The mainstream media loves to try to humanize illegal aliens who have been picked up by immigration enforcement agents for processing and deportation, as we saw most often in the case of alleged MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who they repeatedly referred to simply as “Maryland man” and “Maryland father.”
Insultingly, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) even went so far as to call Garcia his “constituent.”
The latest media attempt at the humanization of an illegal alien comes from good ol’ Fairfax County, Virginia, where a Guatemalan native, Misael Lopez Gomez, has been arrested on allegations that he abused and murdered his three-year-old daughter.
Here’s how WUSA9 framed it:
A Virginia father is facing charges after a medical examiner determined that his 3-month-old daughter’s death was a result of blunt-force trauma.
Fairfax County police responded to reports of an unresponsive infant at a home in the 3400 block of Lake Street in Bailey’s Crossroads around 7:30 p.m. Friday.[…]
The baby was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police and hospital staff said that they saw signs of abuse during the course of the investigation, and police took the baby’s father, 28-year-old Misael Lopez Gomez, into custody.
Nowhere in the piece did they mention Gomez was an illegal alien:
And, surprise surprise, he came here under the Biden-Harris administration, according to DHS:
At the time of the baby’s death, she was in the care of her father, Misael Lopez Gomez from Guatemala. This 28-year-old illegal alien is now facing murder and felony child abuse charges.“This cold-blooded killer murdered his own three-month-old daughter. We are calling on Governor Spanberger to commit to not releasing this barbaric animal from jail into Virginia communities,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “This monster should have never been allowed in our country by the Biden administration. We need cooperation from sanctuary politicians to stop criminals from being released from jail to perpetrate more crimes and create more innocent victims.”Lopez Gomez admitted that he illegally crossed the United States Southern Border in July 2023 near Albuquerque, New Mexico under the Biden Administration. ICE lodged an arrest detainer for Lopez Gomez to request sanctuary politicians not release him from jail without notification to ICE.
“The lengths that @wusa9 and the mainstream media will go to run cover for criminal illegal aliens is astonishing,” DHS also noted on X:
DHS also reminded folks that Gomez is not the first criminal illegal alien who has been arrested on murder charges in Virginia this year:
Lopez Gomez’s arrest comes just one day after another illegal alien from Guatemala, Anibal Armando Chavarria Muy, was arrested for fatally stabbing a man in his home.One month prior, an illegal alien from Sierra Leone, Abdul Jalloh, was arrested for fatally stabbing Stephanie Minter at a bus stop in Fredericksburg. Jalloh had more than 30 arrests prior to killing the American mother. ICE has lodged detainers for both of these heinous criminal illegal aliens.
Strangely, anti-ICE Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D) has been unavailable for comment.
