San Diego Area Veteran Known for ‘Trump House’ Dies Following Violent Attack
Whatever the motive for the brutal beating, the real indictment belongs to the state of California, which both abandons its mentally ill to the streets and wages constant political war against President Donald Trump.
Blood still stains the concrete outside the modest Escondido, California, home that neighbors once called the “Trump house,” a place better known for its flags and patriotic displays.
On what should have been the quiet lead‑up to Memorial Day weekend, the homeowner and Army veteran who adored President Donald Trump with unembarrassed zeal was beaten so brutally in front of his own doorstep that he would never come home again.
A 69-year-old man known in his San Diego County neighborhood as the owner of the “Trump house” has died from injuries suffered when he was brutally assaulted outside of his home.
Kerry George Sheron of Escondido was hospitalized in critical condition last week after he was attacked outside his MAGA-themed residence at East Mission Avenue and Buchanan Street around 2 p.m., according to the city Police Department. The alleged attacker, Thomas Caleb Butler, 32, fled on foot and was apprehended that day.
Butler initially was charged with attempted murder, cruelty to an elder resulting in great bodily injury, making a criminal threat and battery, according to the San Diego County district attorney’s office. He pleaded not guilty Friday.
On Sunday evening, police were notified that Sheron had died. The cause of death is pending determination by the county medical examiner.

Serurity footage showed Sheron was downed by a single punch to the jaw, followed by several hits to the head. A truly awful way to die.
Security video obtained by NBC 7 from across the street shows the altercation. The bystander told NBC 7 the homeowner was standing in the front yard when the suspect came up and attacked him. The witness tried to intervene before the suspect fled on foot before officers arrived.
Ross Garcia said Sheron suffered severe injuries during what prosecutors described as an unprovoked attack.
“It was a single punch to the jaw,” Ross Garcia said. “The victim then falls to the floor, and there are subsequent hits to the victim’s head area.”

The accused has plead not guilty to the charge. News outlets assert there is no proof that the attack was politically motived but perhaps was a random act of violence from someone with mental illness.
Butler pleaded not guilty Friday afternoon to several charges, including attempted murder.
Police have not released a motive for the attack, though the home’s prominent political display has raised questions about a possible political motivation.
Joseph, who says he became friends with Sheron and his wife through conversations while walking past the home, does not believe the attack was politically motivated. He says he knows Butler and describes him as a known transient with mental health issues.
“He lives where he can. A lot of randomly yelling in the air,” Joseph said.
Maria Sheron, the victim’s wife, is struggling with grief. Well-wishers across the community are dropping off flowers at the “Trump House.”
“I feel a lot of pain in my heart,” she said.
Despite the heartbreak of dealing with the loss of her husband after a brutal attack, she said she also feels bad for the suspect’s family.
“I’m feeling bad for the mother for the guy who do that, because he ruined his life,” said Maria. “I’m feeling bad for her, but the stuff he did to my husband is terrible.”
After his passing, friends, family and neighbors had gathered outside Sheron’s home in Escondido, waving American flags. Others were seen dropping off flowers and flags on Monday.
Whether this tragedy was born of anti-Trump-rage or the random act of a violent and mentally-ill transient, the result is the same: an Army veteran who loved his country and asked nothing more than to live freely on his own porch is dead, beaten down days before one of the most patriotic days on the American calendar.
Escondido police assert that they found no evidence of political motivation, and the accused (himself a Navy veteran) reportedly suffered from severe PTSD and untreated mental illness that left him a transient in the very neighborhood where Kerry Sheron flew his flags.
Whatever the motive for the brutal beating, the real indictment belongs to the state of California, which both abandons its mentally ill to the streets and wages constant political war against President Donald Trump.

Will the admin stand up for their supporters and federally prosecute this murder? They should
Damn the ACLU. It used to be that people who were mentally ill would be housed in a treatment facility where they could not hurt others while they recovered. If the perp was getting the treatment he needed, this wouldn’t have happened.
This may be an attack by a mentally ill individual but the mentally ill individual in question may be one of the many leftist thugs embracing political violence these days. What’s the treatment for that? Cancelling one’s NY Times subscription? But the facts are not all in yet here of course.
Tragically, yet again, Kaiser’s Maxim remains undefeated.
I had to look this up.
For the uninitiated:
“The Left will always, eventually, resort to violence, threats of violence, or glorification of violence to advance their agenda. Always.”
I’d amend the maxim, slightly, to refer to “The Left and Islamofascists…”
The vile and evil communist/Islamofascist/Muslim supremacist Dhimmi-crats claim to lament and oppose political violence and terrorism, but, their wretched and wicked party is responsible for the vast majority of that violence and terrorism.
Facts are stubborn things.
And, even if the culprit in this attack is found to have been motivated by mental illness, as opposed to political animus, my point is still valid.
This event is an all around tragedy. An older Veteran gets murdered by a younger Veteran. Firstly where’s the local government in this? If the ‘transient’ younger Veteran was known to folks in the neighborhood he was known to local LEO/social services. If he wasn’t…. that’s even worse. We need more info on the younger Veteran and his ‘PTSD’. Lots of Veterans have PTSD and 99.9% do not commit murder. Did this guy have a diagnosis? Did he have a VA rating for it? What sort of treatment was he getting, if any? Did he seek treatment? Was he self medicating on Jack Daniels, weed and psilocybin or something else? Much is unknown but what is absolutely clear is a lack of effective intervention by the State/City to remove this guy from the street, get him into a facility to try and help him. The same folks who would have opposed an involuntary commitment for this guy need to figure out an effective alternative that protects the public or get out of the way.
Mental illness or no mental illness, put him away for the rest of his life.
as I posted the other day…the ada has sooo many things that allow you to claim disability that it has ,, as usual ,,,, turned into a self congratulatory circle jerk for the left as the preferred excuse on why their people can be violent with impunity …sure some fake headline will appear about them getting x amount of prison time and then viola!! back out onto the streets

He should never again be allowed to be in public
They kill us, again and again, and we do nothing.
They torture, mutilate and rape our children and we do nothing
What will it take for us to take up arms? To defend our loved ones, our homes, our countries?
How much more blood will need to be spilled before we act?
Or will we rot? Our murdered corpses moldering into that high moral horse we sat smugly on while our enemies slaughtered us.
The future is blood. It will be theirs if we act.
But more likely, it will be ours, gurgling out through our endless whining lips because we don’t want to lower ourselves to the acts that must be undertaken to end this.
“What will it take for us to take up arms?”
First, we’d have to live in a region where that option hadn’t already been taken from us.
“Never forget, even for an instant, that the one and only reason anybody has for taking your gun away is to make you weaker than he is, so he can do something to you that you wouldn’t allow him to do if you were equipped to prevent it. This goes for burglars, muggers, and rapists, and even more so for policemen, bureaucrats, and politicians.”
— L. Neil Smith and Aaron Zelman
I moved across the country specifically to retain that option. It was a lot more expensive to me than, say, resigning from a New York food co-op.
