World Cup Fans Keep Discovering What Makes America Great
World Cup fans continue to be amazed by the United States and have a truly unique experience that you can only have in America.
The 2026 World Cup has produced plenty of memorable moments on the field. But some of the most entertaining stories have come from what happens after fans leave the stadium.
As thousands of visitors from Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America travel across the United States between matches, many have been documenting their experiences online. What has emerged is an unexpected theme: many foreign visitors seem to be having the time of their lives.
One viral video that has circulated widely asks a simple question:
Is the USA the BEST country in the world!? 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/CDmBoz1YrR
— ꧁♛𝓑𝓵✯𝓷𝓭𝓲𝓮𝓼♛꧂ (@heyitsmeCarolyn) June 12, 2026
The creator talks about her experiences in America and pushes back on many of the assumptions she once had about the country.
Another viral clip has generated millions of views with a caption joking that “the European mind is starting to comprehend” America as a visitor beams behind the wheel of a RAM pickup truck.

For Americans, it may seem ordinary. For many visitors, it appears to be part of an experience that is very different from what they expected before arriving.
Then there’s the food.
Hundreds of videos have captured European visitors reacting to the massive American food, free refills, and the quality of the food. All seemed stunned that a food could be that large, and some, like a refilled drink, could be free.

Some were even shocked and seemed amazed at a simple American Saturday morning.

Kids running a real lemonade stand (saving up for a scooter 🛵), Little League baseball, driving range, flags everywhere.Their minds are blown — ‘This is what the country is actually about.’

Americans are even getting in on the spirit, with one of the funniest viral moments involving an American fan getting members of England’s national team to sign a copy of the Declaration of Independence.

The videos are lighthearted, but together they tell a larger story. Many visitors appear genuinely surprised by how welcoming Americans have been and how much they have enjoyed traveling around the country.
No World Cup visitor has captured that phenomenon quite like Freddy.
The German fan known online as “World Cup Freddy” has become something of a celebrity during the tournament after chronicling a cross-country American road trip that has attracted hundreds of thousands of followers. Along the way, his posts have become a running showcase of the kind of hospitality many foreign visitors say they’ve encountered in the United States.
One of Freddy’s first viral moments came during a visit with the Houston Police Department, where officers treated the group to Texas barbecue.
Our most American experience so far🇺🇸
We met with the Houston Police department and ate typical Texan BBQ together. It looked in there just like in the movies. They even put on Ella Langley just for us.😂 pic.twitter.com/zN5r2gTlqL

Freddy later described it as the most American experience of the trip. At the same stop, he and his friends attended their first Major League Baseball game, watching the Houston Astros take on the Detroit Tigers.

The adventure only escalated from there.
Freddy made documented stops at iconic American destinations that many Americans barely think twice about.

Just had our first Waffle House experience at 1am. Great food, great prices, and friendly staff. 10/10, we will be coming back.😋 pic.twitter.com/QHgftpqfoX

While in Houston, Freddy and his friends received a private tour of NASA’s Johnson Space Center from astronaut Anne McClain. The group toured facilities, explored the Orion capsule trainer, and even spoke with astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

After repeatedly posting about listening to country singer Ella Langley while driving around America, Freddy received an invitation to one of her concerts and later got to meet her backstage.

The story became so popular that even travel problems turned into viral moments.
When severe weather canceled Freddy’s flight and threatened to keep him from reaching a World Cup match in Canada, social media users flooded him with offers of assistance. American Airlines eventually helped arrange alternate travel, while former NFL star J.J. Watt worked behind the scenes to help get the group where they needed to go.
Not on our watch, Freddy. Check your DMs 😉

Freddy isn’t the only visitor attracting attention.
Another traveler known online as Bob Travel, from Japan, has also built a following by documenting his American experiences, particularly his reactions to Texas culture, food, and the people he has encountered along the way.

The common thread through nearly all of these videos is that they are not really about politics.
They are about experiences.
Visitors are discovering barbecue joints, Waffle House at two in the morning, Buc-ee’s, baseball games, country music concerts, pickup trucks, road trips, and complete strangers willing to help them when something goes wrong.
For years, Americans have been told that much of the world views the United States as a country in decline. Yet many of the World Cup visitors documenting their travels seem to be leaving with a very different impression.
One British creator who splits time between Europe and the United States recently reflected on the trend, saying World Cup fans continue to be amazed by the United States and have a truly unique experience that you can only have in America.

THESE are the kind of people we want coming here. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/vtPHdWgZp1
— Mikale Olson (@realmikolson) June 20, 2026
That may be the biggest surprise of the World Cup so far.
Not the results on the field.
The realization by many visitors that America was not what they expected.
And judging by the millions of views these videos continue to generate, Americans have enjoyed watching that discovery happen in real time.

Naturally, ordinary Europeans are astonished at what they experience in the US.
Their mainstream media, just like ours, is a hive of progressive villainy and narrative, and they’ve probably never told the unvarnished truth in 50 years.
After decades of propaganda, it IS shocking to experience the actuality that has been deliberately hidden from you.
It is readily apparent that many Americans especially progressives and certain *cough* minorities are spoiled aholes who refuse to realize how good they have it and how lucky they are to live here. They should leave like Rosie O’Donnell but never come back unlike Rosie O’Donnell. We neither need nor want that type of ungrateful bitch.
She is insignificant. The real cancer is Bernie Sanders and his ilk.
It would be great to exchange all these ungrateful Americans for Europeans who appreciate just having a good time here.
My first time in Paris I wasn’t sure what to expect. I found 90% of the people pleasant and welcoming. When I got to Normandy it was 100%. I’ve been to many countries around the world. And for the most part the experience was the same. What you hear or have heard about countries is skewed by other’s personal feelings or animosity.
If our media bothered to be even a BIT balanced many worldwide would see the beauty and good of America. Unfortunately, too many who think they are better than the rest of us, literally tear down the USA. They attack when NOT warranted. I’ve traveled or worked with people form over 60 nations. Most are grateful for Americans. However, when you’re “top dog” people will go after you.
These guests are experiencing America as so many of us are fortunate to live America.
Every video I see, makes me more proud to be an American. These guests to our nation are taking the time to SEE who and what we really are – a very generous people (unless we’re getting ripped off – pols pay attention).
We have so much and take it for granted.
These guests have worked very hard to come here – either on a team or as a fan – it took them time to save the $$, plan the trip and then they get here – probably a bit hesitant at first and then, WALLAH!!! What a grand adventure. They are old enough to realize what is really here is real I especially liked the lady who mentioned the breadth of landscapes.
I was on River Street in Savannah GA at a top rated steak and seafood restaurant when we heard British accents in the booth next to us raving on Savannah fried seafood platter. They were World Cup visitors that wanted to see more of the US. I sent the restaurant’s signature desert, banana’s foster, to their table. They were dumbfounded that someone would send them a desert and thoroughly delighted with the desert.
BTW: At least once a month or so I will see a uniformed member of the military, sometimes with their families and pay for their meal. I had many bought for me when I was active duty, I am just paying it back.
Hard to keep the Hate America lie going when they can see it with their own eyes.
At least part of Europeans’ reaction to America is a result of scale. Remember, most Europeans come from countries where language, culture, geography, climate, etc. is relatively uniform, and traveling end-to-end of the country is a day trip. Meanwhile, here in the U.S., we have many regional dialects, cuisines, architectural styles, etc. We have climate that ranges from near-jungle to absolute desert, and a border-to-border trip takes over a week by car. Europeans are simply overwhelmed.
I love this.
The vile, stupid and evil nazi/communist/Islamofascist/Muslim supremacist Dhimmi-crat subversives and fifth columnists are perennially embittered, coddled, entitled, ungrateful and wretched ingrates. They gleefully unfairly vilify the U.S., 24/7, while taking advantage of its peace, prosperity, plenty and freedoms.
I hope they have learned, and remember, that this is what the Marxists, Muslims, Democrats, the media and other terrorists are committed to destroying; instead of making our freedoms and economic system commonplace, they undermine it, preferring to brainwash schoolchildren and perpetuate mental illness as “normal.”
Too bad so many of todays kids (and young adults, can’t, or won’t appreciate what they have.
I think our spoiled youth have a lot to learn from these visitors.
The USA media would be stunned also. But like Germans in WWII, remain in their 5 cities living a life apart from their own country.
“All seemed stunned that a food could be that large”
Never eat anything bigger than your head.
Thank goodness the World Cup (and the International visitors) avoided Oakland, St. Louis, Baltimore etc.
Sad that the majority of people that criticize our nation is our own people.
You sure about that? As Subotai says, TWANLOC.
“The realization by many visitors that America was not what
-they expected-the haters in media and academia told them.”The young lady could find a nice American guy and if done right could become a American
It is startling to see all the positive comments. However, it is nothing new. I used to organize a soccer camp in our town in Massachusetts and bring over British Coaches before we had many of our own like now. The coaches all marveled at the hospitality and friendliness of most Americans, the quality of the beef and size of the rooms in ordinary houses.
The joy that we everyday Americans have at seeing these people from other countries enjoying the greatness we have here may even be equal to their joy at experiencing it.
