Florida Democratic Senate Candidate Wants Opponent ‘Locked Up and Punished in Jail’

Florida Democratic Senate Candidate Wants Opponent ‘Locked Up and Punished in Jail’

“You know, she — yeah, basically yes, because of what she did, yes. I absolutely would want that to happen, yes. … I have been perfectly clear.”

Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon, a state representative and member of the Democratic Socialists of America, unabashedly called for her Republican opponent, Sen. Ashley Moody, to be “locked up and punished in jail” during a Wednesday appearance on CNN program “The Arena.”

With supporter Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) at her side, Nixon told CNN host Kasie Hunt, “Moody is a lying, cheating, thieving, scamming person who basically took $10 million from sick kids for the Medicaid program. And she rerouted that into two political slush funds for Ron DeSantis to defeat two citizen-led ballot initiatives.”

[Nixon’s statement is a gross misrepresentation of the facts, which Hunt later addresses.]

Nixon continued, “And, you know, they are spreading, like, a lot of disinformation and lies on commercials about me, of saying things like, I want to abolish prisons and I want to defund the police. Why would I want to do that when I want her locked up and punished in jail for what she has done?”

She vowed “to stomp on this campaign trail all across the state, from the Panhandle to the Keys, and we’re looking forward to them calling me senator on November 3rd.”

To her credit, following Nixon’s inflammatory remarks, Hunt asked her, “You want your Republican opponent locked up?”

Yes, she certainly does, replying, “You know, she — yeah, basically yes, because of what she did, yes. I absolutely would want that to happen, yes. … I have been perfectly clear.”

[Watch Murphy’s changing facial expressions as Nixon speaks.]

Hunt questioned whether she felt she had enough evidence to warrant such a punishment.

Citing an October 2026 appellate ruling concerning a 2024 settlement that Moody had signed off on as attorney general, Nixon claimed, “What we are seeing is corruption through and through.”

Yes, she said, “I would definitely call for an investigation … when I become a U.S. senator.”

[Note: Following the interview, Hunt added an important clarification. “We do want to note that [Moody] was Florida attorney general when her office signed off on a $10 million settlement payout to Hope Florida. It’s a charity launched by Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis that later came under investigation. Senator Moody has not been charged and has denied wrongdoing.”]

The candidate also attacked Moody for supporting cuts to Medicaid in the state, claiming a doctor she had spoken to “looked at me and she said after that big B.S. bill passed, right, that children are going to die.”

Nixon, 42, became a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America in June 2026. The organization’s radical platform includes abolishing prisons — a plank difficult to reconcile with her February call for President Trump’s arrest and her current demands to jail Moody.

It may be the only agenda item the far-left candidate disagrees with. Nixon’s platform reads as though it were lifted straight from the DSA playbook.

Hunt began the interview by noting that national Democrats have been unwilling to invest in the Florida Senate race. Nixon currently trails Moody in the RealClearPolitics average by 7 points, and betting odds platform Polymarket gives her just an 8% chance of winning in November.

Still, Nixon did manage a stunning upset victory over her primary opponent, retired Air Force Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman. Despite being heavily outspent, she came from behind to win by 12 points.

Nixon was adamantly opposed to the Republicans’ redistricting efforts this spring. In protest, she famously marched through the legislative chamber while shouting into a pink bullhorn. Her wildly inappropriate performance can be viewed in the clip below.

She has also campaigned on making the wealthy “pay their fair share” and supports a 5% annual wealth tax on billionaires.

Yet, during a July interview, Nixon said it was “crazy” that she has to repay $17,600 in outstanding student loan debt and pay roughly $14,000 she owes in back taxes — even though her reported income totaled at least $270,000 in 2025.

Nixon whined:

Your girl over here is on a payment plan to pay the IRS $12,000 back. And listen, I ain’t made $105 billion, but you making me pay $12,000 to the feds? Like, really? That’s what we’re doing? And they already took some of the taxes away anyway. I paid over $10,000. It’s just, it is crazy.

Nixon demands that billionaires pay their fair share while complaining about paying her own taxes. She wants her opponent “locked up and punished in jail” after a full investigation has already occurred and before an investigation she proposes has even begun. Floridians deserve a senator who exercises sound judgment and applies a consistent standard of accountability. Nixon’s performance offers little evidence of either.

She is a mainstream Democrat. What she did not say is that the locking up will only be until the death camps are completed.

That statement alone should have caused the Senator sitting next to her to get up and walk out. We can only surmise that he agrees that all Republicans should be jailed.

So, a typical democrat?

What a joke candidate. Then again Germans thought AH was a clown in the 1920s. Take these dem socialists as seriously

What does she do to earn over a quarter million a year? I’m betting it’s at an NGO.

No, she’s a Florida state legislator. Hence the video of her making a fool of herself with the pink megaphone

According to Wikipedia, Florida legislators get paid $18,000 per year. Perhaps like many lady Democrat politicians, she is extremely gifting at picking stocks or investing in cattle futures. And yes, she is the director of an NGO.

As I always say, “non-profit” doesn’t mean nobody’s making money off it. It means the people fronting the money aren’t making money off it.

She also owns a wildly leftist bookstore that she opened using funds raised for a non profit which isn’t exactly on the up and up. Once again we see someone accusing their opponent of what they are doing.

I’ve seen pictures of it. The place is a tiny rat-hole with fewer books than I have in my office. (Not exaggerating, by the way.) But they sell coffee, so… profit?

and we’re looking forward to them calling me senator on November 3rd.”

Even if by some disastrous misfortune she were to be elected, she couldn’t be called senator until January 3.

She a crazy biyotch.
The chicks gonna vote fer her like M&Ms.

Maybe. If she were a fellow AWFL – absolutely yes. Likewise if she were an illegal Latin America drug gangbanger male or white Luige Mangione-style assassin, they would flock to him in droves and toss their hotel keys and panties at him at every campaign stop. They would even swoon if she were a black male rapper who fathered dozens of children by dozens of different women.

But a loudmouth black shrieking harpy? Doubtful.

What a twisted sister. She is in the right party. The Democratic Party of mental illness.

This foul creature is what you’d find if you looked under the bottom of the barrel.

What a coincidence. I want peope put in jail, too, but for a different reason: They’re marxists.

Commiefornia Refugee | October 15, 2026 at 10:04 pm

Nixon should have a larger tax liability than $12,000. That’s about the Federal amount for taxpayers making less than half what she does.

Well, she sounds like your typical communist. Wanting her opponents locked up for nothing illegal.

She said ‘jail’ but we know she means Gulag.

How does someone who can’t even speak English properly end up with a degree and making $270k a year?

They don’t teach English in college any more?

Reminds me of something that happened while I was in the Navy.

Our resident Jet Engine Yoda was an Indian (he HATED the term “Native American”) who grew up on a reservation in southern California. He was one of the most intelligent and capable people I’ve ever known but his formal education was…lacking.

He was elbow deep in engine trying to figure out a problem on our detachment’s helo so we could get an important mission underway. One of the pilots – college educated, degreed and highly trained at breaking airplanes* decided that he’d contribute his “expertise” and loudly suggested to the mechanic that he check something completely unrelated to the issue the engine was experiencing. The Mechanic looked back at him calmly and replied “they just educated you all the way up to stupid in that university didn’t they?…..sir.”

*I never really did figure out why it takes a college education to break a multi-million dollar airplane but only a high school education to fix it.

Nixon and Murphy, what a pair. They’d be lucky to get a real job as greeters at Walmart.

She “retracted” her previous vile statements about what she will do as Senator, but then she came up with a new vile statement…she’s vile and stupid. But idiots will still vote for her.
