Scarborough: Reports from Trump’s Club—He’s Almost ‘Detached from Reality’
Joe has heard reports that Trump “is running around, screaming at television sets.”
Earlier this month, Joe Scarborough compared President Trump to his own mother, “who has had dementia for ten years.” Joe was back on his Trump-is-crazy beat on today’s Morning Joe.
After Mika cited a Washington Post article quoting an anonymous source who wondered whether President Trump “is in the grip of some kind of paranoid delusion,” Joe weighed in, saying he’s heard reports all weekend that “the president is running around, screaming at television sets. He’s increasingly isolated.” Joe then upped the ante, adding that there are “reports at his club that he’s going off, detached. Almost detached from reality.”
Bonus Coverage: Scarborough Calls Nikki Haley “Fundamentally Ignorant” of Constitution, Derides Tillerson as “Cowering, Sad and Pathetic”
Scarborough also took shots at two Trump cabinet members. He twice called UN Ambassador Nikki Haley “fundamentally ignorant” of our Constitution describing President Trump as the “CEO of the country.”
Scarborough also aimed a low blow at Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, calling him “cowering,” “sad and pathetic.” Tillerson’s crime? Supposedly saying that he was “devoted to the president.” But as you’ll see in the video clip, Tillerson did not express personal devotion to the president. He said he was “devoted to helping the president achieve his objectives.” That’s a very different thing. Surely Scarborough would agree that everyone who serves in a presidential administration should be devoted to helping the president achieve his objectives.
Note: This attempt to cast President Trump as crazy is reminiscent of the way Soviet rulers would have political opponents diagnosed as insane for purposes of getting rid of them.
REX TILLERSON: I understand what his objectives are. When I’m not clear what his objectives are we talk about it. But I am devoted to helping the president achieve his objectives.
NIKKI HALEY: The president is the CEO of the country. He can hire and fire whoever he wants. That’s his right.
. . .
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: The Washington Post report cites anonymous sources saying that “across Washington, Trump’s allies have been buzzing about the staff’s competence, as well as the president’s state of mind. One GOP figure close to the White House mused privately about whether Trump was “in the grip of some kind of paranoid delusion.” And we’ve heard reporting on this on several levels, in terms of him pacing around, screaming, watching television.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: I’ve been hearing it all weekend. This is, Richard Haass, the only parallel, you good back to Nixon in ’74. All the reports I’ve been hearing out of the White House is the president is running around screaming at television sets, he’s increasingly isolated, basically wanting to fire everybody but Kushner.
. . .
He’s even at his club, reports at his club that he’s going off detached, almost detached from reality. And then you have, you have the ambassador to the United Nations calling him the CEO of the country. Fundamentally ignorant, fundamentally ignorant of our constitutional republic and the Constitution, the system that’s been put in place. And Rex Tillerson cowering like he’s a caddy saying he’s, quote, devoted to the president. Cowering like a poor, pathetic — I can’t even say caddy because most caddies will talk back to you.
JOHN HEILEMANN: Perhaps “valet” is the word you’re looking for.
JOE: I don’t know what word I’m looking for, but it’s sad and pathetic that the Secretary of State feels like he has to say that he’s, quote, devoted to a president who is, again, shredding democratic norms every day.
MIKA: We need to get to Clapper.

I worry about Joe, Mika and the whole MSM. Been around since FDR was inaugurated first time and never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined the press would give so much credit and confidence to “unnamed sources, GOP official. Anonymous sources” etc. One MSNBC official who did not want to be named told me Joe Scarborough and Mika are both crazy as bed bugs and smoke pot just before air time every day. Remember you heard it here first.
WaterGate changed the media. The media was always left-leaning, but it’s mission was primarily to inform. Today it’s sole mission is propaganda.
I don’t think it was Watergate, at all. I think the Democratic Party, as a whole, made a pivotal decision under Tom Daschle to “ride the Iraq war all the way to the White House.” They put their political self-interest ahead of the best interests of our troops and the nation, itself.
After that, they accepted a lot of money from George Soros to form a propaganda network.
I think Trump needs to slap a HUGE law suit on their collective a$$’es,,,
Enough is enough!
Mika must have had a headache all weekend. Joe is the ultimate fake conservative for rent.
“…the president is running around, screaming at television sets…”
So? Any sane person who doesn’t yell at his TV set isn’t paying attention.
Ha!
Ain’t it the truth.
MSLSD is out of touch with reality.
I’m just curious; is it possible to have a daily digest of an outlet that’s pro-American and possibly positive about Trump? Is there some reason we’re being served the left’s delusional fantasy stories every day?
Why wouldn’t we see more articles here on where Trump is falling short on his promises, even? I’d like to see more about where he’s dropping the ball, most specifically repealing the DACA order and failing to obtain funds to BUILD the WaLL. Everyone who’s paying attention knows that those fences with the corrugated look are astonishingly easy to climb because there’s video of it all over YouTube. So, why is Spicer getting away with calling the crummy fence a wall?
If you wish to be negative about Trump, then please consider doing it on OUR TERMS. Why concede all our time attention to those not advancing our positions?
Thank you.
I respect your view, but I came to LI from NewsBusters, where the stated mission is exposing liberal media bias. That is also my focus here, although I do at times cover of her subject matter.
Dear Mark:
Thank you for the reason behind your posts. I have been wondering.

Thank you. I do believe it’s useful to know what the other side is saying. And Morning Joe is the most influential morning show among the political and media elites.
Political and media elites? Swamp creatures, IMO.
Dear Mark:
I hit submit prematurely. :^) If you do cover other things, then would you consider do a two-parter from time to time, which would include looking at things from the standpoint of where we are on the things which Trump has promised and failed to deliver?
Thank you very much.

Hopefully Mika is better on her back than she is on her feet.
You are an evil person and I admire you very much. Unfortunately, I can only give you one up vote.
And we’ve heard reporting on this on several levels, in terms of him … watching television.
Trump is watching television? Why, that scalawag …
I had no idea the situation was so serious.
I understand his yelling at televisions. I get very involved with certain episodes of McGyver myself.
The short answer is that the daily digest of the left’s lunacy makes our own failures more palatable by comparison. Pushing the bar ever lower elicits warm fuzzies all around. All justified because, well, you know, it could have been Hillary.
Dear Merlin:
I’m sure you’re correct; nonetheless, if the last election really was the Flight 93 election, then our posts should reflect that and move the ball, not merely make us feel superior.

Rumor has it Mika likes to use a strapon on Joe.
It’s only a rumor now?
To be honest, I yell at the TV sets, too.
I’m sorry, but this is getting old and really boring. Pointing out the ridiculousness of Morning Joe, is akin to making fun of the National Enquirer back in the 70s. It won’t be long before Morning Joe announces that Batboy is Donald Trump’s love child. The lunacy that is Morning Joe is now ssssoooo predictable that pointing it out is about as exciting as pointing out that the sun rose in the east this morning.
Mac45:
“…Morning Joe announces that Batboy is Donald Trump’s love child.”
You crack me up! Lol
I’ll pay $1.50 for that paper!

It is high time that conservative media call out all the other side for its insanity; loud and clear in one voice over and over. The overwhelming, non-stop legacy media clamoring about Trump’s sanity, fitness for office, so-called lying, etc. and calling for his impeachment has one purpose and one purpose only: to create doubts in the minds of non-progressives. From what I see the mental illness resides almost exclusively on the progressive/democrat/resistance side and it is time the message gets delivered, over and over again, that these people are mentally ill, if not insane. Maxine Waters? Batsh*t crazy. John Lewis? Nancy Pelosi? Exhibiting old age dementia. Rachel Maddow? Chris Mathews? Chris Hayes? Hate-filled, seething bags of derangement. Those calling for violence against republicans, at town halls, at colleges? Crazy, crazy, crazy. When will conservatives go on the attack like our enemy does? It seems that is the only way to counter the disinformation, lies, propaganda, and poison being spread by the irresponsible media and democrats.

These two lovebirds gave each other syphillis, which accounts for their insanity.
But to devote an entire column to them – regularly?
By giving such attention micro-studying these two useful idiots, the blog empowers them.
Mark, this is a mere blip on the leftist radar, and should be one of several headlines in a weekly segment.
Retract the syphillis claim – they probably haven’t engaged in coitus over a long enough period.
Which is even worse – they have no external excuse for their fraud.
In reply to TheFineReport.com:
First, I thought the syphillis claim highly likely to account for their dementia.
Second, I agree devoting an entire column to them, almost every day as I recall, empowers them.
Third, I disagree with your scheduling idea of a “weekly segment.” I assume bloggers like to set their own schedules, but agree this could be one portion of a an article not the subject of the entire article.
Fourth, when I read them, I almost feel the writer is endorsing the comments of the MSNBC on-air “talent” because he so rarely tries to refute what they say. I suppose we’re supposed to do that. But I’d at least prefer a preface or final paragraph that states something to the effect:
“Despite what these two diseased* lovebirds are chirping, & what you would never know if you only listened to them, President Donald J. Trump ran his own business for decades in the very difficult world of real estate all over New York and indeed the world. In addition, President Trump has obtained the services for the American people of top-level executives in the private sector who have foregone multi-million dollar salaries and in some cases, liquidated or considered liquidating their fortunes in order to serve. These executives bring world class talent into the political world and are renowned for delivering to their shareholders.
In addition, President Trump has five beautiful children who are a credit to him and his country. Thus far, despite being from a high profile family, none of them have fallen into drug use or other similar debauchery.
Far from being mentally challenged, President Trump is an impressive chief executive and American.”

It’s the daily comics for people who don’t like cartoons.
I can attest to the fact that the president cannot fire ANY government official he wants, especially those whose function is “quasi legislative” and congress has limited the removal power. But I’m pretty sure the president IS the CEO of the Government under Article II of the US Const.

Here’s Scarborough again, referencing his many “insider” spies, whose reports always seem to back his own views up for some reason…
It could be infotainment, but it becomes entertainment.
Change the channel.
Sometimes I think entirely too much credence is given to the ever popular “anonymous sources.” When they don’t identify themselves people really should try to ignore them even though that is hard o do. Maybe those sources are only the crazy voices spinning in liberal heads.
No doubt that those anonymous sources are just the crazy voices spinning in liberal heads, katiejane, but never forget the words of Lenin: a lie told often enough becomes the truth. That’s what the dems are counting on, after all to them the ends justify the means. No outrageous lie, no ad hominem attack, no hypocritical statement, is wrong if it advances their vile cause. Eventually we’ll all come around.
I remember how Ashton Kutcher and his cougar-wife pledged their undying allegiance not to the country, but to an unqualified negro, elected on the basis of white guilt. I don’t remember anyone saying anything about that, let alone Scar.
