Rutgers U. Partners With Planned Parenthood to Provide Abortion Training
“Through this initiative, Rutgers University will integrate abortion care into training curricula for health professionals”
The left has to train a whole new generation to carry on this practice which is so dear to them.

Rutgers abortion fellowship partners with Planned Parenthood as school funds abortion training
Rutgers University co-sponsors the “Reproductive and Gender Health Fellowship” with Planned Parenthood to train physicians to provide abortions.
The program requires participants to receive training in “first trimester abortion care.” Participants must have a New Jersey medical license to be accepted into the program.
The university’s Robert Wood Johnson Medical School oversees the fellowship, whose website lists 17 past fellows and one current fellow.
The fellowship aims to develop “leaders in women’s reproductive health care, education, research and advocacy” and coordinates resources for family physicians to become “abortion and long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) providers, trainers, and women’s reproductive health care advocates.”
In addition to the medical school, the university’s Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, Rutgers University Student Health, and Planned Parenthood co-sponsor the fellowship.
Fellows attend weekly procedure sessions at Planned Parenthood and teach medical students at the abortion provider and other primary care settings, according to the fellowship page.
The fellowship appears to overlap with another Rutgers abortion initiative. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy highlighted the state’s partnership with Rutgers for the “New Jersey Reproductive Training and Education Initiative” in a 2023 press release.
New Jersey appropriated $5 million to the Division of Consumer Affairs for the “New Jersey Reproductive Training and Education Initiative.” The division subsequently awarded the funds to Rutgers to implement the initiative.
The partnership involved Rutgers receiving a three-year, $5 million grant intended to expand the state’s “ability to meet the increased demand for abortion and reproductive health services.”
“Through this initiative, Rutgers University will integrate abortion care into training curricula for health professionals, and develop a new training site to expose learners to comprehensive abortion care and hands-on training,” the state’s press release explains.
