Vance Announces Task Force to Combat Fraud, Starting in Minnesota

“And so what we’re doing in order to help coordinate this remarkable interagency effort from the Trump administration, but also to make sure that we prosecute the bag bad guys, and do it as swiftly and efficiently as possible.”

Vice President JD Vance announced a new federal task force to combat fraud nationwide, starting in Minnesota.

“We know that the fraud isn’t just happening in Minneapolis, it’s also happening in states like Ohio,” said Vance. “It’s happening in states like California. And so what we’re doing in order to help coordinate this remarkable interagency effort from the Trump administration, but also to make sure that we prosecute the bag bad guys, and do it as swiftly and efficiently as possible.”

The task force will have a new associate attorney general. The nominee will hopefully come out in a few days.

“I’ve talked to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, who has promised me swift confirmation for this official, but this is the person who is going to make sure that we stop defrauding the American people,” added Vance.

Vance noted the position has two crucial differences from a special counsel:

Number one, it will be run out of the White House under the supervision of me and the President of the United States. And number two, it’s actually constitutionally legitimate. You guys may know the Special Counsel statute has some major constitutional questions. When we get the bad guys, we want to make sure we get them permanently and they don’t have some legal technicality they can get out of, which is why we set it up as an associate attorney general.

Vance thanked Attorney General Pam Bondi for already tackling the alleged fraud in Minnesota, which expands from Medicare fraud to fake daycares.

“Pam has been doing a great job to get the resources there to uncover it, but importantly, creating a job like this often takes months, sometimes even longer, when we realized that we needed this Associate Attorney General position,” said Vance. “Pam got this person up and running in about a week.”

The DOJ has already issued over 1,500 subpoenas and indicted over 100 people.

Bring it to CA. Quickly, please.

Book’em Danno!

Let’s call it “DOGE.”

Good step to.create a multi/interagency TF. The fraud isn’t confined to one or two programs but runs the across federal domains. These ‘daycare centers’ probably have some tax code violations, maybe immigration violations, if their I-9 are bogus or they have ‘ghost employees’ in addition to ghost students they probably have some SSA issues. There’s all sorts of things beyond just fraudulent enrollment that needs to be under scrutiny. The American people, the ones I know anyway, are patiently (for now) awaiting but expect rigorous investigations and vigorous prosecution to get maximum prison terms handed down. If it is determined any of these folks are also subject to deportation then so much the better.

Oh lord, “Task force” and “czar” are the way VP Presidential campaigns die.

‘Bout time. Watch Democrats fight this tooth and nail.

The Feckless R’s are really likeing their muscular executive n enforcement posture. Leaving messaging on the table:

“Hey, this fraud gets in the way of helping the people we’re trying to help.”

“We’re making this work right, so it’ll work, because we care more than those (or you) incompetent gesture people.”

They could erode the “racist”, “nationalist”, “supremacist” claims a bit, even by saying “Somali” less, “fraudsters” more, and maybe even “government racketeers.”

I am relieved that The Feckless R’s remain incapable of stealing an issue from The Screaming D’s. I was starting to imagine them becoming politically competent. Nope. I’m better now. My world isn’t ready for that much change, or hope. (Execution remains incompetent, also. See their bobbling the O-care subsidy legislation and appropriations bills — still feckless.)
