Man accused of threatening Boston University deans, making mass shooting references
A Boston University law student is being held pending a dangerousness hearing after allegedly making threats against school officials and the campus.
Maximillien Sajous, 29, of Chelsea, was charged with two counts of threat to commit a crime, two counts of making a bomb or hijack threat, two counts of criminal harassment and two counts of stalking.
Prosecutors said the situation began in January when Sajous objected to a $20,000 tuition bill and sent approximately 200 emails to individuals at BU, which they said escalated into criminal threatening.
Sajous is accused of posting photos on his Instagram account March 22, including images of a Boston University Police Department cruiser, shell casings and a sign welcoming him to a sharpshooter range in Virginia.
Assistant District Attorney Katherine McCarthy told the judge that BU issued a trespass order barring Sajous from campus.
“On April 23, 2026, the defendant then sent an email to numerous individuals at Boston University, including the dean of students, Jason Campbell-Foster, and another associate dean, Geraldine Muir, stating, ‘If you see a report that I killed myself, I did not. If you see a report that I have overdosed, I have not. If you see any reports that I’ve killed others – such as Geraldine Muir, Jason Campbell-Foster or a list of other individuals – I did not,'” McCarthy said.
Sajous previously contacted news outlets, including NewsCenter 5, to share a video last month that he said was from a traffic stop. He wrote that he is “dealing with a serious situation involving Boston University that includes retaliation after I raised several concerns, which led to police-based interventions.”
After arrest warrants were issued for Sajous, investigators tracked him to China and then Paris, where he went to the U.S. Embassy to ask for assistance coming back to the U.S. Sajous was arrested by BU police at Logan Airport after flying from Paris.
