Prof Charged After Spraying Fake Blood On NRA Lobbyist’s House
A Nebraska professor has been charged with property destruction of an NRA lobbyist’s house, according to a Monday report.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln professor Patricia Wonch Hill received a misdemeanor charge after spraying fake blood on NRA lobbyist Chris Cox’s house in October 2017 and January of 2018, Omaha World-Herald reported.
Hill was not the only academic activist to protest Cox. Her UNL colleague, English professor Amanda Gailey, and former College of William and Mary visiting professor Catherine Koebel co-founded The Great American Gun Melt to lend the gun control movement a more radical element, according to The Washington Post.
Her fellow activist had a sign that said, “Chris Cox profits off dead kids,” along with a graphic photo of a child with a gunshot wound to the head. We’ve censored it here but Chris Cox profited off the bullet that killed this kid so he can deal. pic.twitter.com/LF4BrGUtre

By extension, as a Life Member of the NRA (and incidentally the GOA and NAGR), I must also “profit off dead kids”. I have no idea how that “profit” arrives but it must be true … after all, it’s on the Internet and you can’t post things there that aren’t true. Right? Right?
Or is it just vaguely possible that these twits have not done the basic research they would demand of a student paper? Why is it so hard for the anti-gun people to actually find out what they’re talking about before they proudly parade they ignorance for all to see?
Um, no. Cox does indeed profit from the NRA; he makes his living from it. You don’t. You’re one of the people paying for his living. So given their screwed-up premises, Cox profits from the dead kids, while you pay for dead kids.
Nice way to totally duck the issue. The statement of the activists was Cox profits off the bullet and “dead kids”. Instead of addressing that, you switch to Cox profits off the NRA. Of course he does, he’s an employee.
The penalty for this must be very stiff for any sort of deterrence to others. In the circles this professor moves she will be a hero. Her defense will probably comped or paid for by some sympathetic group. Her status will be elevated, and she will suffer no social stigma. These folks are the “true believers” and somehow think people who think differently are evil and wrongdoers.
Well, what sort of penalty can possibly prevent that? The harsher the penalty the more of a heroine she’ll be to her comrades (and I use that term advisedly).
Reimbursement of the cost of clean-up, with a fine as (hopefully) a lesson to not do this again. That seems to be a reasonable penalty for the crime.
The only thing I can think of is making her personally clean up the damage with her own hands, except that I assume it’s already been cleaned, since Cox wouldn’t want to wait for the trial to have it done.
