A pet theory I have is that a good chunk of the leftist mentality is trying to outdo your fellows. If your buddy wants to drive the opposition from power legally through elections, you score points by saying that you want them arrested. If he (sorry, xe) wants them threatened, you say you outright want them to be attacked and beaten. It feeds on itself, a downward spiral where they all compete with each other to call for the next outrageous thing… and it only ends in violence and eventual murder.
That is the nature of a political party that dwells in the past. The ‘Democratic’ Party is a party of the past. Their imagined future will only be what the past showed us, just different language and wardrobe and makeup.
