Kimberly Guilfoyle Resigns as U.S. Ambassador to Greece
A Wall Street Journal report said Guilfoyle apparently asked a donor to President Donald Trump for $100,000.
*UPDATE 11:18 AM* Kimberly Guilfoyle has resigned as U.S. Ambassador to Greece after the White House asked her to do so due to allegations of misconduct.
Guilfoyle denied any wrongdoing:
Serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime. I will forever be grateful to President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for entrusting me with the extraordinary privilege of representing the greatest country in the history of the world.
From my first day as Ambassador, I have worked tirelessly to advance President Trump’s America First agenda, strengthen our strategic alliance with Greece, and deliver meaningful victories for the American people.
During my tenure, we have helped secure historic agreements to expand American liquefied natural gas exports to Europe, advanced the Vertical Corridor to reduce Europe’s dependence on Russian energy, strengthened our defense and security partnership with a critical NATO ally, and expanded opportunities for American businesses and investment throughout the region.
I am especially proud of the role our Embassy has played in strengthening American energy dominance, advancing economic cooperation, and ensuring that the United States remains the indispensable leader in Southeast Europe.
These accomplishments are a testament to President Trump’s bold leadership, Secretary Rubio’s commitment to American diplomacy, and the extraordinary men and women who serve our country every day.
I also want to address the recent allegations against me. These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity. I have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice, standing up for what is right, and defending the values that make America exceptional. I will not allow false accusations to define my decades of public service.
My gratitude and respect for President Trump and Secretary Rubio remain unwavering. I am proud of what we accomplished together, and I will always be a loyal supporter of President Trump and his mission to Make America Great Again.
While my time as Ambassador may be coming to an end, my commitment to President Trump, the America First movement, and the country I love will never end.
It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve the United States of America. My deepest heartfelt appreciation to the people of Greece for their hospitality, partnership, and welcoming me with open arms. God bless President Trump, God bless our incredible diplomats and service members, and God bless the United States of America.

***Earlier reporting: White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia announced that the White House has asked U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign.
A Wall Street Journal report said Guilfoyle apparently asked a donor to President Donald Trump for $100,000.
From the press briefing:
Reporter: “On Kimberly Guilfoyle, the Daily Mail has been reporting on her since last year. The president said yesterday to reporters that he is considering firing her. Do you know a timeline for that and also potentially who could be on the short list to replace her if he does?”
White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia: “We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign. She has been a wonderful asset to the team and we wish her well.”

The WSJ printed alleged messages between Guilfoyle, who was once engaged to Donald Trump Jr., and donor Eric Deters.
Guilfoyle’s attorneys said she “disputed the authenticity of the messages but declined to provide specifics.”
The messages show Guilfoyle asked Deters for $100,000 to pay American Express, but needed to receive it without leaving a paper trail.
But Deters also wanted Guilfoyle’s help to gain the attention of the Trump administration:
For months, Guilfoyle had been chatting with Eric Deters, a former congressional candidate in Kentucky who was seeking her help in getting the attention of the new Trump administration on some personal tax and legal issues—and had promised payments of as much as $1 million if she was successful. As Donald Trump Jr.’s former fiancée, Guilfoyle offered to use her sway, according to Deters and messages reviewed by the Journal. She forwarded Deters the messages she’d sent to the new Internal Revenue Service chief and updated him on her efforts to lobby the Justice Department on his behalf.
But her confirmation was coming up, and she needed her card balance paid down before then, she said.
“Honey please I need you to get this done for me today,” she texted Deters, adding a prayer hands emoji and a PDF with bill payment instructions from American Express. “You could just send it here,” she wrote on July 3, 2025, just days before her July 9 confirmation hearing.
Senate Democrats already demanded a conduct review on Guilfoyle after another WSJ investigation, which looked “into her promotion of a Greek company whose lobbyist traveled with her to meetings with governments across the Balkans.”
On Sunday, a source told The Associated Press that Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are “extremely pissed off” over Guilfoyle’s reported conduct.
Trump told the press on Monday that the administration is “looking at” the allegations, saying, “We’re not happy.”
'WE'RE NOT HAPPY': Trump says he is "looking at" firing U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle amid allegations of improper conduct.

“The WSJ printed alleged messages between Guilfoyle, who was once engaged to Donald Trump Jr., and donor Eric Deters.”
Oxford comma for the win.
This Guilfoyle gal seems to have made a career out of stepping on rakes.
However, this alleged hacked text exchange, “Honey please I need you to get this done for me today” makes her sound more like fin domme, rather than a damsel in distress.
No sympathy…
I was never impressed by her. I thought she was more suited to be hanging with the Kardashians in Hollywood than to be anywhere near a position of authority.
She has the overly inflated lips and ugly hairstyle that make her perfect for the Kardashians.
My first impression as well. “Meet the Kashdashians.”
Wasn’t Miss Kimberly associated with Greasy Gavin at some point in the past?
She was married to him, which was apparently a traumatic experience.
She married Mr. Brylcreem. That alone demonstrates she has really poor judgment skills.
Thanks a lot for the cringe. Hangers-on taking money to get people’s ‘tax problems’ and ‘legal issues’ ‘taken care of’ is extremely NOT what I voted for. It’s more like we expect from Democrats. Ouch.
And even if it’s not true, you know how nobody ever hears the retractions, if any.
I DID vote for an administration that finds solutions to problems, including problems with its own officials.
Rather than defend Guilfoyle’s actions, the administration forced her to resign.
Problem solved.
Well said.
A huge embarrassment and an insult to Greece.
What are you talking about? If true this is nothing more than when in Rome do as Romans do 🤔
Funny you should say that. The Italian Ambassador is a low class Texas billionaire disrespecting the people of Italy. A diplomat should be diplomatic.
Now we’re even for “Hercules Goes Bananas.”
All she had to do was dress and act like a 60yo adult!
And yet, I look at that photo and see what Kathy Hochul wishes she could be.
Having spent a bit of time in Greece, (a beautiful country BTW), we visited the Greek military history museum in Athens. When we think of U.S. military history, it spans 250 – 300 years, but go to the Greek military history museum and you’ll span 4000 – 5000 or more years of their military history. The museum was six floors just to span “most” of their military history. They had a quote from Churchill, “…they say the Greeks fight like heroes, but it is the heroes who fight like Greeks.”
I must say that we loved our two week stay in Greece. Visited Athens (of course), Delphi, Corinth, and the Island of Aegina. Perfect weather (mid 70s). loved the food and people, our Airbnb was superb and cheap, stood where the Apostle Paul preached the sermon to the unknown God. What an experience.
What a wonderful post – thank you! Most of us will not get to Greece. Yet their OLD history influenced ours.
I was only in grade school, but I’ve never forgotten a piece of humor from the Reader’s Digest about a Freedom Trail tour guide in Boston gushing to her crowd about how one of the pre-Revolutionary buildings they were viewing was “more than 300 years old!” One of the tourists dryly replied, “I can’t wait to show these photos to my family back in Damascus,”
This woman has had a lot of opportunities to make money in the past. Apparently managing money isn’t her strong suit.
My question – why run up the bills in the first place? STOP spending.
What serious person has a $100k credit card bill in the first place?
Easy come, easy go. Stupid people that get lucky and make a lot of money are incapable of understanding that they won’t keep making the current level of money forever.
It’s who so many lottery winners and NFL/NBA athletes are broke in just a few years.
I’d bet money there are chunks missing from that text conversation that change the context. The press has become notorious for that kind of snip and paste. Still, when you start with the Trump administration, you have to realize every text, email, supposed off-record comment, everything will be gone over by the Dems for anything they can use against Trump.
Ambassador is one of those relic government positions whose time has long since passed.
Ambassador USED to be one of the most important positions in the British Empire, because it took weeks or even months to send and receive a single message back to the UK, they were the face and the authority of the Crown, given wide leeway to negotiate and act on behalf of the Crown, and that held true for centuries for all major governments – ambassadors were one of the positions with the most authority in the government because they HAD to be in order to act in the interests of their government.
Now, of course, they’re just useless figureheads. Heads of State can communicate with each other in minutes with no go-between necessary.
Ambassadors at this point are just useless political appointees who live in luxury while doing absolutely nothing of value. It’s long past time we stopped pretending they are anything other than positions to gift to politically connected people for a few years of high living.
At least she had the wits not to make a big stink about this.
Then again, she’s a woman, so she will have YEARS to decide that she really was r*d.
