Good MoDo, good

Good MoDo, good

When MoDo is good, she’s really good.  When she’s bad, she’s really bad.

This is really good MoDo:

Reagan didn’t socialize with the press. He spent his evenings with Nancy, watching TV with dinner trays. But he knew that to transcend, you can’t condescend.

The portrait of the first couple in Jodi Kantor’s new book, “The Obamas,” bristles with aggrievement and the rational president’s disdain for the irrational nature of politics, the press and Republicans. Despite what his rivals say, the president and the first lady do believe in American exceptionalism — their own, and they feel overassaulted and underappreciated.

We disappointed them.

I wonder what the Editors of the NY Times would say if this were written by someone at a conservative publication, or stated by Newt Gingrich.  Well, we know the answer to that.

“…the rational president’s disdain…”

Ah, the indestructible conceits of the Left. Obama is “rational”? What was “rational” about vetoing Keystone? The Left uses language like they use everything and everybody — to support or advance a conceit, illusion, purpose, agenda.

It’s hard to believe that she wrote that. But, of course, she’ll vote for him again.

From what I am reading around the web, I am getting the impression the liberal establishment is really scared of Newt. They see Newt neutralizing and turning around their greatest asset, the press. He can control the message beyond the sound bite and pierce through their hypocrisy to expose their bigotry. It’s. Fun thing o watch to see them quiver like this.

The Republican establishment is just as afraid of Newt. They can’t control him, and it drives them nuts.

Bingo! It’s about the control with the R establishment. Otherwise, Newt hasn’t had the money to buy off and spread around. Why else would Dems. and lefty media push a Republican candidate, other than he’ll be a pushover for a win? They’re not going to vote for him anyway. As for Mo’ Doody, she is a little disillusioned with the bobos. She would never vote for a Republican anyway.

As Rush Limbaugh points out, the Democrats and their sycophantic allies in the Press (and liberal Republicans), they always, ALWAYS tell us who they fear.

Newt was a very effective Speaker of the House; they fear he will be as equally effective as President of the United States. That’s the matter in a nutshell, they don’t want real and lasting reform, because real reform changes the rules they are used to playing they think they can win.

      imfine in reply to McCoy2k. | January 22, 2012 at 4:07 pm

Funny with the coming financial crisis, real reform is coming regardless of desire. They have simply run out of money and are running the clock, but that will simply mean the end of the federal government once it’s currency is worthless. You would think they would want newt because he stands to make the reform as painless as possible by getting the economy roaring. But whatever, a gingrich presidency would mean they all leave power now that the establishment has been exposed and each has had their stabbing him. I expect big payback. They have it coming.

Once again the Left is preparing the meme that will follow Obama’s presidency and become the defining theme of his post presidency, that the American people aren’t GOOD ENOUGH for a leader like Obama, that America doesn’t deserve a leader such the kind of Barack Obama.

I hate to trigger Godwin’s Law, but the last time I read about a people of a country weren’t good enough for their leader, was in ’45 when Hitler said that about the German people, and then ordered the destruction of *everything* in Germany – roads, bridges, factories – everything. Somehow Obama and the Keystone decision (and all the other economic decisions) came to mind…

I find it so amusing that this idiot woman has just now figured this out. Heck, I was still a democrat when I refused to vote for this marxist lunatic in the WH.

When Mccain’s supporters shouted “USA” in the rallies, the Obots chanted “O-bama”.

Barack Hussein Obama’s real religion is not christianity, it is Barack Hussein Obama. Of course they don’t believe in American exceptionalism, they believe in Obama-exceptionalism. They believe themselves to be royalty, they think bitter clinging americans are beneath them and to be despised. They were able to hide all this with the help of the entire media in 2008, I’m surprised it took idiots like Dowd this long to figure it out…. and YET…

she will vote for him again. 1000% guranteed.

Both Barack and Michelle Obama are examples of people who have a chip on their shoulder. These arrogant elites were isolated from ever receiving negative feedback throughout their lives because they both grew up with affirmative action. Unlike most of us who have had to stand down on occasion and be the recipients of some bad news about wanting aspects or our behavior, the Obama’s never experienced any type of comeuppance throughout their entire lives. The reason for this is because in America over the last several decades, one simply could not criticize a black person -0 for any reason – without being called a racist.

Unfortunately, the Obamas (or anyone else) never derived any benefit from this. They never grew up and become people of good character. This is why benevolent intervention and social engineering is so damaging. Success is build upon mountains of failure. When people are not allowed to fail, they become emotionally crippled and they never develop to their fullest potential. They become intellectually incompetent and socially under-developed.

Our nation has had to endure these malcontents in a position they never earned on their merits. History will record the Obamas in the White House an unfortunate artifact of a great deal of white guilt and the unfortunate by-products of affirmative action. As a result of their tenure I believe we will encounter great resistance amongst the general population to racial preferences in the future. The Obamas totally squandered the social and political capitol they had been accumulating for years. The sooner they go the better.

As for Newt, cannot stand the man, but I find myself appaulding him when he rips apart the liberal establishment press and the man they so clearly protect, Barry (& the dems).

Do I think Newt’s electable? I don’t know. But I’d vote for Glenn Beck’s shoe if that’s the nominee just as he said he would.

Newt, Mittens, Beck’s shoe? ABO!

Maureen Dowd gets it – HALFWAY. She gets it, but she has to make excuses for him – every time. She gets it, but she refuses to SEE it – she still believes that he was something. Something he never was.

She and Peggy Noonan share this trait – Like split personalities, clinging to their vision of what Obama must have been. That beautiful mirror reflecting back to them all their hopes and dreams. The feet of clay. The bitter realization that he isn’t and never was plastered over every time with the tattered remnants of their imaginary Obama.

Dowd usually starts her column with the plaster, but as she writes, she warms up and the truth, which she DOES now see, surfaces.

Noonan is the opposite, calls it right down the line, and then pulls back in horror at what she sees behind the curtain, and tries to reassure herself it’s not that bad.

In this case – with one of the first tell-all books detailing what we all tried to tell you – what we COULD see… Dowd still hides in the weeds.

I don’t understand why she still has a job, honestly. To be that wrong, it ought to get you fired.

Eh, see, I looked at this as the beginning of inoculation. With all the hubbub about the “bloodlust” of Republican audiences, the lib media are attempting to inoculation not only themselves but Obama against charges of lack of transparency, cronyism and Pravda-ism.

Instead of a paean to our Dear Leader I offer this:

Also note that Dowd throws in the obligatory Newt knock at the end, which is the whole point of any solitary negative story about a liberal politician. First they go the “I see NOTHING!” route.

Then they report a single crime so they can reference that single report as evidence they are doing their jobs and, dadgummit!, they’re hard hitting in their reporting.

“I think that all good, right thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that all good, right thinking people in this country are fed up with being told that all good, right thinking people in this country are fed up with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am”

MoDo and the rest of her ilk have become a bad parody of Monty Python…

heh. So he disdain’s the “irrational” press?

and I dislike gourmet ice cream covered with flavored syrups.

I’m sure he’d love a rational press. I know I would.

The press is finally realizing Obama is not their friend. He doesn’t like them. He uses them. He gives them press releases, and nothing real. Staged photos. Closed meetings. Churlish behavior, incompetent press secretaries.

katiejane in reply to Rose. | January 23, 2012 at 3:59 pm

I’m inclined to go further than saying Obama doesn’t like the press, IMO Obama “likes” very few people other than a carefully selected circle who either are as vapid and empty as he is or willing to fake it.

If you’re always worried that people would find out you were a fake O guess you might not be very casually friendly – hard to always keep lies straight.
