Honduran National Arrested in California for Alleged Fraudulent Voter Registration
DHS records show the man has never sought U.S. citizenship.
Authorities arrested a Honduran national and lawful permanent resident in California’s San Fernando Valley for allegedly fraudulently registering to vote.
Darwin Jonathan Rivera Flores faces two felony charges: false claim to U.S. citizenship and fraudulent voter registration.
Flores is not a U.S. citizen. The DOJ said he has not voted in an election.
However, records show that “the voter registration application deadline was dated November 4, 2025.”
“Today’s arrest is the first of many to come,” said First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli. “Unfortunately, because states like California allow non-citizens to easily register to vote and receive a ballot by mail, there’s no telling how many non-citizens are currently registered to vote. We again renew our request that California immediately comply with our requests to audit their voter rolls so that all voters can have confidence in our elections.”

Rivera-Flores came to the United States in 2002. He hates ICE:
In February 2026, Rivera physically disrupted immigration law enforcement operations at the federal building in Camarillo, was issued a misdemeanor citation to which he pleaded guilty and was placed on one year of probation.
In April 2026, Rivera sent a federal agent a series of text messages, which read in part, “Your not the good guy I can’t wait until the mid terms you dont have qualified immunity then we can start and indict all you guys one bye one.” Rivera continued texting the federal agent until July 2026.
“Based upon my education, training and experience, and the reference to the upcoming elections, I believe this message demonstrates RIVERA FLORES has both an interest in the voting process and an intent to participate in the election process,” the special agent wrote in the affidavit.
The special agent decided to investigate further:
I also conducted several record checks through other public databases, including the California Secretary of State website. This record check disclosed an online voter registration record in the name of “Darwin Rivera” associated with the same address on Hatillo Ave, Winnetka, CA 91306.
In July 2026, I received a certified voter registration application/affidavit number 65DH67XXX, a voter registration receipt and a signature image from the California Secretary of State, Elections Division. The voter registration name is listed as “Darwin J Rivera” and lists the same address on Hatillo Ave., Winnetka, CA 91306. Under the application question of “Did someone help you fill out this form” the answer “no” is checked. A check mark is provided next to the application wording “I am a U.S. citizen.”
Following a declaration under penalty of perjury warning, the voter registration application is dated November 4, 2025.
Documents from the County of Los Angeles Office of the City Council showed voter registration records identical to those on the Secretary of State website.
Yes, Rivera-Flores checked “I am a U.S. Citizen.”
DHS records told the special agent that Rivera-Flores never sought U.S. citizenship.

This example demonstrates how out of whack our society is that this guy has the expectation that consequences don’t apply. What should be going on is the reverse. Every illegal alien in the USA should be constantly looking over their shoulder, fearful that any/every interaction with govt at any level, for any purpose might result in their detention and removal. Every interaction from a traffic ticket to registration of your child for school, hospital visits, filing taxes worried that H&R Block gonna rat you out to ICE, that your employer gonna will refuse to hand over your wages and you have zero recourse but to take it b/c if you make a scene they call la migra. Don’t mow the lawn and code enforcement figures out you’re illegal and calls ICE. Try to get a library card or have an overdue book Oops another potential opportunity for ICE to come calling.
