Same Script, Different Interview: Talarico’s Memorized Talking Point Goes Viral
“Safe to say Talarico rehearsed this line very thoroughly.”
Politicians of every stripe rely on talking points, and voters generally understand that campaign appearances often feature a well-rehearsed stump speech. But interviews are supposed to be different. When reporters ask questions, candidates are expected to at least give the impression that they are engaging in a genuine conversation rather than reciting lines from a script.
That’s why a pair of recent interviews with Texas state Rep. James Talarico raised eyebrows. As YouTuber Matt Christiansen was preparing for his show on Sunday, he noticed something unusual: Talarico delivered the exact same response — verbatim — in two separate interviews last week, creating the distinct impression that he had memorized the answer in advance.
Christiansen posted clips of Talarico reciting the remarks to interviewers at CBS and MSNBC on X Sunday, writing, “Safe to say Talarico rehearsed this line very thoroughly.” Indeed.
In an apparent effort to convey that his campaign is attracting support beyond the Democratic base, Talarico offered the following account in both interviews:
I’ve gone to every corner of this state over the course of this campaign, from Beaumont to El Paso, from Amarillo to Brownsville, and everywhere in between. And we have had tens of thousands of Texans showing up to rally with us and I can’t tell you the number of people who come up to me at the end of these events and whisper, ‘I’m not a Democrat.’
I was cutting some clips for tonight's show intro, and noticed him say the exact same thing in two different interviews this week.

To be clear, I did cut…

One X user noted that former Vice President Kamala Harris developed a reputation for doing the same thing, frequently delivering identical or near-identical responses across multiple interviews and appearances. In fact, critics compiled numerous supercuts stitching together clips of Harris repeating the same lines verbatim, often to the point where the videos could be layered over one another almost perfectly. Voters notice when candidates’ answers sound less like spontaneous responses and more like memorized scripts.
President Donald Trump has called Talarico “a weird guy.” He is. And he has “weird ideas.” He believes the U.S. southern border should function like a “front porch,” that there should be a “giant welcome mat out front and a lock on the door.” He claims that “God is nonbinary” and in a 2022 speech, he advocated for reducing meat consumption for environmental reasons.

But he also comes across as inauthentic, particularly as he pivots toward the general election and attempts to distance himself from some of his earlier remarks. In fact, it’s hard not to notice how frequently people reach for the word “inauthentic” when discussing Talarico.
Perhaps nothing illustrates that better than the now-famous image of Talarico biting into a turkey drumstick while trying to look as though he’s savoring it — a moment that, once seen, is hard to unsee.
When asked what he loves outside of family and friends, Talarico answered simply, "Trans children."
This is not only weird and creepy, it also comes off as inauthentic and preachy. It’s such an insane combination of cringe it really makes me question everything about him.

One X user summed it up perfectly: “This guy is clearly manufactured on a few different levels. Who he really is will be a mystery, but anyone willing to do this can be slotted into the ‘soulless husk’ category.”
Talarico does appear as a “soulless husk.”
This guy is clearly manufactured on a few different levels. Who he really is will be a mystery, but anyone willing to do this can be slotted into the “soulless husk” category.
This whole idea Dems have of manufacturing candidates really flies in the face of the idea behind…

Despite all of the personal baggage Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton brings to the race, he has a viable path to victory. If he makes Talarico’s perceived inauthenticity the central issue of the race, he can win. Voters are often willing to overlook a candidate’s flaws, but they are far less forgiving when they conclude that a politician is playing a role rather than revealing who he really is. My guess is that Democrats see this weakness too, which is why so much effort has gone into carefully curating Talarico’s image.

Democrats do this all the time.
People have made collages with 20+ ‘news’ shows from all the major networks saying literally THE EXACT SAME SENTENCES describing Democrat politicians. Word for word.
They did this a lot with Trump when he was battling against several cases in the courts. Any time something leaned against Trump, every media source imaginable would use the same words or phrase to describe the reverse – “the walls are closing in,” “is this the final nail in the coffin,” “the end for Trump,” and so on.
Rush would play clips with the MSM networks covering the same things in the same order. The phraseology would remind me of grade school assignments required you to use “Trump” and “walls are closing in” in a sentence. Clearly, they were told the talking points and told to “say in your own words”.
Rush pointed this out decades ago and had a segment on his radio show with multiple Democrats saying the exact same thing.
Remember “gravitas?” A word virutually nobody used suddenly, and “inexplicably” (dare I say magically?”) appeared on the lips of every “reporter” and politician, simultaneously when referring to Bush/Cheney.
That just screams coordination through talking points. Of course, you can’t blame the Dems. Look how Obama and Kamala sounded off ‘prompter! Biden was hopeless even with pictures and crayon instructions.
It would be a rewarding task to assemble a list of such “suddenly-popular” words and phrases, from “gravitas” back then to “stochastic violence” and “vindictive prosecution” today.
If you wanted to go back further, there’s always “Quemoy and Matsu.”
How’s about Paxton focus on the actual things he’s done in Real Life, the results he’s achieved when dealing with Real Life situations and give a f88k about this manufactured Democrat 🙄
This Talarico fella is a dime a dozen Democrat with no soul, no authenticity and no ability to think for himself.
A he has been
This guy is not right in the head (more so than most democrats). The fact that Beto likes him is another strike against him. He would benefit from a Fetterman-Stroke, He might think more clearly after that.
I still seriously wonder if Fetterman’s brain didn’t rewire itself while it was healing from the stroke.
This goofball Ned Flanders wannabe is just another in a series of manufactured Statewide candidates the d/prog run in Texas. Abortion Barbie and Beto both had their hypothetical niche of untapped voters who gonna rush the barricades to cast ballots and flip TX blue. Same.with this guy. He may be the more dangerous in that his lefty infused milquetoast version of woke (not) Christianity is pretty standard in mainstream liberal denominations captured by leftist wokiestas and in some of the mega church grifters seeking to expand their base. Whenever there’s a rainbow flag or female leadership at the church look for lefty nonsense centered not on actual Christian beliefs but on being ‘non judgemental’ which many folks use as an excuse to avoid consequences for their behavior, past or present. Same.sort of churches Only fans ‘models’ show up to in search of a beta husband who will overlook her libertine/lewd/lascivious for profit past when their subscriber count finally drops off.
Remember “liberation theology”?
Parallel pathways but not to heaven.
He’s Episcopalian? The National Cathedral certainly has far better architecture, choir, and organ than his folding-chair church, but the beliefs seem quite similar.
He’s PCUSA (Presbyterian Church U.S.A.) the ultraliberal pseudo-Christian denomination.
As with other wokiesta clergy he is more concerned with being ‘nice’ or ‘inclusive’ than applying the central doctrine of Christianity; belief in and following the actual teachings. His brand is just another variant of the false ‘works over faith’ doctrine.
He is a manufactured android AI bot. Harcord Fenton Mudd!!!
Not only inauthentic, but plastic. Paxton can claim he’s a tough Texan and that means he’s no virgin in politics or life, which Talarico would surely claim to be if it helped. So which do Texans prefer, a fighter or a panderer?
Paxton, I’m in Texas and we will vote Paxton
“he now-famous image of Talarico biting into a turkey drumstick”
How curious.
I never saw this image, so I websearched:
“talarico” turkey drumstick image
All I got from DuckDuckGo were food images, not a single one with Talarico in it (despite “forcing” Talarico).
Searching the same in Google, it came right up multiple times.
I understand DDG leeches off Bing. Make of that what you will.
Yet the reporters ask the same questions over and over, and are reading from a script.
Talarico’s respond may be rehearsed, but if you are being asked the same question over and over, and you have a good answer, there is nothing wrong with repeating that answer.
Except that repeating the same answer verbatim makes you look inauthentic. If a candidate can’t wing it or improvise on a rehearsed answer, how smart or quick is he? Not very.
Like using the same pick-up line on a lovely lady twice in the same evening – creepy and inauthentic.
Is it hot in here or is it just you?
If the answer to the same question is, in the mind of the candidate and the campaign, perfect, why wouldn’t you repeat it?
If that answer is what you want you want voters to remember, why wouldn’t you say the same thing?
There is no reason to change an answer to meet some idea that a candidate has to be different just to be different to meet some expectation of “improvisation.”
Especially if all those people you met from Beaumont to El Paso, from Amarillo to Brownsville, and everywhere in between, took great pride in their lawns.
Fair enough. But a genuine candidate would say: “Everyone asks me that question. My answer is on the record. Next question.”
Your position on a subject or issue shouldn’t change that much so your answer to similar questions from different people would probably be the same but they won’t be verbatim. Doing so makes you look fake and people pick up on that.
right…..
and obama really liked shotguns and hillary really likes blk people and fjb really was sane and on and on it goes
they are communistnazi filth
its that simple
Biden liked the shotguns. Obama preferred muezzins to muzzles.

There is so much stupid in that photo I doubt too many people think it’s real. All I’ll say about it is at least he had on ear and eye protection for the photo op.
Shooting clay targets off a shelf, I guess.
Ah! You mean he “liked” shotguns like Tampon Timmy “liked” shotguns and Lurch Kerry “liked” shotguns.
“The most beautiful sound in the world,” according to the contemptibly Islamophilic narcissist-incompetent-dunce.
And we have had tens of thousands of Texans showing up to rally with us and I can’t tell you the number of people who come up to me at the end of these events and whisper, ‘I’m not a Democrat.’
Notice how he doesn’t say the next line.
“I’m a communist.”
His “tens of thousands” are probably like the huge crowds that showed up for FJB, all camera angles. Plus they probably travel from venue to venue because they are paid to do so.
A vegan, or vegan-adjacent, tranny-lover, seems like someone who represents the quintessence of the cultural and moral bankruptcy and stupidity of the contemporary communist/Islamofascist/Muslim supremacist Dhimmi-crat Party.
This response of his is a similar answer other politicians have given. No one is going to a rally or something and going up to a politician to whisper anything. Nobody cares if your a Democrat or a Republican. It’s what type of one you are.
They brought out a beard for him.
