Elizabeth Warren Doubles Down, Fundraises Off Her Debunked Pregnancy Discrimination Story

On Sunday, a video surfaced that showed 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) changed her story about why she left a teaching job years ago. Then documents appeared, which also called Warren’s changing account into question.
Instead of admitting anything, Warren has chosen to double down.
Warren stands by her claim that she was discriminated against for being a pregnant woman. You’ll be shocked to learn that the media is accepting her explanation, pretty much without question.

On the campaign trail, Elizabeth Warren often tells the story of how she was fired from her first teaching job in 1971 because she was pregnant, a pivotal moment that ultimately put her on a path to Harvard, the United States Senate, and quite possibly the presidency. But recently, several media outlets have questioned the veracity of these claims.
In an exclusive interview with CBS News on Monday evening, Warren said she stands by her characterizations of why she left the job.
“All I know is I was 22 years old, I was 6 months pregnant, and the job that I had been promised for the next year was going to someone else. The principal said they were going to hire someone else for my job,” she said…
Asked by CBS News why she told the story differently at Berkeley a decade ago, Warren said her life since her election to the Senate in 2012 caused her to “open up” about her past. “After becoming a public figure I opened up more about different pieces in my life and this was one of them. I wrote about it in my book when I became a U.S. Senator,” she said in a statement from her campaign.

Well, I guess that’s it then. No need to press the issue any further. If you thought the media was in the tank for Obama in 2008, just wait until you see the way they will go to bat for Warren in 2020.

The media is also going to ignore the fact that Warren has a clear pattern of behavior here:

Warren is now fundraising off this issue. Here’s part of an email her campaign put out yesterday:

Ever since I was in second grade, I knew I wanted to be a public school teacher. And after some twists and turns, I got to live my dream.
But when I was 22 and finishing my first year of teaching, I had an experience millions of women will recognize.
By June I was visibly pregnant — and the principal told me the job I’d already been promised for the next year would go to someone else.
This was 1971, years before Congress outlawed pregnancy discrimination — but we know it still happens in subtle and not-so-subtle ways.
My story is not unique. And now, right-wing media outlets are dismissing my story — and in doing so, dismissing many similar stories of other women who have also been affected by pregnancy discrimination.
We need to call out right-wing smears when we see them — including this one. As our grassroots movement continues to grow, we fully expect to see more of these far-right hit jobs. Our job is to stop them dead in their tracks.
Consider this a preview of the 2020 race if and when it becomes clear that Warren will be the Democrat nominee. The same media that has aggressively scrutinized everything Trump has said and done, will suddenly assume the role of palace guards for Warren.

Even if her story is true, it happened a half-century ago. Pregnant women are not being fired from teaching jobs today. It’s a battle that was fought and won. Is she planning on running in the USA of the 60s and 70s?

Of course she’s doubling down. Warren knows that whatever she says is “true” until the democrat controlled media (the vast majority of the mainstream media) calls her on it….and they’re simply not going to do that.

This is a long standing pattern with the left in general and Warren in particular. They have a culture of never showing weakness or guilt (or forgiveness). Never back down. Never apologize. Attack!

She has based her entire professional career on lies. This has allowed her to fraudulently advance her career as a minority from the beginning. Then, having no accomplishments to build on, she embellished her story with other victimhood lies.
She simply has no valid story accomplishment to tell other than being an accomplished liar. So she lies. That is all she has.
The fact that this unscrupulous liar is teaching future lawyers doesn’t bode well for the future of the practice of law

In fairness to Elizabeth Warren — wait, am I really saying that? I should have my head examined.
She might be a terrible person, but in politics, she is a “brand” managed by and representing many different people and interest groups. She likely signs off on any major strategic moves, but most of it comes from and is done by other people. She also listens to her campaign consultants, political pros who still get paid whether she wins or loses.
They all count on the voters having short memories and not knowing much beyond what’s displayed in CNN chyrons or, for the “elite,” what’s in the first couple paragraphs of articles in The New York Times (the truth, if any, is usually at the end). Can any of us say those assumptions are unreasonable?

It is her job to correct any mistakes.

Oh, so that’s what “lived experience” means. It’s an euphemism for “convenient fabrication” which requires no evidence or documentation.

I really feel for her husband, living with someone so inherently dishonest for all these years.

Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi are sailing ahead with their lies about an innocuous phone call, pretending that the transcript wasn’t released and Volker’s testimony has not been taken. Now we have Elizabeth Warren declaring reasonable questions about changes in her own words, a “right-wing smear.”
They clearly have a pattern in common, and it looks like Hillary Clinton’s. Something something public position, private position.
They act like people have no memory.
Well, why not? She advocates socialism – the ultimate genocidal lie – so what is one or two or a few thousand other lies piled on top of that?
She’s not referred to as liawatha in many circles for no reason. Sadly, this article is also a rather damning commentary on those who support her.
She’s adjusted her story to fit the time-line of the dated school board minutes.
So she was visibly pregnant in June when they let her go. Elsewhere she’s said “6 months” at 22 years old … around here school starts after Labor Day – if the same basic school schedule where she was teaching then she’d have had her baby by the time school started. That’s back before Family Leave Act, etc., so she could have been back teaching by the end of September.
To have “fired” her when school ended because she was “visibly pregnant”, and would have had the baby about the time school started up again, does NOT make any sense. I’m hopeful someone is sleuthing out some of those who taught with her, and perhaps someone who was also pregnant when that same principal / school board was in charge. The story is clearly a fairy-tale.

I guess we can’t believe the video of her telling the interviewer she wasn’t sure if teaching the brain trauma kids was right for her or not.
Then she joined the dem party and decided it was.
No matter how Warren tells the tale, she was a liar then, or a liar now. I believe the latter.
You can tell she is a lawyer. I think her wording is very specific. Let’s insert what we know to be truth:

[I had been offered an extension to my contract, but I decided to resign so I could stay home with my child. The school board accepted my resignation with regret,] and the principal told me the job I’d already been promised for the next year would go to someone else.”
It changes the tone of the entire episode from being one of discrimination to normal life decision. But the wording she uses is very specific because technically, it isn’t a lie, or rather is a lie of omission.
