The University of Minnesota continues its battle for the minds of American youth. In a recent report by Alpha News, the university received a grant totaling $599,932 to conduct a study examining whether “anti-racist” parenting practices for white children between the ages of 5 and 8 can reduce their “racial bias.”
According to its profile on the William T. Grant Foundation website, the “CARPE DIEM (Courageous, Antiracist, and Reflective Parenting Efforts: Deepening Intentionality with Each Moment)” grant was described as an “online antiracist parenting intervention” for White mothers.
“Young White American children show higher levels of implicit bias against other racial groups than peers of color,” notes the grant profile.
“A potential driver of this racial bias gap may be racial inequalities in parents’ communication about ethnicity and race.”
To combat this, the study aimed to offer an “experimental design” to test whether a “mothers’ communication about race” can “reduce racial bias among White children.”
A University of Minnesota flyer advertising the study encouraged White mothers who were “interested in anti-racist parenting” to enroll their children, describing the participation as a way to support their children’s “antiracist journeys.”
“We hope that our findings will teach us how to best equip and support White parents and their children on their antiracist journeys,” read the flyer.
The anti-racist study is one of several initiatives undertaken by the University of Minnesota that seek to promote radical ideological views to children.
Previously, the University of Minnesota launched a project to develop “therapeutic” transgender dolls intended for children as young as 4 years old. According to the “MyGender Dolls” website, the dolls are designed to be a “play-based therapeutic approach for trans and gender diverse children — and the clinicians who support them.”
“We make gender fun!” the project’s website states.
“Our award-winning dolls and services are community-informed, research-driven, culturally-attuned, and grounded in gender-affirming clinical practice.”
In another example, the University of Minnesota Medical School was revealed to provide “Child & Adolescent Gender Services” through its Sexual and Gender Health Clinic. The Clinic offers services to children such as “gender affirming medication interventions, including puberty suppression, menstrual suppression, and hormone therapy.”
The University of Minnesota responded to Alpha News’ calls for comments on the anti-racist study, stating that the institution is “deeply committed to supporting the innovative research of our faculty and students.”
“This professor’s research reflects independent scholarly activity and was rigorously peer-reviewed and selected for funding by the foundation based on scientific merit,” read the statement.
