MSNBC Guest Says Trump Presidency Could Lead to Civil War
“He’s testing the democracy. He’s shredding the Constitution.”
A senior adviser for MoveOn.org named Karine Jean-Pierre warned that President Donald Trump’s presidency could lead to a civil war during an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Monday.
Is this an example of the incitement of violence the left loves to lecture about to the public?
This is something to which many people have become numb. A member of the left accuses Trump of being divisive, then says something divisive.

‘Morning Joe’ guest on Baltimore: Trump’s rhetoric could lead to ‘horrible civil war’
An MSNBC political analyst said on “Morning Joe” Monday that President Trump’s rhetoric “could lead to some sort of a horrible civil war.”
Karine Jean-Pierre, the chief public affairs officer for MoveOn.org, was reacting with Joe Scarborough to Trump’s attack on Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., in which the president called Baltimore “far worse and more dangerous” than the southern border.
“Cumming[s’] District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place,” Trump tweeted, before calling for an investigation into why Baltimore received so much federal funding.
Jean-Pierre said Trump is putting out “toxic” racism in his tweets and it must be called out. She argued Cummings “is everything Trump is not” and Trump is “threatened by Cummings.”
Mike Brest of the Washington Examiner has Jean-Pierre’s comments:
Jean-Pierre said that since Trump was inaugurated, he’s shown he “is not a president for black people. He’s not a president for women. He’s not a president for brown people. He’s not a president for the LGBTQ community. He chooses to just double down and triple down on bigotry and racism.”
“I don’t know where Donald Trump wants to take this,” Jean-Pierre continued. “But wherever it is it’s going to be dangerous. It could lead to some sort of a horrible civil war, you know, he is testing us. He’s testing the democracy. He’s shredding the Constitution. And so, Republicans — the leadership in the Republican Party — need to stand up. You have to speak up. Because if you don’t, you are encouraging this.”

This was really about protecting Cummings from criticism. Note that Jean-Pierre didn’t really address Trump’s completely accurate criticisms of Baltimore.

I believe the left have been pushing for a civil war since Obama came into power. It is what they believe will be the impetus for changing our government to their dream National Socialist State.
They worked it hard as they could under Obama’s regime, but Republicans let him get away with stepping all over the Constitution and did nothing.
The left wants the right to start it, but they have been pushing for it for a long time, and are the true reason it would come to pass. The left are all about the optics, but their actions against a duly elected President has been in large part to try to get one going. That is one of the reasons for their support of Antifa. And BLM. And any other subversive movements. The calls of racism are all part of it (along with trying to hurt Trump’s growing support from African Americans.)
The division in this country is growing, and it is through the direct actions of the left. It is what they want, they have sown the discontent, harmed positions of authority, and are growing impatient that it hasn’t happened yet. They think the military will give them cover. Their growing ties with radical Islamic groups is part of it too.
Any infidel who starts a war allied with Muslims thinking they will end the war allied with Muslims is a fool. Muslims will liquidate their allies the first chance they get.
Given that we are as close to civil war as we are, Trump’s re-election might start one. But if a Democrat is elected, a war is even more likely. Dems hate Trump with an unreasoning passion, but he won’t interfere with how they live their daily lives. The explicit goal of all the Dems is to restructure our lives.
Civil war doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be having Antietams. More likely our major cities will turn into Belfasts.

First the left tried to destroy Trump using the bogus Russian Collusion meme. That failed. Then they tried to use the bogus obstruction of justice meme. That has failed. So, he is striking back, with the truth. The Cummings case illustrates the saying that politicians who represent sh**hole districts shouldn’t throw stones. People are beginning to ignore the charges of racism, because, just like every other charge against Trump, it is bogus. Black Americans are not going to rise up in rebellion. Why? Because they are not stupid. Since Trump took office, the lower income populations of this country have seen a disproportionate increase in their standard of living and opportunity. This includes Black Americans. The same for Hispanic Americans. In fact, as a racial or ethnic group, White and Asian Americans have seen the least increase in standard of living and opportunity, though low income Whites have seen the same increase as low income minorities. So, exactly why would Blacks be inclined to rebel?
What could set off huge civil unrest is the antics of such organizations as AntiFa and BLM. Their activities can cause a serious violent backlash among the law abiding members of society. When average Americans and their families are placed at risk if they leave the house to buy a loaf of bread, we might just see the result of the lawful ownership of 300 million firearms in this country. We could see mobs, carrying ropes, chasing people wearing black masks through the streets. But, that is pest control, not civil war.
One last thing to consider. Why is the left talking about a civil war? Why is this being floated and blamed on Trump? Well, one thing that is most likely to set up a rebellion, in this country, is if Trump lost the next election and factual evidence was provided that this was due to rampant vote and voter fraud. THAT could well trigger a violent backlash which could evolve into civil war. Otherwise, no true civil war.

I don’t understand why the left would participate in a civil war. The right has all the guns. It would be a rather short civil war.

The Right may have all the guns (for now) but the Left has all the organization. Leftists have a nationwide network of activists who know how to not just mobilize thousands of demonstrators for street action, but also (and more importantly) how to provide the logistical support to keep them on the streets. They know how to provide training, food and shelter, legal help, emergency medical care, even child care. They have cadres of experienced street fighters who understand reconnaissance, communications and maneuvering. They can deploy anywhere in the country on very short notice.
What does the Right have? A whole lot of out-of-shape guys with ARs who probably couldn’t scrape up more than 2 or 3 friends at best.
Lefties are collectivists by nature. Conservatives are loners. It’s far easier to arm organized people than it is to organize armed people. If the SHTF, Soros can supply Antifa and BLM with weapons in a week. The Right would take years to duplicate the Left’s infrastructure, if ever.
I’d also like to point out that this belief that leftists don’t have guns is also false.
The left does have guns. Maybe not as much as the right has but they do have them. They also have the ability to get more guns and ammo. Just like people on the right.
Anyone who assumes a civil war would be short because the left has no guns are the same type of people who went to picnics to view the opening battles of the Civil War because they thought it wasn’t serious only to find out that it was an actual real war with death all over the place.

If you needed 200 experienced, equipped and committed fighters in your area next week, would you know who to contact? Would you be able to feed and shelter them? Hide them? Care for minor wounds? Could you even find 20 armed conservatives willing to take orders from you, much less 200?
The Leftists behind the Black Bloc, A.N.S.W.E.R., Occupy, Antifa, BLM could pull it off right now. Hell, they could probably mobilize two or three times that many. They’ve been fighting and training and recruiting and networking for decades. Putting guns in their hands is the easy part. I’ve competed at Camp Perry and trained many dozen women at NRA events. I could take a seasoned street fighter with zero firearms experience and turn him into an adequate rifleman in a day.

A few thing about the left’s ability to wage war.
You presuppose two things which are not true. The first is that the left has a large number of people who are trained cannon fodder. They are neither trained, equipped or modern urban warfare techniques. This has not been proven. Most of the people who show up for these violent AntiFa demonstrations are sheep in masks. And when faced with strong, organized resistance, they scamper off into the all concealing shadows. Also, none of these people have actually faced any significant number of people armed with firearms. The first march through Portland, following Trump’s election was very well behaved when it walked past an apartment building with man holding a pistol standing in the doorway.
The second presupposition is that conservatives are all fat, old men with no training. Sorry, but after the lat 18 years of foreign wars, there are a significant number of conservatives who possess both infantry training and experience. And, when faced with a large compact group of violent people, a couple of high capacity, semi-automatic rifles can do a whole heck of a lot of damage.
However, the biggest reason to suspect that no true civil war would brake out is that, should it happen, national Guard units would certainly be deployed and martial law might even be declared, resulting in regular military units being deployed. As Detroit how dealing with the 82nd and 101st Airborne worked out for them in 1967.

The side you fear so much does require scores of suppliers as they can’t do anything for their selves. They have small to no ammunition stores. Their food supply has about a three day trail. Three days and they are done. They are entirely dependent upon an easily disrupted energy supply as they live in inner cities. They are dependent on water that comes from outside.
In short, I don’t have to do anything until the remaining few that survive the initial death and destruction in the inner city venture out, where they will be handled by a skilled set of self sufficient survivors.
Frankly, it’s not going to happen that way. The left is to feeble to practice anything more than mob violence in their own neighborhoods.

Wouldn’t be the first time Democrats started a Civil War over the election of a Republican president.
To be honest, if Trump wins re-election [and especially wins back the House] expect one of the states of the de facto Peoples’ Republic of North America to imitate South Carolina in 1861. Those loyal to the United States who live in urban areas best take that as a sign that it is time to leave urban areas immediately. Because the war is not going to be state -v- state. It is going to be Leftist Urban -v- Conservative Rural. And the suburbs are going to be stuck in the middle. Being in the middle of a war is not a good place to be. I reiterate, if you are loyal to the Constitution and not the Left, beat feet out of there at the first warning.
Consider the nearest urban area to where you live. The average city has a three day supply of food combined in stores and warehouses at normal demand levels. At the first sign of a lack of supplies, demand levels will skyrocket.
How does food get into cities? By highway and by train, from sources that are distant. Next time you drive down a highway notice that the ground that the road runs on is not level but in fact the road adapts to the ditches, hills, mountains, etc. Those adaptations and changes in elevation are each subject to . . . interference on a regular and covert basis, sufficient to stop traffic. Same for trains.
How does power get to cities? Over high tension lines from far outside, subject to temporary or permanent interference. How does natural gas get to cities? Through pipelines with the same constraints. How does water get to cities? Through hard to protect cross country lines/aqueducts from limited and immobile sources. I offer both San Francisco and Los Angeles as case studies for the curious.
Let us say that the hungry and desperate urbanites swarm out. They will be on foot soon due to road blockages and lack of fuel, with no more food than they had in the cities and no prospect of getting any within foot marching distance. And they will be subject to “attrition” once outside of their element. If the swarm is attempted during the winter, it will be even worse for the Left.
Meanwhile, the less savory and more politically correct portions of the population that remains in the city will be looting and pillaging until they run out of anything to loot and pillage.
Within a week, long pork will be on the urban menu. A siege of about a month should be sufficient.

But your scenario falls apart if the federal and Blue state governments side with the Leftists. Most Most Leftist cities are ports. Food, energy and troops will pour in from NATO allies, Mexico, and every other nation invested in maintaining the status quo. They’ll be able to keep supply lines open to many urban areas, like Assad did in Syria. Yes, it might suck to live in Austin or St. Louis, but the East and West coasts will be safe.

Hard to believe the conversation regarding civil war and mustering of armed volunteers on both sides . It would be terrible for everybody. And what would it accomplish? Whichever side wins a shooting war will have done so by criminally murdering (in the absence of a declaration?) or maiming a fellow American.
Whichever side “won” would possibly be required to impose an extended period of martial law and other enroachments on our rights while the winners undertake a effort to root out any enemy holdouts. So be prepared for a extended period of overt sanctioned spying and censoring after the “war” no matter who wins.

I am not arguing that it would not be terrible. Nor do I believe that except by the most extraordinary circumstances would a semblance of a Constitutional Republic be the result. The key is that neither side is going to regard the other side as “fellow Americans” because we have destroyed our social contract.
