House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Jason Chaffetz is expected to announce his resignation today, according to a reporter from Politico.

Chaffetz shocked hill-watchers when he first announced he would not seek re-election, only to follow that announcement with another shocker — the news he was considering leaving the Hill before the end of his current term.
The Utah Republican was recently sidelined by emergency foot surgery.

Anybody have any idea why?
Several Youtube videos report that an FBI insider says Chaffetz is resigning because of death threats made against his family due to his efforts to introduce a bill that calls for auditing the Federal Reserve. It’s all over Youtube, so you know it’s true, right? In the former America, I would have read such reports with a huge dose of skepticism. In the America we live in now, the left’s public behavior and statements are so violent that I wouldn’t put anything past them.
