Campaign Manager for Maine Democrat With Nazi Tattoo Quits After Four Days
“I started this campaign Tuesday but found out Friday we have a baby on the way. Graham deserves someone who is 100% in on his race”
Last week, Graham Platner, the Maine Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate who is stirring controversy because of his Nazi symbol tattoo, hired one of his friends to be his new campaign manager. He lasted four days before quitting, claiming his wife was expecting a new baby.
He is literally playing the ‘spend more time with family’ card.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
‘Baby on the Way’: Platner’s New Campaign Manager Quits 3 Days Into Job, Citing Pregnant Wife
Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner’s campaign manager resigned after just three days on the job, citing his wife’s pregnancy and his desire to “lean into this new experience as a family.”
Platner hired “longtime friend” Kevin Brown as campaign manager just last Tuesday, around the same time that reports broke that Platner had a tattoo of a Nazi “Totenkopf” on his chest, Politico reported at the time. Brown is now stepping down from the position, Axios reported Monday.
“Graham is a dear friend,” Brown told Axios. “I started this campaign Tuesday but found out Friday we have a baby on the way. Graham deserves someone who is 100% in on his race and we want to lean into this new experience as a family, so it was best we step back sooner than later so Graham can get the manager he deserves.”
Platner’s campaign been mired in nonstop controversy since reports broke about his Reddit posts, in which he said that “all” cops are bastards, called white rural Americans racist and stupid, called himself a communist, asked why black people “don’t tip,” and advised people concerned about sexual assault to “take some responsibility for themselves and not get so fucked up.”
It’s worth noting that Platner’s former political director quit right after the tattoo controversy broke, claiming he knew exactly what it was.
Genevieve McDonald, Graham Platner's former political director, weighs in on the Nazi tattoo controversy:
"Graham has an anti-Semitic tattoo on his chest. He's not an idiot, he's a military history buff. Maybe he didn't know it when he got it, but he got it years ago and he… pic.twitter.com/5AcXhExQ1M

I think John Sexton of Hot Air has the correct take on this:
This is a version of the candidate (or staffer) who suddenly decides to spend more time with his family, a classic way to exit the political stage which sounds folksy and noble but is in fact almost always cover for something shameful and embarrassing.
In this case, four days is just about long enough for Brown to find out that there are a bunch more scandals waiting to be revealed and to decide there’s now way Platner can survive them. Why become the face of a collapsing campaign? Better to bow out before that happens.
Of course, Platner has a year to make all of this go away and let the public forget about it. His fellow Democrats and allies in media will also be happy to help.
Chris Murphy on Elon’s ‘heart goes out to you’ gesture: He did a Heil H*tler salute. This may be the most dangerous moment in modern American political history.
Murphy on Platner who got a N*zi tattoo: He just seems like a guy who made a mistake. Plus he’s polling really well. pic.twitter.com/SBEHXZptUN

Comments
The communists were super concerned about Hegseth’s Jerusalem Cross tattoo, but the Nazi Death Head tattoo is no big deal.
Matt Taibbi’s piece yesterday revealed that Platner, who touts his “working class” background, actually attended a prestigious private school that costs upwards of $75,000 per year.

Move over Mamdani, AOC, and Gavin Newsom, himself hustling through a childhood of Wonder Bread and mac & cheese.
Is there an explanation why some comments are being delayed and are only visible when logged in? Usually, comments are visible immediately upon submission. It is now approaching 15 minutes, at least not 18 innings.
The REAL scandal is that, despite all this crap being revealed, some people will still vote for him..
WHat do you mean some? Close to half at least.
No, they won’t. Maybe they would vote for him in the general election next year, were he to win the primary, but this is the primary, and nowhere close to half of registered Democrats will vote for him.
I wouldn’t be too sure about that. The latest poll out of the NRSC no less have him at 46%.
you have not seen the plethora of signs in peoples yards here.
Why is the NRSC polling a Dem primary? And was that before or after Janet Mills entered the race?
@Milhouse. Why do you think they are polling the opposition? Both parties do it
This would be career ending for a Republican, but serves as a promotion for Democrats.
Democrats; hypocrisy and projection be thy names.
From personal experience, and not because I know anything about the code…
There is a robot no-no filter that keys off the usual word s-list and puts comments into automatic moderation. If you want to know if that happened to you, examine the URL at the top(?) of your browser page. If it says something about “moderation-hash,” something you posted has been tagged, and it’s visible only to you. If it contains pretty much any rationality at all, it will be released by the moderators inside a few hours at most.
There also appears to be a parallel filter of some sort that does almost the same thing, but leaves no tracks in the URL. (You know it’s a filter because if you try to repost, you’ll still get the “you already posted that” error, yet it’s not there.) It seems to key more often off totally inexplicable criteria that I can’t quantify. Nevertheless, things in that queue seem to get released with the same reliability as the other,
Thanks for that. Still quite strange. It merely pointed that Platner the working man attended a private school that cost upwards of $75,000 per year. Similarity with Mamdani, AOC, and Gavin Newsom, who hustled through a childhood of Wonder Bread and mac & cheese.
It snagged the response just made to you, too, a simple paraphrase of the first comment, without the link included. It will look wacky when these other comments show up, whatever the cause.
I’ve some posts sidelined for 24 hours+ that didn’t contain any naughty words. Seems to occur at different rate or not at all depending on the author of the article.
I encounter that lag occasionally, and attribute it to Duck Duck Go
Cool. Left Duck Duck Go about 2 weeks ago for Brave. There were too many links all the same. Liking Brave so far. Maybe it’s the cuprit. Such is life.
I’ve been using Brave for about 7 years now. Started after the Firefox (Mozilla) WWIC (Woke Woman In Charge) said something idiotic about censorship or malformation or some other political nonsense. Haven’t had a single problem.
Same here. But be warned: sometimes you have to drop the Brave shield to get things to load.
That said, I am 98% satisfied with it.
Sounds like your posts are being caught in the stealth censorship system that LI uses. Where your post is only visible to you when you’re logged in but isn’t really made public until approved. You can usually tell if that’s the case by examining the URL in your browser URL bar. If you see the word “moderation” appended to the end of the URL then you’ve been caught in the stealth censorship system and your post needs to be manually approved before becoming visible to everyone.
Well, Platner can always run as a National Bocialist candidate with this chap:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XQkcP0olmQY
Remember when the left lost their freaking MINDS screaming ELON DID NOT-SEE SALUTE. It wasn’t even true.
Now a guy with an actual, inarguable, unambiguous not-see tattoo – that people say he BRAGGED about having – and they haven’t even called for him to step down.
This is why nobody cared about some young morons making some edgy jokes in a private group chat.
Democrats have no standards other than what they can exploit to get power.
And don’t forget Spanberger’s direct, public refusal to condemn Jay Jones’ murder threats.
Chris Murphy probably has a Nazi tattoo of his own or would get one if it meant he’d be on the next presidential ticket.
I have no trouble believing that Murphy is a closet Nasty and has unnatural relations with Schiff.
Honestly, three days ago, he had no idea his wife was having a baby.
He thought she had just been huffing Touch ‘n Foam.
Or, his wife just took the test, and told him that if he’s going to be involved in a year-long political campaign and unavailable to be with her whenever she needs him then she’s not keeping the baby.
Occam’s Razor says he just found out what a piece of work Platner is, and didn’t want to be part of it.
He was all in until Platner told him of his plan to conquer Nova Scotia for some lebensraum.
And their vast deposits of oysters.
Oysterreich?
I find the campaign managers excuse odd because of the timing. He and his wife had to know there was a possibility she was pregnant. For him to take the job and resign after a few days is odd to say the least. Sounds more like the Dem establishment who do not want Platner leaned on him. How, we may never know
The veneer of Democrat legitimacy is so thin, it simply has to wear through on a regular basis. Warren’s fake ancestry, Dem’s fake “catholicism,” Dem systemic racism, Dem economic incompetence tied to their love of socialism/communism, etc.
Considering all the pressure, it has to burst through, and this is one/another example.
platner or jasime crookette >>its allll the same
