Minnesota: FBI Arrests Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud for Allegedly Plotting ISIS Attack at Mall of America

He allegedly wanted to kill “Chinese Vietnamese and other kuffar [non-Muslims]” at an event and targeted the mall because it’s owned by Jews.

U.S. Attorney for Minnesota Dan Rosen announced the FBI arrested Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud, 18, for allegedly plotting a mass casualty attack in support of ISIS at the Mall of America.

Fox News correspondent Garrett Tenney reported that Mohamud is an American citizen. His parents, though, are from…Somalia.

“The complaint charges Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud with acquiring an AK-47 assault rifle and 200 rounds of ammunition in order to commit a federal crime of terrorism, including attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization,” Rosen explained at a press conference.

Paul Blume of FOX 9 wrote on X that the FBI arrested Mohamed yesterday after he allegedly bought the gun and ammunition from an undercover FBI agent.

According to Blume, the charging documents allege Mohamud wanted to target the Hmong Arts Celebration on 10/24 with an attempt to kill “Chinese Vietnamese and other kuffar [non-Muslims]” at the event.

The documents also allege that Mohamud wanted to target the Mall of America because it’s owned by Jews.

“I want to harm the jew just like brothers in Australia Bondi Beach harmed the Jews,” Mohamud said, according to the documents. “I’ll just go grab assault rifle, bomb too complicated, kill maybe 30-60 people insha Allah and have 260 ammo.”

The Iranian-Canadian Ghermezian family owns the Mall of America. They are Jewish.

“Here, because of their vigilance and diligence, they were able to detect a threat and disrupt it before the defendant carried out his intention to kill, in his words, maybe 30 to 60 people, as we allege in far greater detail in the complaint,” continued Rosen.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Chris Dotson told the press that Mohamud fully intended to carry out his plan.

“Over the course of this investigation, Mohamud repeatedly expressed support of foreign terrorist organizations,” said Dotson. “Because he felt like he could not travel abroad to fight for these organizations, he instead expressed his intent to commit a terrorist-inspired attack here in the United States, in Minnesota.”

Attorney General Todd Blanche said Mohamud allegedly sent messages to a confidential source pledging his allegiance to ISIS with propaganda videos.

The Mall of America hosted its first Hmong Arts Celebration last year.

The Hmong people are an ethnic group from southern Asia and Southeast Asia. They originated in central China before the expanding Han Chinese population drove them southward.

Over 170,000 live in the United States.

Why are they not there now? Don’t events in Europe already make this bleeding obvious? Or are Americans thick as bricks? (I think in Europe the obvious has already been grasped by the common folk. It’s their leadership that continues to toe the politically-correct line.)

People are scared to death. They’re going to get cold, racist. That, or what they say in social media will be discovered by the company they work for and they’ll get fired for it. And I’m not kidding.

Sadly many will never get there, the suicidal empathy described by Gad Saad accounts for much of it. Others rightly fear the lefty mob turning on and targeting them with everything from mean tweets or name calling, ‘SWATing:’ to actual direct violence.

Some might just be too aggressively uninformed and determined to stay that way by remaining within the supportive, safe lefty woke bubble/echo chamber and never seeking out different ideas, opinions or perspectives.

In ’24 Harris got 75,017,613 votes as compared to Trump’s 77,302,580 votes. In a Nation with 232 million potential voters less than 65% even bothered to cast a ballot. There’s significant public apathy out there about any issue when over 1/3 eligible don’t show up.

Then there’s the location dynamic. The folks in these deep Blue bastions have made their bed. They’ve done so for multiple decades, despite being warned about the potential consequences. I choose to live in an unincorporated area of a rural Red county within a very Red State for very good reasons. Gang violence and imported terrorism (even by clearly not assimilated 2nd generation immigrants) is for the folks where it exists to deal with and fix ….or not …until it gets much worse and Federal Govt must step in, declare martial law and clear the streets. When they’re ready to appoint Greg Bovino as interim ‘Military Gov’ for the duration of the ’emergency period’ as civil order is restored then I might care enough to pay attention to MN.

until it gets much worse and Federal Govt must step in, declare martial law and clear the streets.

Martial law is illegal in the USA, unless the courts are unable to function. As soon as a courthouse opens for business, martial law in that county automatically becomes invalid.

(The Supreme Court held that technically martial law is always illegal, even in an emergency, but that if the courts are unable to function then there’s no alternative so the military must be allowed to keep law and order anyway. Basically a “not a suicide pact” argument. But as soon as it’s possible to obey the law the illegal regime must stop.)

Sure. Keep telling yourself that when the 82nd shows up and seizes control by order of President invoking the Insurrection Act. The decision of the start point and the decision of ‘when the emergency is over’ rests entirely with the Executive Branch. Not just as a legal matter but as a practical matter. By all means show up and waive around an injuction from a CT whose writ doesn’t extend into a declared Insurrection. That is clearly the act of a madman who can no longer distinguish reality from fantasy. Sadly he’ll be put into an institution to receive treatment hopefully curing his condition but if not at least he’ll be safe and secure unable to harm himself or others.

Unfortunately in such a scenario of Insurrection much of the civilian leadership to include the judiciary was complicit in creating the crisis and must be held pending trial. The remainder must be sequestered ‘for their own protection’ from those criminal/terrorist/anarchist/antifa elements seeking retribution against them for their cooperation with Federal forces seeking to free MN from oppression and tyranny.

Probably only take a decade or so of reconstruction to fix what ails MN and/or other deep Blue bastions who are likewise destabilized and unable to function.

“….unless the courts are unable to function.” We are not too far from that it seems in terms of rogue judges overruling the executive branch.

Martial law has its merits. If the US were to find itself in a France-like situation,
martial law might be the only solution to restore order, depending on the extent of the riots. Calling in the National Guard would be useless because the Leftists/Jacobin judges in the courts.

La Rochefoucauld, French philosopher, said it hundreds of years ago:
(Maxim 310): It arrives sometimes situations in life where one must be (or do something) a little crazy to extricate oneself from a crazy situation.

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | October 8, 2026 at 10:32 am

What you are advocating is outright insurrection against the constitution, and makes you the traitor that would need to be put down. It would justify second-amendment remedies against the President.

The moment he declares martial law in a county where there is a functioning court, he is the criminal. There are no two ways about it.

“….unless the courts are unable to function.” We are not too far from that it seems in terms of rogue judges overruling the executive branch.

Those courts are functioning, and so long as they are able to do so martial law is illegal.

CommoChief in reply to Milhouse. | October 8, 2026 at 8:52 pm

          Milhouse,

If all you’re worried about is whether the local CT House is open or closed …you’ve lost the plot. Especially when many/most of those inside the CT House are co-conspirators to the insurrection the Feds would be quelling. Now if the judiciary was truly neutral, acting in good faith and not imposing Cray Cray rulings the keep getting slapped down by SCOTUS or didn’t admit to colluding in a scheme to frustrate ICE detentions (as the SR Fed Judge in MN did) or hauling in US Attorney and/or DoJ Attorneys to castigate them for catch-22 situations the Judges themselves created ….then yeah I’d agree with you.

Unfortunately the premise of your position rests upon a fiction that the Judiciary in MN is acting in an even handed, neutral, unbiased manner …which they are c!early not. Perhaps you believe that simply b/c one is appointed to the bench they assume infallibility (many Judges I’ve known would occasionally agree but usually regret it later) or that even where a Judge is clearly not just wrong but actively and deliberately misusing their authority that we all must bend over and take it …personally I disagree.

‘Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice and moderation in the pursuit of Justice is no virtue’

If that means a few partisan hacks in robes acting with clear animus and malfeasance get their egos bruised in detention so be it. Frankly that’s much preferable to other more vigorous options for satisfying your demand that the CT House must be closed but if you insist ….it wouldn’t be all that difficult.

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | October 9, 2026 at 9:49 am

No, Chief, it’s got nothing to do with whether the courts are acting neutrally, or honorably, or anything else. So long as they are functioning at all, i.e. so long as there is a civil authority capable of maintaining law and order, martial law is absolutely illegal. It can only ever exist as a concession to necessity, when there is literally no alternative at all. When the civil courts are simply unable to function, because they’ve been knocked out by some emergency, then military tribunals may fill in the gap because the alternative is anarchy. As soon as there is someone who can arraign the criminals that the police arrest, the military must withdraw from that role.

I’ve said for years ‘Islam is a cancer in the West. Stop importing these people.’

Yes, junior hothead is an anchor baby US citizen, but his parents with the star wars name, death cult worldview, and vociferous tribal loyalties were imported here from a 3rd world craphole decades ago.

Dollars to donuts they still don’t speak English. Stop importing these people because Islam is a cancer in the West.

      Milhouse in reply to LB1901. | October 7, 2026 at 8:41 pm

No, he is not an anchor baby. His parents were already living here legally before he was born. “Anchor baby” means a child born in a country with birthright citizenship for the purpose of anchoring the parents there, and enabling them to obtain legal residence.

“Greetings, Muslims — have you heard the news?
The Minnesota Statehouse is owned by Jews!”

Just kill him. I’m tired of this BS. He fell into the woodchopper while escaping. That’s his story and we’re sticking to it.

Meanwhile, Minnesota is bound and determined to ensure that no Elisjsha Dicken is ever onsite to save the Mall of America.

DaveGinOly in reply to henrybowman. | October 7, 2026 at 4:10 pm

Off course. Dems need firearms tragedies because they can use them to advance their (gun) control agenda. This is why they never contemplate solutions to problems (like armed guards in schools as a response to school shootings) to gun violence that might actually work. Solutions that work, preventing future tragedies, would take the wind out of their gun control sails, and therefore can’t be permitted.

This is all well and good. But what I want to know is “Did the FBI cajole the suspect into adopting this plan, or did he legit have his own plan that was discovered by the FBI?” I’m tired of the firemen lighting fires and then telling us they did a good job putting it out before it hurt anyone.

“Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud.”

Probably a Lutheran; always going off the rails. Bad sort.

smh

Sheikhdoon sounds Amish. Or something you might name a black baby if you had a hangover couldn’t think up any new names that day.

What the HELL is happening in Minnesota

Is he an immigrant?

If they can find ANYTHING on his parents, they all need to go back to their shithole

The Hmong are a lot better citizens than the Somali’s. The Hmong fought the communists with us in the Vietnam war. The news is full of Somali fraud and gang shootings. The Somali’s are proving out to be some of the worst people we have let into our country. Deport the skinny’s as soon as possible.

Was he perhaps actually planning to demand money from the mall’s Jewish owners in return for not doing this? That would be a Sheikhdoon.

Testing whether I’m shadow-banned.

“…at an event…” – ok, that explains it.

When I first saw the headline, my first thought was, “Well, ok, but a somali muslim terror attack at the Mall of America is only going to kill a lot of other somali muslims.”

It was the same scam as the Europeans fell for, we couldn’t save their country so bring them here to ruin ours.

isfoss in reply to Skip. | October 8, 2026 at 10:38 am

The scam is that the Muslims didn’t/don’t want their country “saved.” They want to bring Islam to a country that’s nice and comfy, They’re hoping the EU will be that comfy place for them. If not, there’s always the U.S.

While criminals plan the next 9-11, the FBI is busy entrapping low-hanging froot loops.

An 18 year old came up with this ! Imagine what the adults of his ilk are plotting…
