Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy appeared on FOX News last night and revealed that, like many Americans, he is deeply concerned about the rise of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
He then floated the possibility of running for mayor of New York City in response. I hope he’s serious.
Portnoy is young, has huge name recognition, and a massive social media following. He loves America and understands economics.

And now he’s just running rampant and kicking them all out,” Portnoy said in a veiled swing at Mamdani.Three far-left Congressional candidates backed by the mayor won their primaries last Tuesday, knocking out their establishment Democrat opponents…“Sometimes, I do feel like it’s my duty. I can’t turn away. I feel like I could make a change. Maybe I do run in politics,” Portnoy said.

Whether Portnoy actually runs or not is up to him, but the hard truth is that younger conservatives like him need to start stepping up to run for office in American cities and the GOP has to get behind them.
In many cases, the people who live in these places are net even getting the option of voting for a serious Republican candidate. The left knows this and is taking full advantage of the situation.
