Chairman Nadler requesting all documents related to the impeachment investigation according to House Rule XI, 2(e)2(a). Republicans received no response from the chairman.

“Chairman Nadler has no choice but to postpone Monday’s hearing in the wake of a last-minute document transmission that shows just how far Democrats have gone to pervert basic fairness. Nearly a month after every Republican on our committee asserted our clear right to see all underlying documents held by the committees involved in the impeachment investigation, we have received no response from the chairman. Instead, Democrats waited until after Speaker Pelosi announced that articles of impeachment were imminent and chose the eve of the Judiciary Committee’s impeachment hearing to share loads of documents that Chairman Schiff has had since this investigation began. It is impossible for Judiciary members to sift through thousands and thousands of pages in any meaningful way in a matter of hours,” said Collins.
“Moreover, Democrats still refuse to release all documentation in their possession, though Republicans have demanded this according to rules of the House — which Democrats themselves adopted in January. The information Democrats released today is partial, biased and curated to support accusations that have, to date, been thinner than cotton candy.
“Americans still don’t have access to any information that Adam Schiff hasn’t chosen to weave into his trail of lies. On behalf of millions of American voters who deserve the truth, Chairman Nadler must postpone this hearing while the Judiciary Committee examines these documents. At the same time, Chairman Schiff must release to House members the complete body of underlying evidence that he has concealed.
“The unfairness and dishonesty of this impeachment sham continue to be unprecedented. In violating the rules that this House adopted democratically, Democrats have violated their oaths of office. Under Speaker Pelosi’s leadership, House Democrats have eroded the integrity of our chamber and sacrificed the confidence of Americans who trust Congress to balance power, not abuse it.”
It’s highly unlikely that that Nadler will respond, let alone postpone the hearings.
At this point, it’s not really clear why they are even holding further hearings given that Pelosi has already told “our chairman to proceed with articles of impeachment” against President Trump.

The Democrats know perfectly well that Republicans can’t read it all. They didn’t bother to read it either.

No, they may not have read it, but the Dems have prepared their distortions very carefully over the last 25 days, gotten their leftist legal assistants to arrange out-of-context quotes, and put together an opera in one act where all the parrots tomorrow have practiced their lies.
I think the Republicans may be better off attacking the process by asking all the ‘witnesses’ tomorrow questions like “How long did you have access to the thousands of pages of documents dropped on the minority representatives just a few days ago?” or “Have you coordinated your testimony today with the Democrat members of the committee or their staff members?”

The more I see lately, the more I think that the End Game is a Constitutional Convention. If that turns out to be the case, they have it written already and are just waiting for an opportunity.
Fear a con-con. No way will the delegates to be chosen be anywhere of the integrity possessed by those of the 1787 convention.

We are frighteningly close to the 34 states needed. The current court is 28 states with “live” convention calls.
Mark Levin wants one . The items are selected prior to con-con and none can be added although the left would try.
IIRC Levin wants an Article V convention which contemplates changes, Amendments, to the Constitution rather than another Constitutional Convention where the entire Constitution is open to rewrite.
Under Article V the issues for Amendment must be laid out in advance in order to prevent a runaway convention. There is argument over whether the State applications must contain only a single issue to be considered, or whether multiple issues may be contained in a single State application. If the former is correct then there must be 34 state applications for each subject to be considered. If the latter, then a state could combine issues rather than submit a separate application for each issue. And then there is the issue of whether a state can issue a recission of a call, essentially eliminating the call. States have issued recissions and whether these are legitimate might determine the final count of states.
Finally, any Amendments proposed by an Article V convention must be approved by 3/4th of the states, not the 2/3ds needed to call the convention. What do you think the probability would be that 38 states would agree to a complete alteration of the Constitution?
If there is ever such a convention, and pray there isn’t one, be sure to have about ten thousand of your boys “saddled and armed” close by.
Republicans should boycott the hearing. Congressional Representatives should not be allowed to treat their colleagues with such unethical contempt. The issue should be heard by the ethics committee.
With nothing to lose repubs need to take a page out of the democrats playbook and lie.
Come Monday motion immediately to close the investigation as the report completely exonerates President Trump.
Make up the lies and then state it’s on page such and such. Have 150 lies ready made with all the repubs set to orate their portion with their 5 minutes.

What is causing the Dems to act like this. It can’t be just political maneuvering at play. What they are doing is irrational. Hell they have faced opponents before that they couldn’t defeat in an election. Al Gore lost a heartbreaker and they didn’t do stuff like this. I smell FEAR, What is causing such great fear. Did our First Black President bring Chicago Land politics to D. C?
I have never seen anything like it either. I think part of it comes from the Dems’ fear that Chicago-style crimes will be exposed. But there is also the threat to thousands of jobs in the government as regulations are cut and failing social welfare programs are revised.
The biggest threat I believe is to the left’s plan for the future. They must push ahead with greater dictatorial acts. What they are doing isn’t working and rather than admit that fact, they are trying to take total control.
Based on this continued deception, it’s easy to understand why Trump won’t participate. The Republicans should boycott too stating that they are too busy pouring over the documents to attend.
