Mamdani Boasts of Meeting Unindicted 1993 WTC Terrorist Attack Co-Conspirator
“Today at Masjid At-Taqwa, I had the pleasure of meeting with Imam Siraj Wahhaj, one of the nation’s foremost Muslim leaders and a pillar of the Bed-Stuy community for nearly half a century.”
On the debate stage Thursday night, New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani once again accused former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo of having little interest in building relationships with the Big Apple’s Muslim community, demanding Cuomo name one mosque he’d visited in the past ten years prior to his 2025 mayoral campaign.
“It took Andrew Cuomo being beaten by a Muslim candidate in the Democratic primary for him to set foot in a mosque,” the New York assemblyman declared. “He had more than ten years, and he couldn’t name a single mosque at the last debate we had that he visited.”
It was a characterization Cuomo disputed. Watch:
Zohran Mamdani says Cuomo is not qualified to be mayor because he didn’t visit a mosque: “He had over 10 years and he couldn't name a single mosque that he visited! Muslims want equality and respect! Can you name a single mosque you went to in 10 years?” pic.twitter.com/uxGpjyxdwK

Seemingly to emphasize the point, Mamdani visited the Masjid at-Taqwa on Friday as part of a campaign stop. He later posted a picture of himself smiling from ear to ear alongside two prominent Big Apple public figures:
Today at Masjid At-Taqwa, I had the pleasure of meeting with Imam Siraj Wahhaj, one of the nation’s foremost Muslim leaders and a pillar of the Bed-Stuy community for nearly half a century. I was also joined by CM @dr_yusefsalaam of Harlem. A beautiful Jummah. pic.twitter.com/4kcN4CGlUk

The imam, as Legal Insurrection readers will recall, is an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
The New York Post was quick to call him out:
Lefty NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani gleefully campaigned this week with a notorious, gay-hating Brooklyn imam who is an unindicted co-conspirator in 1993 World Trade Center bombing and who has been linked to other terrorist activity in the United States — including urging “jihad” on the Big Apple.
[…]
[Siraj] Wahhaj, 75, who also heads the Muslim Alliance in North America, was fingered by prosecutors as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 WTC bombing, which left six people dead, and has publicly defended the plotters of the attack against the FBI and CIA, whom he at the time dubbed the “real terrorists.”
Wahhaj endorsed and contributed to Mamdani’s mayoral campaign during the primary.
🚨 Mamdani campaigned today with Imam Siraj Wahhaj, named an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 WTC bombing. Wahhaj has donated to Mamdani’s campaign & is still an imam in NYC. His son was convicted for running a terrorist training camp. This is who’s backing Mamdani 👀 https://t.co/daO0jmhkBU

This “pillar” of the community was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bobbing and testified as a character witness for bombing mastermind “Blind Sheikh” Rahman https://t.co/F7lJywS2Dn

Zohran Mamdani's 'pillar,' Imam Siraj Wahhaj (formerly Jeffrey Kearse and Jeffrey 12X), is reluctant to criticize Osama bin Laden. Just doesn't want to say he's a bad man. (Excerpt is from Paul Barrett's "American Islam." https://t.co/Q9Eg4CjdmO https://t.co/PjGlUyR80K pic.twitter.com/FJml3juBYU

No big deal, just the future mayor of NYC praising Siraj Wahhaj, an imam who has said “Islam is better than democracy”, was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 WTC bombing, provided testimony to defend the Blind Sheikh, and generally wants sharia implemented in America.🤷♂️ https://t.co/nR8APxjayR

“Where ever you came from, you came to America. And you came for one reason- for one reason only – to establish Allah's deen…. You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam.” – Imam Siraj Wahhaj, 1991 https://t.co/Fn1T6fMMHD

Imam Siraj Wahhaj was a co-conspirator of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing jihadist attack who escaped justice. In 2023, his son and two daughters were convicted at trial for their role in planning Islamic terror attacks while living in an Islamic separatist compound in New… https://t.co/sKGoRBCyxu

I would not put it past him.
New York City, which has the largest Jewish population in the world and which has dealt with what has been described as a “dramatic rise” in antisemitic attacks since 10/7/23, appears to be on the verge of electing this man as mayor despite the following facts:
- Two years after the Oct. 7th Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel, Mamdani remains pro-Hamas.
- He has refused to commend President Trump for negotiating the peace deal that led to the ceasefire and release of the remaining hostages, living and dead.
- He has, without evidence, accused Israel of committing genocide in the Israel-Hamas war and believes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal.
- He will not condemn the antisemitic “globalize the intifada” chants.
- 24 years after 9/11, he sat down and yucked it up with an America-hating clown, Hasan Piker, who said America deserved 9/11 (the death toll from the attacks on NYC was 2,977). Despite being repeatedly pressed to condemn the disgusting statement throughout the course of his campaign, Mamdani never would until the Thursday debate, where he said the comments were “reprehensible.”
Considering all of that (and more), he’s still in the driver’s seat headed into the November 4th election. Make it make sense.

Yuval Noah Harari gleefully pushing the GIGO button on major blue cities.
Reading this article is infuriating. Based on my comments on this site regarding islam and muslims no one need be a mind reader to figure out what I;m thinking and what I would like to happen to the Ugandan and his friends. Fortunately this isn’t the UK and I can’t be prosecuted for what I’m thinking – yet.
This is a nothing burger to the Marxist/Socialists. Mandami could firebomb the nearest synagogue and they would still vote him.
They’d be less likely to vote for him if he *didn’t* firebomb the nearest synagogue.
Don’t worry…he will trigger a tranny into pulling a trigger.
Islam abhors homosexuals.
Except the majority of the alphabet soup community across this country hasn’t realized the logical and likely future physical peril of their “alignment” with the anti-Israel and pro-Islam folks.
Nothing will disrupt the Jihad. First they took London! Now they’ll take NY!
Read some weeks ago that the 9/11 Mosque is just being held up by foot dragging, speculating that will end if Mandani wins.
He’s going to win.
I keep trying to explain to people just how disconnected New York leftists are from the consequences of their voting habits.
You can look in history.
Death Wish. Charles Bronson. That movie was essentially a public PSA that NYC was a gang-infested crimeridden murderhole and everybody knew it and wanted it changed.
That movie came out in 1973. There were more that followed that all said exactly the same thing, they all portrayed NYC as owned by the gangs with anybody daring to even THINK about walking out at night being attacked.
It then took NINETEEN MORE YEARS for them to finally elect Giuliani.
This clown is going to win, and its going to be 20 years before another Republican gets in.
Sad to see people that actually know who this guy is under the surface, yet still support him. Guess they miss Obama’s three terms, capped by the Autopen years, when repression of people and authoritarianism were in fine order. The good old days. Hope springs eternal, especially when you fight kings that do not exist, deluded that you speak for the people.
Mandami’s election should keep banks (esp J.P. Morgan’s) return to office strategy on track. What could be more fun than a 90-minute-long commute on shitty public transportation that’s only gotten shitter because it’s free, inviting every homeless addict in the city to masturbate in the front row?
Mandami will be the mayor. Let the good times roll.
Gives a whole new meaning to “broken-windows theory of government.”
Why is it a problem that Cuomo never visited a mosque? I’m not Jewish so I’d never visit a synagogue. I’d respect their worship space. Mamdani is desperately deflecting.
I was thinking the same thing, wondering how many synagogues (and Christian churches, for that matter) Mamdani has bothered to visit.
I’m Jewish and I’ve visited numerous churches in many countries and have always been accepted warmly.
I’m so sure that all of those rich New Yorkers that moved south to better climes and tax situations just can’t wait to move back to the bad weather, crime, and rampant confiscatory taxation and racism that Mayor Z-Man wants to impose. Oh, wait a minute, that’s just sarcasm.
Well, I just clamped my nose tightly shut and voted for the granny-killer.
Other than that, I voted a straight Conservative ticket, except where there was a Libertarian candidate. Voted yes on Props 1-5, no on 6. I don’t have strong feelings about any of them, but I’m for anything that takes power away from the city council and the mayor, even if only a little bit.
Now I need a shower.
