DC Pipe Bomb Suspect Reveals Motive, Acted Alone

DC Pipe Bomb Suspect Reveals Motive, Acted Alone

Of course the MSM is twisting Brian Cole, Jr.’s words.

Brian Cole, Jr, allegedly confessed to planting pipe bombs outside of the DNC and RNC headquarters on January 5, 2021, according to a memorandum filed by the DOJ.

The memorandum also revealed Cole’s motive.

Authorities arrested Cole on December 4.

The DOJ charged Cole with:

  • 18 U.S.C. § 844(d): transporting explosives across state lines intending to use them to intimidate and damage or destroy property
  • 18 U.S.C. § 844(i): maliciously attempting to use those explosives to damage or destroy property

The glorious Susie Moore at RedState broke down the memorandum last night, stressing a key fact about Cole’s motive that the media twisted around.

And you all know how much I hate it when the media misreports court cases.

Then again, does it shock you? The legacy media immediately painted Cole as a crazy Trump supporter after his arrest.

Cole did not believe President Joe Biden stole the 2020 election. Cole did not think any election tampering happened.

But that’s how the MSM reports Cole’s motive.

No, instead, Cole hated that no one took those people’s concerns seriously:

The defendant explained: “I didn’t agree with what people were doing, like just telling half the country that they – that their – that they just need to ignore it. I didn’t think that was a good idea, so I went to the protest.” The defendant “has never really been an openly political person” and does not discuss politics often with his family to avoid conflict. According to the defendant, “no one knows” his political views, including his family. The defendant stated that he does not align politically with his family members and did not tell them that he “was going to a protest in support of [then President] Trump.”

Later in the interview, the defendant explained that after the 2020 election, “when it first seemed like something was wrong” and “stuff started happening,” he began following the issue closely on YouTube and Reddit and felt “bewildered.” In the defendant’s view, if people “feel that, you know, something as important as voting in the federal election is being tampered with, is being, you know, being – you know, relegated null and void, then, like, someone needs to speak up, right? Someone up top. You know, just to, just to at the very least calm things down.” The defendant felt that “the people up top,” including “people on both sides, public figures,” should not “ignore[e] people’s grievances” or call them “conspiracy theorists,” “bad people,” “Nazis,” or “fascists.” Instead, “if people feel that their votes are like just being thrown away, then . . . at the very least someone should address it.”

So why did Cole plant bombs at the DNC and RNC?

Cole told the DOJ, “I really don’t like either party at this point.”

Cole wanted both parties to do something because “they were in charge.”

However, Cole denied that Congress certifying Biden’s win had anything to do with his actions.

Cole insisted he acted alone and never told anyone about his plans. He also said he never told anyone about the bombs after he placed them at the buildings.

Yes, Cole claimed he kept his actions a secret for four years.

Honestly … none of that “confession” makes any sense.

I still want to get an answer as to why he put pipe bombs with 1 hour egg timers there the night before. If he never intended to blow them up (because he wasn’t coming back to set the timers) then why bother making real pipe bombs, in the first place?

This really stinks to high heaven. I like Kash and I trust him but this is complete BS.

Such a lovely simple solution. So clean, so pat.

Wait !

What’s that buzzing sound? Is it Occam’s electric razor?

The Department of Justice announced Dec. 4 the arrest of Brian Cole Jr. on charges of transporting an explosive device and attempted malicious destruction by means of explosive materials. In the filing, prosecutors note Cole said he “just snapped” and wanted to punish both political parties, adding he was inspired by The Troubles, a roughly 30-year ethno-nationalist conflict in Northern Ireland.

And what sort of fool lays pipe bombs down right in the open, with wires sticking out, etc.? You would think that someone would, at least, put the pipe bombs in a bag or something, to hide them from view just a little bit …

Every time I see a picture of one of those ridiculous pipe bombs … sitting there in the open with the wires coming out and the big 1-hour egg timers on them … it’s intellectually offensive. And now this BS with this guy …

Not getting to far down the rabbit hole but one question is how did he build the pipe bombs? According to the “experts” it was in fact viable. It would seem to me that without certain skills would have to be learned or taught and the gathering of materials would leave a trail. To me it’s not a real confession until he can explain the details.

He did leave a trail. Just look at the purchase history the FBI tied back to his credit card receipts. The only thing they could not find was the black powder purchase, and he could have picked that up at a yard sale or from a friend with the excuse of going out black powder shooting. Nobody sane actually tries to *make* black powder. Then again, this kid wasn’t exactly firing on all pistons.

My best guess is the FBI gathered enough evidence from cell phone records and credit card receipts to highlight the kid within a month or two of J6, but they could not arrest him because that would throw a rock into the gears of justice since the Narrative was that far-right albino power fanatics stormed the Capitol with guns and explosives etc… To have a deranged black kid with no ties to Trump turn up as the dreaded fiend they had painted as MAGA would make the rest of their hyperventilated accusations look even more fake.

GD– I don’t know your vintage, but in my youth (60s) the building of bombs wasn’t seen as that hard. There was also help available in publications like the “Anarchist’s Cookbook”. (It might still be in publication, underground). Later in life I was trained (inadequately, it turned out) in dealing with devices as a police officer. The training included building mock bombs on the theory that if you could build one you might be able to diffuse one (“render safe” was the term. (Never tried it..)
So you don,t need extensive training to build a rudimentary one.

The kitchen timer would work for a short (< 1 hour) or a cheap wristwatch or wind-up clock cold give you 12 hours. All available at your local drug store.

I've seen some that failed to detonate because the builder used an old battery rather than a new one that had enough juice to set off the blasting cap… [pro-tip there]

In short they are not that hard to build, and survive the build if you ae careful.

There is something fishy about this. Lone nut? Standard. Still alive? Off the script .

Oh, by all means, let’s put deep mentation into why some crazy black dude did some crazy thing. It is so pregnant with deep meaning.

I don’t think it’s working solitary, the decision might be but could be channeling Marxism

I want details on the “pipe bombs”…specifically the pipe used in said “bombs”. If it was a 1″×6″ black iron pipe nipple purchased from Lowe’s all it does is rupture down the seam and leave you with a big boom, a giant cloud of smoke and barely any destructive force.

Smokeless powder is superior to black powder in these situations….. especially if you cannot get your hands on c4 or symtex-type stuff. Many bombmakers of the 60s would add roofing nails or similar to the mix for guaranteed shrapnel… if the maker wanted anti-personnel capability.

Before the incident.
Afterwards, he had the assistance of the entire FBI, DOJ, and White House.

What jumps out at me is that he’s one of a large number of folks that get their news from Reddit and YouTube.

It’s literally childishly simple to make a pipe bomb. I made one once by accident—thought I was making a rocket. Just mixed powdered charcoal and an oxidizer for the propellant. But the nozzle was too small and instead of a liftoff, we got a KA-BOOM. Only ever found the half with the nozzle. It looked like Jughead’s crown. Happily, no one was hurt. Or found out by parents.

From what’s been reported, this guy isn’t entirely right in the head…some degree of autism is one report. Anything else?
Could he cooperatively follow a line of suggestions, elaborating on them as seems interesting to him to flesh out what he’s confessing to?
