The Global March on Jersusalem has been promoted for months as a means by which up to two million people would crash Israel’s borders.
Israel geared up, and issued warnings.
And waited.
And waited.
And all that showed up were a few thousand people at the Gaza border (forced back with one shot and killed). In Lebanon, as expected, the Hezbollah-run protest took place at Beaufort Castle, away from the border. On the West Bank, a few hundred rock throwers attacked security checkpoints, but were driven back with non-lethal methods:
Clashes broke out at Qalandia checkpoint, where demonstrators burned tires and threw stones as they advanced towards the Israeli side. Israeli soldiers fired tear-gas and stun grenades and used a wide arsenal of riot-dispersal systems, including the foul-smelling “Skunk” and “Scream,” a system that unleashes a high-frequency blast of sound.
There were modest sized protests in neighboring countries, but no March on Jerusalem.
All in all, the hype did not live up to the hype.
But the Israelis are and should remain on guard.

I just watched and read this over at thegatewaypundit.com:
Rev. Wright Leads Global March…..Protesters throw firebombs and rocks….
Included is a very short but good video of the violence of this protest. Thankfully, it was not what they’d planned, or on the hyped scale they hoped for.
I wonder where Rev. Wright was in the whole protest? Leading the pack, or safe in some isolated area, protected from the firebombs?
Typo in headline, Professor
They knew if they showed up they’d end up dead.
Go Israel!!!
And in despair I bowed my head
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”
–Longfellow
I remember a time when hate was SAID to be wrong.
Huh…
I guess it depends on your skin color, religion, or politics…
‘If’
(Same answer the Spartans gave to Philip of Macedon when he threatened that if his armies passed a certain point, there would be nothing left of Sparta. Neither he nor his son, Alex, made a move on Sparta.)
Nice one, Aggie.
I’d forgotten about that.
What if you threw a Two Million Man Global March on Jerusalem, and almost no one showed up?
Simple. Hold a 3 million man march.
Holy HomoNationalism, Batman!!
That Joker, Paul Larudee, is working on a new piece for Huffington Post titled, “Does the Epic Fail of the Global March to Jerusalem Delegitimize Us Nutters? Not at All.”
That’s a shame. Their activism suffered from selective indignation. This has been a progressive outcome of similar hypocritical efforts.
Can I “love” this post?
“Skunk” is a great way to deal with these loons. Normally they can come to an event like this, throw their temper tantrums, and go home all filled with Righteous Outrage and a Sense of Accomplishment, and brag about it to their friends. After being Skunk-ed, all they can do is go home and try to scrub off the scent of failure. And burn their clothes. And their car seats. And every time they lift their cell phone to their face, they will be reminded of their failure.

From Omega Letter:
“…The Bible identifies the archangel Michael as Israel’s guardian angel. (Daniel 10:13, 31) The prophet Zechariah predicted that in the last days, God would send His angels to fight alongside Israel.
“In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.” (Zechariah 12:8)
In its existence, Israel has fought back invaders in five major wars aimed at its annihilation, against impossible odds exceeding 650 to 1 in some cases. Israel’s victory in the War of Independence was nothing short of miraculous, as were her victories in 1967 and 1973 against the combined might of the Soviet-backed Arab Legions.
Given her precarious geography, with enemies on three sides and her back to the sea, the Arab armies should have cut through her like a hot knife through butter, but amazingly, each victory left Israel in possession of more land than she had when attacked. And in every war, there are reports from BOTH sides of angelic intervention on Israel’s behalf.
Israel’s warrior angels make appearances during the Exodus, during most of Israel’s early battles, and are promised as Israel’s protectors in the last days.
There are too many independent accounts to dismiss reports of angelic warriors as battle fatigue, particularly when one considers that they’ve been seen by BOTH sides…”
