New York Governor Kathy Hochul recently appeared at the Islamic Cultural Center School in the Bronx and wore a hijab for the occasion. We’re ten days away from the 25th anniversary of the events of 9/11, and the Democratic governor of New York is appearing in public in a Muslim head covering.
This is nothing more than pandering, and it’s an utter disgrace.
Note the way that Mediaite chose to frame the story. All of the emphasis is on the reaction from the right:

A grip of pro-Trump social media users, Spencer Pratt, and one notable Republican lawmaker went off on New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) for wearing a hijab at a recent event hosted by a Muslim organization, with many saying a brief video of her speech proved the self-proclaimed feminist was nothing but a hypocrite.
The clip of Hochul donning a black hijab went viral on X on Sunday, two days after she spoke at the Islamic Cultural Center School in the Bronx. The “End Wokeness” X account shared it and racked up more than 4 million views by Sunday afternoon with the clip, which you can see below:

Kyle Becker of RedState made a great point about this:
The Democrat Party has gone out of its way to virtue-signal on behalf of Islamists. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Minnesota Lt. Gov. Penny Flanagan have all embraced the head covering.
If there is anything that the modern left supports, it’s political power.
And as radical Democrats embrace Islamist politicians like New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, we have to ask ourselves if there is any principle they won’t sell out in order to get it.

Islam is an Arabic word that means “submission” or “surrender” to the will of Allah.
Even worse, most Republican candidates (Spencer Pratt excluded) will remain silent, avoid the Islamization issues out of the fear of offending, or worse, just because they’re completely oblivious to the issue.
And, it should be noted, Islam is many things, but most definitely it is not and has never been, a religion of peace, if by that we consider its interaction with other peoples, countries or cultures. Islam demands submission. It’s only potentially a religion of “peace” with respect to a practitioner’s personal spiritual mindset during prayer time (maybe not even that). But one could say that about any cult, no matter how violent or deranged its actual practices.

Hochul, as is the case with all useful idiots, thinks that her actions will endear her to the savages. As is the case with communism, it just means that she’ll be first against the wall. Or out the window, as in the Falling Man’s case.

If she’s going to be “real” about this, she needs to wear it every day and look ridiculous. So pathetic it’s funny.

Then there’s the wonderful story about the time Margaret Thatcher visited a Jewish girls’ school, and realized during her visit that she was dressed inappropriately by the school’s standards. Of course no one said anything, but once she realized it, she sent an aide to fetch her jacket, and wore it for the rest of her visit. Was that pandering, or graciousness?

The issue is more Hochul’s and the Dhimmi-crats’ brazen hypocrisy, rather than pandering, to my mind.
All politicians pander, to an extent. The Dhimmi-crats more than others.
The Dhimmi-crats have long claimed to advocate for women, employ “Handsmaid’s Tale” bonnets as a protest costume, yet Dhimmi-crat women will eagerly don the hijab and give their seal of approval to Submission’s pervasive and intrinsic misogyny, mistreatment of and oppression of women.

When I was part of a school trip to a synagogue nobody covered their heads. Can’t remember if the rabbi or whatever he was had his head covered.

Yes. Men covering their head when visiting a synagogue is not pandering, it’s common courtesy. So why is it different with hijab at a Moslem event? It’s not as if they’d asked her to put on a burka or niqab!
Huh, when I visit my BiL’s synagogue, I take my hat off (usually a baseball cap) and I am not asked to put a yarmulke on. Jews do not want to impose their beliefs on everyone else. You can get meat on a pizza in NYC.
Women covering up in Islam is about submission and control and extends beyond the mosque. Men covering their head in a Jewish synagogue is about neither.
How many Jewish men have been killed for not wearing a kippah…. Yet Muslim and non Muslim women are beaten, thrown in prison and killed frequently or are under threat of death if they do not cover their hair or cover it properly …. But yah sure it’s just quant tradition …. To support it is just showing respect for the enslavement and complete oppression of women

They do it literally all the time. Every campaign, multiple politicians do it. And at various times in between campaigns, when some issue arises, such as antisemitic attacks.

1. Practicing up for the eventual mandatory requirement
2. Sending the clear signal that everyone in NY needs to start practicing how to appease their future over lords as she chose to do.
