Senator Susan Collins of Maine Begins Commenting on Graham Platner’s Mounting Controversies
“The allegations against Graham Platner are extremely troubling and serious, and he owes the people of Maine a detailed answer”
Senator Susan Collins of Maine is a provably liberal Republican. Yet Democrats have decided to call her a fascist, while running a candidate who had an actual Nazi tattoo. Conservatives have never been fans of Collins, but I’m betting she’ll win every single Republican vote in Maine this year.
Graham Platner, the Democrat candidate who was recruited by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), has shown himself to be a toxic figure. It’s hard to keep up with the scandals around this man, but the Nazi tattoo should have been the first clue, and a disqualifying one.
Susan Collins has not said much about Platner, until recently. When speaking about him, Collins comes off as someone who has been around in politics. She doesn’t take cheap shots, but contends that Platner’s issues are legitimate cause for concern. She also displays a lot of class. Certainly more than Platner has.
From The Hill:
Collins: Platner ‘owes the people of Maine a detailed answer’ in light of allegations
Maine Sen. Susan Collins (R) accused her Democratic opponent on the day of the state’s Senate primary race of shying away from addressing accusations about his alleged past conduct toward women.
“The allegations against Graham Platner are extremely troubling and serious, and he owes the people of Maine a detailed answer,” Collins told reporters on Capitol Hill Tuesday morning.
Watch the video and note two things. Platner is introduced as a Marine veteran and oyster farmer. Veteran. Farmer. Could the narrative framing be any more obvious? Also note how his infamous tattoo is described as ‘resembling’ a Nazi symbol. It didn’t resemble a Nazi symbol, it was a Nazi symbol.
ABC’s Mary Bruce frets on Wednesday’s ‘World News Tonight’ that “Republican Senator Susan Collins [is] pouncing” on the series of scandals against “oyster farmer” Democrat Graham Platner, including “the tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol” pic.twitter.com/cw5PzeLP2O

If the name of that journalist sounds familiar, it’s for a reason. Media critic Stephen L. Miller explains:
Reminder that Mary Bruce has never answered how her question ended up in the hands of Joe Biden prior to her asking it in April 2023. https://t.co/sdO8zDp5gp pic.twitter.com/LmkV965WLA

In this video, Collins addresses Platner’s controversies and challenges the media to hold him accountable:
The liberal media has been blocking for @grahamformaine.
I asked @SenatorCollins about it today in Portland. She asked the liberal @PressHerald to start asking Platner about his controversial issues.

Last week, we reported that Platner’s early lead against Collins was evaporating.
That trend seems to be continuing.

Graham Platner is a perfect symbol of the Democrats’ lust for power.
They have no principles whatsoever, they just want control and their ongoing defense of Graham Platner proves it.

Just call him the OysterFuhrer. That is what he is after all.
He’s 100% disabled
How do you get 100% disability from the service of you can be an oyster farmer and run for Senator?
Depends on the nature, whatever it is, of the disability. Not all are immediately visible.
.
Are you referring to his Onanism in Port-a-Potties?
Swalwell got sandbagged by a hostile diversion, but at least Californians can plead that it was a really cute Asian chick. Maine Democrats will have to suffer the ignominy of their guy getting sidelined by the Ty-D-Bol Man.
Obviously a mental disability.
Graham Platner, a Marine Corps veteran and political candidate, has a 100% disability rating from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which he attributes to herniated discs, shoulder and knee injuries, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Don;t know about PTSD. Don’t know how he can do oyster farming or even run for office if those physical injuring are severe.
Military disability is not like civilian disability.
It does not preclude you from doing other physical work, you are just too disabled to be in the military.
Had an acquaintance who is 100% disabled but yet did a fair amount of physical work. He was an infantryman and involved in an IED incident in Iraq or Afghanistan. He suffered many injuries including cranial trauma. When he first came back he said he was in a wheel and would just sit there and drool. But with all of the therapy he was where he was working.

this explains a lot of it. for the record I am 60% disabled, injured knees causing back issues in germany in 1988, last re-eval was in 2018 and have had 2 more knee surgeries in 2024. its cumulative score. I tend to wait many years between evals. have had 3 since initial when getting out in 1989.
Quick explanation on VA disability ‘math’. Image a football field, 100 years long, that’s a person rated at 100% ABLE, no disabilities evaluated and rated by VA. They file a claim and list the conditions they believe are serious enough to matter. Then the VA conducts a very adversarial exam process, mine lasted about 13 months concurrent to the Army Medical Board review of my ability to continue active service.
Ratings (not mine FWIW) in as follows for each Condition:
A. 50%
B. 50%
C. 50%
D. 30%
E. 20%
So we just add all those up and it totals 200% right? Nope, not.even close. Back to the football field and the 100% ABLE baseline. We apply condition A at 50% and we go to the 50 yard line. So if we apply condition B (50%) we score? Nope. We apply the next highest rated condition to the 50% remaining rated as ABLE. So 50+50 is actually not 100 but 75. Apply condition C (50%) to the remaining 25% ABLE and we go to 87.5%. Apply condition D (30%)to the remaining 12.5% and we’re at 91.25 %. Apply the last rated condition, E (20%) to remaining 8.75% Able and we’re now at 93% not 200%. BUT we round up under VA math under the preceding calculations and that gets us to 100%. Initially that’s gonna be a temporary rating not a final rating. About 18 months later if not sooner there will be a follow-up VA exam to determine if any conditions improved, worsened or are stable. Might be a few exams over the years or if they conditions merit a finding of ‘static’ then the VA stops follow-up exams and the ratings become ‘permanent’.
The difference between VA and the more familiar Social Security Disability is the purpose. SSDI is when you can’t work at ALL usually based on one condition. VA disability compensation is about rating each individual condition and their aggregate impact, not a single catastrophic injury.
I predicted some time ago that within a decade from end of the 20 year GWOT we’d begin to see the same historical pattern repeating about VA claims/compensation. Too expensive, too easy, unearned, especially with the modern medical advances and the determination on the field to get the wounded evacuated under an hour to field surgery then back to Germany and or the USA for higher levels of care. We had many more wounded which survived than prior wars. Better armor on vehicles, plate carriers, tactics and awareness saved lives. VA costs for higher survival rates are naturally are higher, especially for TBI and PTSD which finally lost their stigma and Veterans are finally claiming them from GWOT but …as always after the war ends the public doesn’t want to follow through on paying out VA benefits b/c after all the ‘war’ is over .. IOW …thank you for your service, now go away and die off b/c your benefit claims that the Congress promised and the public cheered on during the war are more expensive than we thought when we voted to send Troops to fight.
He’s a bum.
This is like getting called out by Emily Post.
So we need a senator with PTSD
Sounds about right
Seth Moulton is supposed to have PTSD and he hungers to be a senator. There are other current congress critters with mental illness of one form or another, Fetterman comes to mind,
Let’s not brush over the experiences of Senators and Reps that came out of combat in WWII/Korea. Dollars to donuts many of them had PTSD and TBI the ‘invisible wounds/injuries’ of warfare, but b/c of social stigma didn’t seek help. The social stigma surrounding PTSD and TBI, while lessened, still lingers today. Far too many people are way too eager to see a Veteran without a visible catastrophic injury (confined to a wheelchair, severely burned, an amputee) and assume that b/c there’s no visible injury that the particular combat Veteran has nothing wrong with them/no disability/no impairment. Some who recognize PTSD/TBI presume this diagnosis makes them somehow less than/incapable. While it could result in social impairment it doesn’t have to result in the Veteran living like a hermit.
This guy, under his fake newfound sensitivity, is about retribution and punishment for those that don’t conform to his sick ideas.
You’ve just described any random Democrat.
Susan needs to go piss into the wind. How do you think that Comrade Kreeper has come to such prominence? How about a little miss milquetoast who seems to “the manor” have been appointed. TERM LIMITS and be done with her even at the burden of a one term oyster rancher. Guess it beats working for a living. Closet creepers can never keep in the closet. Just imagine what else may brooding in his sordid life misadventures.
You cannot hate the media enough
Vote Platner! Defend Der Fatherland!
“She also displays a lot of class. Certainly more than Platner has.”
With all due respect to the gracious RINO, that bar lies somewhere near the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
“Class” won’t win Susan Collins re-election against a bunch of zoo animal Democrats and Marxists who aren’t even human. They dropped a few chromosomes when they took on their terminal TDS.
