To say Democrats have lost it after a wave of court decisions related to redistricting in recent weeks didn’t go their way would be the understatement of the year, with their true colors shining through in a way that confirms the sheer desperation that has set in.
Here’s a brief recap before we get to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ latest antics:
Adding insult to injury for Democrats has been the actions of red states that are eager to get their maps into compliance with the SCOTUS ruling, with Tennessee being the most recent to pass and sign into law a new map that could take them from an 8-1 R/D congressional delegation to a 9-0. This action ultimately prompted longtime Democrat Rep. Steve Cohen (TN-09) to announce Friday that he was dropping his reelection bid.
Democrats are incensed to the point that you’ve got prominent figures like “super-lawyer” Marc Elias seemingly advocating for the abolishment of Virginia’s government. And California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has even tried to cast doubt on SCOTUS’s legitimacy.
So, amid all the chaos and disarray Democrats find themselves in, what’s a political party to do?
Turn to… twice-failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris?
Former Vice President Kamala was dragged online for a laundry list of progressive “bad ideas” she wants to bring to the table at what she’s dubbed a “No Bad Idea Brainstorm” for Democrats.Harris said during a Wednesday night livestream on the “Win with Black Women” podcast that Democrats need “an expanded playbook” and need to consider radical positions ahead of the 2026 midterm elections — including abolishing the Electoral College and packing the Supreme Court.“Look, this is a moment where there are no bad ideas, a ‘No Bad Idea Brainstorm’ is what I’d like to call it,” Harris said in the video, which quickly went viral on social media.
Harris went on to say that:
We invite a conversation about multi-member districts. We talk about—look, if we win the Senate, which we should and we will, then the Senate Judiciary Committee should have rules that they put in place so when these people come before as nominees to the Supreme Court and lie, that they are held to account and consequence.
Not just that somebody goes on cable news and says they lied, but that there are rules in place to actually penalize people for lying to a Senate Judiciary Committee. We agree that it is right to have ethics rules for Supreme Court justices, and let’s put those in place. Let’s talk about statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C. These are the things I think that we’ve got to do. We’ve got to neutralize these red states from cheating, including blue states expanding their maps. And all of this, I think, is—look, we gotta fight fire with fire. These folks are playing to win. We gotta play to win too.
Watch:
It didn’t get lost on people that Harris was essentially advocating to rig or end the processes that were in place when she lost in 2024:
All supposedly in an effort to “save democracy” or whatever. Sure.
