Swatting Call Brings Police to PCC CampusPasadena City College was locked down for more an hour late Friday afternoon after reports of a gunman on campus prompted a large police response, but authorities later determined the incident was likely a swatting call, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Anthony Russo.“They searched multiple buildings and floors, believing it was a real event,” Russo said. “But it was a prank call.”Russo said officers were dispatched at approximately 4:12 p.m. to the 1500 block of East Colorado Boulevard after receiving reports that a man with a gun had entered one of the college’s buildings.The caller described the alleged suspect as having curly hair tied in a ponytail and wearing a plaid shirt, Russo noted.“We responded, checked the building, and did not locate anyone matching the description,” Russo said.Surveillance footage was reviewed, but no suspect was seen.“It was probably a made-up call,” Russo said, adding that the incident was later classified as a swatting prank.Classes were in session at the time of the report. PCC locked down the campus and notified students to shelter in place.
