Sen. Kennedy of Louisiana Lists Lesser Known Shutdown Demands From AOC and Dem ‘Socialist’ Wing
“…that really upset the socialist wing of the party. And so we took out, and here’s what they want us to put back in”
The main topic of the shutdown debate has been healthcare funding for illegal aliens, but there are some other items that Democrats are demanding, and they will amaze you. These demands are mainly coming from AOC and the socialist wing of the party.
Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana has a way with words, and he recently listed these demands as only he can.

The federal government shutdown has taken a dramatic turn, with Louisiana Republican Sen. John Kennedy seizing the Senate floor Friday to lay bare a list of what he calls “wasteful” and “ridiculous” foreign aid projects he claims Democrats are demanding be reinstated before they agree to reopen the government.
Kennedy accused Senate Democrats of holding the country “hostage” after they blocked a bipartisan stopgap funding bill, prolonging the shutdown into next week…
“We just eliminated money for all forms of media in the Affordable Care Act. Now those are the demands. I’ll mention one more. Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez got very, very upset, as did the socialist wing of the party, when the president sent over what’s called a rescission package. Basically, President Trump just said we want you to take some stuff out of the budget that we think is wasteful, and we did,” Kennedy said. “And that upset the congresswoman. She’s entitled to be upset if she wants to, but that really upset the socialist wing of the party. And so we took out, and here’s what they want us to put back in.”
The list of projects Kennedy claimed Democrats are insisting on restoring includes:
- $3.6 million for cooking and dance workshops for male prostitutes in Haiti.
- Over $4.2 million for LGBTQ projects in the Western Balkans and Uganda.
- $6 million to subsidize Palestinian media outlets.
- $3 million for circumcision and vasectomies in Zambia.
- More than $833,000 for transgender people in Nepal.
- $500,000 to purchase electric buses in Rwanda.
- $300,000 to sponsor a pride parade in Lesotho.

If Lesotho wants a “pride” parade, they can pay for it.
And supply the lions.
They ate the lions, but they’d appreciate donations of used tires and kerosene.
The problem is that Lesotho doesn’t want a Pride parade, and is probably grateful that we won’t be spending this money to impose one on it.
There’s probably a relative of a democrat who wants one and will get the money.
Dems just can’t help themselves.
Millions here, millions there, it all adds up to billions.

Why didn’t AOC insist on bomb-making classes and sniper training for the underserved trans anti-fascist community? Which group has shown more willingness to take one for the team in order to advance the Dems’ agenda?

Wing? There is no “wing.” The Democratic Party IS a socialist party. That bird flys without wings. Another example of the manipulative language we find in today’s political discourse. My dictum: don’t adopt the vocabulary and terminology of your opponents. That’s already a partial surrender.
Keep in mind that most of the spending in these bullet lists never leaves the U.S. The line item actually won’t provide money for cooking and dance classes for male pros’ in Haiti, it will instead go to a U.S. based NGO that was “sponsoring” the activity. That NGO actually launders the money six different ways so as to provide funds for ANTIFA bad boys and Democratic party candidates.
That’s how you have to read all these items — qui bono? Look to who gets the money, and then ask just how likely it is that said money actually is spent on what the bills says it should do.
Exactly. A good chunk of it ends up lining the pockets of the do-nothing Democrats. How else in a few short years do the most inept ones become multimillionaires?

Exactly, I was getting ready to make a similar comment. Money laundering, slush funds, kickbacks, that’s what this is; using nebulous programs and NGOs to funnel taxpayer money to themselves in a very roundabout way.
Well they could save most of the $3 million for Zambian circumcisions by just sending a load of machetes from Tractor Supply.
No just no. Reward the democrats by taking even more out. Cut a billion a day for each day the stoppage continues. Hell cut 10 billion or 100 billion a day. I don’t care about any of it. Let the democrats die on that hill

I have no doubt that AOC and others in the Socialist wing (okay, subdivision) of the party are whining and demanding these ridiculous and wasteful items and others be reinstated. The major question is why these line items were in the budget in the first place.
So, are they getting kickbacks on all these programs?
