Macron Enjoys Céline Dion as France Erupts in Riots

Macron attends a Céline Dion concert before riots erupt across France, leaving buildings burned, 1,800 arrested and Jewish businesses allegedly targeted.

French President Emmanuel Macron spent Friday evening enjoying a Céline Dion concert with his wife, Brigitte. By Saturday, much of France was dealing with burning cars, looted stores, and rioters attacking government buildings.

Nero had a fiddle. Macron had Céline Dion.

Macron and his wife were spotted in a private box at Friday’s concert outside Paris. Brigitte was singing and dancing, apparently having a wonderful time. The couple kept their arrival and departure quiet, though someone still managed to get footage of them.

French authorities put Saturday’s crowd at 550,000. The unions claimed 800,000. Either way, the streets were packed. Students had been protesting for weeks over lousy school conditions and a lack of teachers. By Saturday, they had plenty of company. Union members, Yellow Vests, and people angry about their pensions and grocery bills all showed up.

And then came the people interested in smashing things.

Police in Paris faced masked mobs throwing projectiles and setting barricades alight. Banks and shops had their windows broken. Several luxury retailers were looted, along with a mobile phone store. Marseille’s city hall was stormed and vandalized. Lyon’s tourism office burned.

Little of the roof remains on Limoges’ city hall. The building is more than a century old, and somebody decided to torch it Saturday. The local prefect said the fire was deliberate. It came close to taking the entire building.

Sunday’s police report brought the number of arrests to at least 1,800. More than 500 officers, gendarmes and firefighters had been injured. Paris police also confirmed a death from a heart attack, although the circumstances were still under investigation.

The accounts out of Marseille included something far worse than another trashed storefront.

On CNews, veteran French journalist Paul Amar said attackers had addresses of Jewish-owned shops before the violence began. He also said there was a street where Jewish businesses burned, and Muslim businesses did not.

“They came prepared. They had the addresses of town halls. They had addresses of Jewish shop owners.

In a street in Marseille, all businesses owned by Jews were set on fire. Businesses run by Muslims weren’t.”

Amar’s allegations have not been independently confirmed.

Macron condemned the destruction Saturday, promising to prosecute those responsible.

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu blamed the “ultra-left” and criminals. Police unions reported officers were attacked with bricks and clubs, with the UNSA union warning its members were approaching their limit.

Far-left leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon complained that police had blocked demonstrators from Place de la République, accusing authorities of provoking confrontations.

By Sunday, protesters had also been spotted near the Louvre, raising fears the violence could reach one of the world’s most iconic cultural landmarks.

Meanwhile, demonstrators were gathering again at Place de la République. Macron was preparing to meet with his ministers and deliver a televised speech at 8 p.m.

Quite a weekend. Friday night, Céline Dion. Saturday, burning barricades. Sunday, an emergency address.

Probably not the encore Macron had in mind.

Burn it all down. This is what the French citizens voted for so give them what they want.

    Can NYC be far behind?

It’s been a little over a couple of centuries since the first French Revolution. They seem to think it’s time for another one. Just so they keep it to themselves. We don’t need any more savages over here. We have too many already.

These are not the same French, these are almost commies

They will burn down every church, as they have 1400 already including Notre Dame

They will burn down the Louve

Macron is too chicken to send in the military…
Maybe because half the military are Muslims and they won’t bare arms against their own

They’re not that far different from the original revolutionaries. The French revolutionaries were the first major socialists. And that is why their revolution failed while I succeeded.

Macron should have sent in the military two weeks ago. Now it’s too late in the game.
Yes, they will destroy the monuments, museums, cathedrals. But they’ll have to do it in broad daylight because Macron says “curfew”. Bonne chance with that, Macron.

    ZTAKDDOT,

No, no, no, a thousand times no. France is a mess of a country, but condemning the entire population to destruction, never. And just like the French Revolution ended up with Napoleon destroying Europe, if this revolution succeeds, you will get a Marxist state in the heart of Europe, and the carnage will be like Mao’s insanity in China all over again.

I hate to say this, but if it gets much worse, even the clown Marcon and the French people who opposed the RED/GREENS are going to have to use real force to end this, even if it ends up with blood on the streets.

If it’s not stopped soon, there will be blood on the streets anyway, and many countries in the West will see the blood on their streets too. May God help forgive our sins and help us all.

I don’t disagree with your conclusions re the potential end state in Europe. The question though is why the USA should be involved in any ‘saving’ or ‘intervention’? If we’re not gonna do that then other than ‘thoughts and prayers’ the European Nations and their Citizens gotta figure out whether they will roll over and take it or resist.

We have, thank goodness, large distances and wide oceans that separate our continental size Nation from Europe. We’ve begun cleaning up our own hemisphere and pushing out the leftists who wish us harm from power. The Citizens of the European Nations gonna have to decide which way to jump. We don’t have a dog in the fight of internal politics of Europe.

Perhaps his fiddle is in the shop??

With Macron’s ineptitude in response to mob riots it ain’t exactly ‘You’re here, there’s nothing I fear’.

At this point, you have to sit down and wonder just how stupid and self destructive, suicidal, actually, the EU is.

Globalists are salivating over this. Meanwhile, Poland laughs.

If the US State Department has not yet issued a warning against travel to France, it should do so immediately.

Maybe not all of France. The countryside and small towns and small cities might not be burning (yet). It’s also likely that Normandy is an island of sanity in this Gallic sea of lunacy.

Yeah plenty of places (most really) in the French countryside are very different in demographic and cultural makeup from Parisian and other metro ‘suburbs’ …and I’d predict definitely not rioting tolerated in the village of Puyloubier, which is where the Foreign Legion maintains a vineyard operated by Legion pensioners.

The Gentle Grizzly | October 18, 2026 at 7:18 pm

“Macron attends a Céline Dion concert before riots erupt across France…”

Before. He’s supposed to know that riots would start?

If he had a credible intel/counter crew, it should’ve been noted: “tonight/tomorrow, stick close”. Epic fail or just an asshole? You decide, and “and” is available as default

I’d normally assume this was sarcasm. Would’ve helped if you phrased it like this:

“Protesters” like these only lit a teacher on fire and just looted across France, how’s he supposed to know that publicly announced demonstrations would start riots in Paris? Especially when there have ever been riots in Paris before.

We are seeing France disintegrate in real time. It is not beyond the bounds of probability that it will cease to exist as an organized political entity within months, if not weeks. And there are reports that the unrest is spreading to Spain and Italy. Could we be seeing the end of Europe?

The song “Eminence Front” by The Who comes to mind when I think about the EU globalists and their big money bundlers working behind the scenes.

The Real Truth | October 19, 2026 at 1:13 pm

These “protestors” are all either Socialist/Communist/or Islamic. They want to destroy France, and Macron is apparently too weak to do anything about it. The stupidest thing that France has done in recent years is to allow all the
Muslims into their country who refuse to assimilate and want to change France into a Muslim country. Every single country in the world where Muslims have become the majority has become Muslim. That is a FACT and not just a comment!!
