New York Democrats Pass Legislation That Changes ‘Mother’ to ‘Gestating Parent’

New York Democrats Pass Legislation That Changes ‘Mother’ to ‘Gestating Parent’

“It’s an example of how out of tune the New York legislature is. It’s an unnecessary and wasteful use of time”

Democrats in the New York Legislature have passed a child-custody bill that replaces terms such as “mother” and “father” with “gestating parent” and “non-gestating parent.”

This is the kind of Orwellian wordplay that sucks all of the humanity out of certain words. You have to wonder if that was the goal. If so, mission accomplished.

The New York Post reports:

Dems replace ‘mother’ with ‘gestating parent’ in latest woke rewrite of NY law

Mom’s not the word.

A woke new bill erases the terms “mother” and “father” from state child custody and parental laws — a gender-neutral rewriting that’s expected to spark a flood of similarly clunky legislation.

“Mother” would be replaced with “gestating parent” while “father” becomes “non-gestating parent” or “parent” in family court along with in domestic and education law, under the legislation, passed this week by state Democrats.

“Paternity” proceedings to determine a child’s biological father would meanwhile become “parentage” cases, under the bill, which was rammed through the Assembly in March and of the Senate this week.

A “putative father” — also known as a deadbeat dad — would now be called “an alleged parent” in official state records, under the bill, which was sponsored by liberals Sen. Luis Sepulveda (D-Bronx) and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-Westchester) and will go to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s desk for approval.

“It’s woke culture run amok. It’s one-upmanship,” said state Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar, a former longtime state Senate and Assembly staffer.

“It’s an example of how out of tune the New York legislature is. It’s an unnecessary and wasteful use of time,” Kassar said

He said the gender-neutral bill is likely to lead to a stampede of others, and called state lawmakers’ priorities backwards — considering they were almost two months late in passing a state budget.

“Imagine people who are considering moving to New York seeing this and saying, ‘Do I need this silliness?’ This is a really weird group of elected officials. It comes out of left field,” he said.

I did some additional searching on this just to make sure it’s real.

Sure enough, CBS News in Albany covered it:

New York state Legislature passes bill removing gender-specific terms from custody laws

A bill surrounding state child custody and parental laws passed the State Assembly and Senate this week and now heads to the governor’s desk.

The legislation would replace gender-specific terms like “mother,” “father,” and “paternity” used in places like family court with terms like “parentage,” “gestating parent,” and “non-gestating parent.”

The bill aims to make custody law more inclusive for LGBTQ+ parents and families who use assisted reproduction or surrogacy.

FOX News covered it too. Utterly crazy.

New York is lost. Stick a fork in it, it’s done.

I am curious whether NY State Judge Karen would refuse to process paperwork that fails to use the new enlightened nomenclature.

Why is New York State doing this? What are their motivations? Why the need?

    What’s next? Birth Certificates

Illinois’ birth certificates no longer use mother and father.

Now, its Parent 1 and Parent 2

Nah, I’ll tell you their motivations:

“A woke new bill erases the terms “mother” and “father” from state child custody and parental laws”

Because when you have a newly consecrated “couple” composed of two men, or two women, or a man and a farm animal, or a woman and a turkey baster, or any other combination that the woke left has recently sanctified, the last thing you need is some dirtbag couple evading prosecution for child abuse on the technicality that “neither one of us is a father, and only one of us is a mother,” and the like. Rewriting these laws is the sort of legislative “emergency” that provides orgasms for legislators’ lawyer pals who bill by the minute.

Nevertheless, I consider all these legislators to be gestating-parent seeders.

The name “democrat” needs to be legally changed to “asshole party.”

First: there is NO need for this. Their motivations: to undermine societal norms because nothing is sacred, not even motherhood. Next they will drop the word “Mom” from the lexicon. What terminology will they come up with for fathers/dads? One shudders to think what’s coming.

Does this mean the State of NY will now foot the bill to replace Federal assistance programs whose eligibility is linked to Motherhood? Can’t expect the Feds to send money to a State which just eliminated the category of ‘Mother’ and declared they don’t have any of those. For that matter the inability of the State to identify what a ‘Mother’ is calls into question their ability to process or administer all sorts of Federally funded benefit programs which States used to be trusted to administer. Then there’s the potential for problems with family court orders. Full faith and credit is one thing but if a Red State doesn’t recognize gestating parent or non gestating parent as legal categories how do they expect cooperation if the Red State says ‘we don’t have any ‘non gestating parents’ or ‘putative parents’ in this State to try and enforce your court order/bench warrant.

The vile, stupid and evil communist/Islamofascist/Muslim supremacist Dhimmi-crats are all about appropriating and refashioning words, in the most euphemistic, propagandistic and dishonestly Orwellian manner, possible.

This despicable and misogynistic tranny wordplay is in the same vein as the descendants of Arab Muslim invaders from Arabia, in Gaza and the West Bank, brazenly and greasily rebranding themselves as “Palestinians,” co-opting the name of an ancient Roman province that was founded 600 years before Submission’s founding, and that references the Jews’ ancient enemy, the Phiistiines

Are mothers who did not actually bear the child some other form of parent?

Why?

Is this just the rebound fight with the trans?

Will women never stand up for women?

So much BS with feminism, it’s easy when there’s so little push

Bit never when it matters. They never stood up for the women in the ME and they won’t stand up for their own mothers

Democrats have embraced misogyny and are now advocates of a new totalitarian patriarchy.

Interesting that the vile Dhimmi-crats have gleefully allied with and embraced “Submission” and “trans” ideology; the two most blatantly misogynistic, anti-girls/women ideologies on Earth.

Language is important it has a huge impact on our thinking and reasoning and Democrats know that. Wen you say gender affirming care versus hormone replacement, and you say reproductive health versus abortion and unhoused people versus homeless and undocumented versus illegal alien it completely changes the conversation and reframes all of the discussion. This why they do this to restrict and restrain our capacity to think and discuss these issues by predetermining the lens and frames we fall into. It’s setting the agenda and the outcome, because if I say unhoused then homelessness is a housing problem and not a mental health issue. If I say undocumented immigrants than the swarm of illegal aliens in this country is a matter of getting them proper documentation. not criminal activity And if I say gestating persons than there are no women’s issues anymore period its back to reproduction again.

Why did the little boy put a disclaimer on the bottom of the Gestating Parent Day card?

To clarify that “I love you” was a non-binding statement subject to a 10% raise in his allowance.

The democrat party has become a network of individual committees of public safety across various states. Good thing the public school system has dropped any pretense of actually teaching history, otherwise people might be getting a little nervous. Ignorance is bliss.

(snark on)

So does this mean that a mother who bore offspring and then had a hysterectomy now is a non-gestating parent like a father? Two dads, not a mom and a dad? But aren’t there obvious differences in their physical appearance?

My neighbor lady across the street has a son and a daughter and had a hysterectomy, but she is “mom” to not only her own kids but a couple of others whose home life isn’t good. She’s no longer “mom” but “gestating parent” to the others? But though she isn’t their _parent_, to them she’s “mom”.

These politicians are confused. I’m confused, too.

(snark off)

Guess they’ll now have to rewrite all those exciting revolutionary slogans from the ’60s. For example:

“Up against the wall, gestating parent copulator!”

Sorry, it just doesn’t have quite the same impact as the original.

So in NY men can have babies now, right?
And does this “Party of Science ” have any scientific facts to back this up.

A level playing ground, what. When men can get pregnant, start bearing children and begin lactating (with or without some contraption strapped to their chest) they, too, can be classified as a “gestating parent.” Insanity knows no bounds.

Our society has gone completely bonkers. It seems that nowadays, the “party of science” doesn’t know what a woman is while traditional Christians respect basic biology.

There’s a good, old-fashioned phrase to describe the Richard Levines and Bruce Jenners: eunuchs in female garb.

Where do they stand on Foie gras? That has been the urgent task at hand in Portland, because the feral homeless infestation and plummeting commercial property values are just a minor concern now.

Don’t worry. You can still buy fentanyl next to those stores.

There is no longer any hope for New York, California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota to ever return to normal. Sadly, it has become clear that the elected representatives controlling these states are bonkers.

So why do trannies reject the term mother and father? If they believe they have changed gender they should embrace it?
