Protester Carrying Palestinian Flag Disrupts 9/11 Memorial Game at Yankee Stadium, Tackled on Field

Ran onto field at 9:11 p.m. on 9/11. “Fans tossed drinks at the protester, who was kicking at the security guards as they carried him off the field.”

A man with a Palestinian flag ran out onto the field during a Yankees game on 9/11. Security guards tackled him while the crowd broke into chants of ‘USA.’

Many of the people associated with this movement seem to suffer from Main Character Syndrome.

The New York Post reported:

Palestinian flag-waving loon runs onto field at Yankee Stadium – Subway Series fans respond with ‘USA’ chants

A bozo waving a Palestinian flag ran onto the field at Yankee Stadium during Friday night’s Subway Series game — at 9:11 p.m. on the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The man stormed the field during the seventh inning of the Yankees-Mets game in The Bronx, waving the flag as the crowd erupted in anger.

Some fans broke into chants of “USA! USA!” while others could be heard yelling “f–k you” at the man.

The disruption came as New York marked 25 years since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

It was not immediately clear how the man managed to get onto the field.

Fans tossed drinks at the protester, who was kicking at the security guards as they carried him off the field.

The spectacle came on a night steeped in emotion at Yankee Stadium, where the crosstown rivals had gathered to commemorate a quarter-century since the terror attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.

Before the first pitch, the Yankees played a seven-minute video on the outfield scoreboard featuring members of the 2001 team reflecting on the aftermath of the attacks.

Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Paul O’Neill, Bernie Williams and Jorge Posada were among the former Yankees featured in the tribute.

Country singer Lee Greenwood then performed “God Bless the USA,” drawing roaring applause — followed by chants of “USA” from the stands.

Here’s another view.

At the end of this video, you can see fans throwing things down on the guy.

Sometimes people get injured when they get tackled. One can hope, can’t they?

The trouble with solemn ceremonies is that they’re set ups for disruption of equal emptiness.

Something real is hard to disrupt. That’s sort of a corollary of “If it’s on display, it’s not patriotism.” How would you disrupt patriotism that isn’t on display.

Why tackled? Bump that Molly coddling. Instead they should issue commands:
1. Stop
2. Get face down on the ground
3. Arms out
4. Cross your ankles

Now you’ve got four separate deliberate failures to comply aka resistance w/o violence.

More importantly that’s the basis to use less than lethal force to COMPEL compliance. Start with taser. Repeat. Then apply pepper spray. Repeat. Remember he must COMPLY so keep going until he voluntarily complies or until the use of those plus compliance strikes with batons have rendered him unable to comply.

Tackling should be out unless in extreme circumstances. Hands on by LEO should occur once a suspect is already compliant and submitted to detention/arrest. If it looks exactly like Rodney King you’ve gone too far but not before. Shift the polices to match that and pretty soon suspects will be be more willing to comply far earlier in their encounters.

Now you’ve got four separate deliberate failures to comply aka resistance w/o violence.

What you have is one resisting charge as the actions you describe are all part of one continuous action.

    Start with taser. Repeat.

Tasers have legal limits to length of time they can be used and the number of times they can be used.

    Then apply pepper spray. Repeat.

So you want the police to use pepper spray around other officers and in an area where players are going to be? Pepper spray works well in confined areas, not when there is wind that can carry the spray to other officers and people.

Heck, I would run out on the field given that your idea of excessive use of force would result in a large payout from the city.

You didn’t understand the order of application or the likely results.
      1. Taser then 2 Pepper spray
The Taser after two applications usually gonna have homeboy on the ground. His choice to comply or continue to resist. If he doesn’t comply then use the pepper spray. Why should ‘other officers’ get sprayed if the protocol/training revisions encompass this? ‘Other officers’ would know that whomever is giving commands is the one applying the spray and wouldn’t approach into the path of the spray. If you’re concerned about LEO inadvertent exposure to pepper spray then batons are out, so I suppose they just keep using more taser and more pepper spray till the guy chooses to comply or has a heart attack from taser or respiratory system shuts down from continuous pepper spray.

Wash the area and dissipate the spray for the ‘players’. No problem. Though IMO that’s a far lesser priority than gaining compliance and affecting a safe arrest. Safe for officers in this scenario and safe for public bystanders should be priority …the goon who ran out there could have avoided it all by not doing it or choosing to immediately comply with the four separate commands.

Payout? Depends on the jurisdiction I suppose and how much of a wussified place you live. Around here you’d be laughed out b/c ‘you had it coming’. Don’t try and turn this into something it isn’t. LEO wouldn’t be the aggressors here. The impetus is on the goon running onto the field to simply comply with clear lawful commands. If/when he CHOOSES to do so voluntarily then all use of taser/pepper spray/baton MUST end …but until then use of less than lethal means to compel compliance is appropriate. Though I suppose we could simply create the presumption that someone running out on the field/court should be stopped with deadly force by pre positioned snipers with pre clearance to fire at any viable target b/c they are considered a deadly threat/terrorist.

        Project much?

So now you want to kill someone who is running away?

        Paycheck time!

“Start with taser. Repeat. Then apply pepper spray. Repeat.”

No, do it in the other order. Fans deserve a pretty lightshow.

Why go to all that trouble? Palestinians are known for being terrorists (see 1972, 1976, 2023, etc.).
Just shoot him with a rifle. As often as required to make him stop moving.
Then go out and stuff him in of those big cans you put explosives in, and set off a demolition charge in it. Just to make sure.
Pour what’s left of him into the Hudson, upstream of the UN.

Cool with me. Make it a presumption that any goon running out on the field/court/track/whatever is automatically considered as a deadly threat/terrorist and have a sniper shoot the SoB. That would serve to stop his antics, protect all and provide deterrence.

He’s dark haired, wondering if Arab, Muslim
I hope he got several licks and punches out of camera range

They should have taken him to a section with the most inebriated fans and left him right in the middle of them

Palestine is a fictional construct of mooslim conquest wars

Free Palestine*
*With purchase of Palestine at regular price

Should have dragged back to the outfield, tied his feet together, then dragged back to the area so the can throwers could take more shots at him.

Yes, this article hits the nail on the head. It’s always about the palestinians. No “suffering” is as great as theirs, don’t you know, pay attention to me! They can’t stand 9/11 being baout the innocent American sensly murdered partially in their name if you read Bin Laden’s justifications. After all they were celebrating those murders 25 years ago. Every cause runs through a “free palestine” if you ask the DSA Democrats, who completely buy into their perfect innocent victim routine, it is their omni cause. I’m so disgusted by these narcississtic clowns, I can’t even express it in words. Honestly they have no identity other than being the world’s favorite over funded victims.

The flag of a mythical country where the unicorns roam.

A “Palestinian” flag. As in, a flag referencing the ancient Roman province of Syria Palaestina, which represented territory conquered from ancient Jews, and which province and name were contrived 600 years before “Submission’s” wretched founding; 600 years before “Muslims” existed.

Why have Arab invaders from Arabia in Gaza/West Bank brazenly appropriated the name of an ancient Roman province that pre-dates Submission, in a stunt of contemptible and propagandistic historical revisionism and faux legitimacy?

Another misguided rebel with a mutant anti American cause. May he reap his awards in hell.

A Palestinian? Why tackle him or grapple with him at all?
He’s advocating for a group of people who like to strap bombs on and blow up people who get close. Nope, head shot from the top row of bleachers would have been the right thing.

A cause so popular they need to hijack others’ events to get noticed; a movement so effective their best option is disrupting others vs doing themselves; a message so compelling they have “convince” with extortion: go along or we’ll trash whatever we can reach.

Two year olds move past tantrums when they develop better options. Just sayin.

I happened to be watching that game and the guy got exactly zero air time. They showed the people chanting USA and guys just standing around. I was wondering what happened to the pitch count. They showed the outfield gate closing is all. Nice try, loser.

Someone should have given him a Louisville Slugger to the face.

Hopefully the beer cans were not empty.
