Trump: Military Conducted Second Strike on ‘Narcoterrorists’ From Venezuela

“The Strike resulted in 3 male terrorists killed in action. No U.S. Forces were harmed in this Strike.”

President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. military conducted a second kinetic strike on a boat from Venezuela containing drugs.

Trump wrote on Truth Social:

This morning, on my Orders, U.S. Military Forces conducted a SECOND Kinetic Strike against positively identified, extraordinarily violent drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility. The Strike occurred while these confirmed narcoterrorists from Venezuela were in International Waters transporting illegal narcotics (A DEADLY WEAPON POISONING AMERICANS!) headed to the U.S. These extremely violent drug trafficking cartels POSE A THREAT to U.S. National Security, Foreign Policy, and vital U.S. Interests. The Strike resulted in 3 male terrorists killed in action. No U.S. Forces were harmed in this Strike. BE WARNED — IF YOU ARE TRANSPORTING DRUGS THAT CAN KILL AMERICANS, WE ARE HUNTING YOU! The illicit activities by these cartels have wrought DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES ON AMERICAN COMMUNITIES FOR DECADES, killing millions of American Citizens. NO LONGER. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!

Tensions have heightened between America and Venezuela after the U.S. deployed three Aegis guided-missile destroyers off the waters of Venezuela to support its counter-narcotics operation on August 21.

Venezuela countered with drones and warships to patrol along its Caribbean coast on September 1.

The military took a huge step forward on September 2 when it struck a suspected drug ship from Venezuela, killing 11 people.

On September 4, Venezuela answered back by buzzing two military aircraft near a U.S. Navy ship in international waters.

On September 5, the Department of War warned Venezuela not to interfere with the administration’s counter-narcotics and counter-terrorism operations.

That same day, the Trump administration began sending ten F-35 fighter jets to Puerto Rico.

Is Trump the nations new garbage man? He seems to take out the trash regularly.

Great to see serious consequences for drug trafficking. Meanwhile, the left whines about it and defends fentanyl slinging murderers.

This country seems to be waking up.again. Let’s hope it continues.

Well, as long as nobody’s getting hurt other than the terrorists and all it’s costing is you know Munitions that are probably getting set to expire anyhow, have a lot of fun

Is this Monroe Doctrine 2.0? This is our backyard and we are running the show?

It will seem more legal the more often it is done.

Let me guess: you think it’s illegal because there’s no due process, right?

      coyote:

Here’s hoping you’re not in a big fishing boat off the coast of Florida in international waters when the Cuban government arbitrarily and capriciously decides that you’re smuggling something into their country and blows your boat (and you) out of existence. They’ll claim, with EXACTLY as much evidence that the US government is offering, that they had clear and convincing evidence of the crime they claim you were going to commit, but they’ve decided, in the interest of their national security of course, that they’re not going to share this evidence with the world.

Can you articulate exactly how this would be different than what just happened? All of a sudden we’re going to take the word of the unbelievably powerful US government just because somebody else is at the top of its power structure? And what will happen when the collectivist/statist/authoritarians are wearing a different political symbol?

Do you REALLY want the Dem-wing to have this power to arbitrarily obliterate anyone on the high seas that they don’t like?

As “docduracoat” notes below, there is no legal or moral justification for this.

Meh. Narcoterrorist is the modern equivalent to Pirates or Brigands; Hostis Humani Generis/enemies of Mankind. Plenty of precedent for eliminating them.

I have a problem with executing people accused of drug smuggling with no proof.
1) If arrested, the penalty is not death
2) No due process of any kind
No evidence, no trial, no judgement.
If any of these smugglers are U S citizens, they are entitled to see the evidence, have a lawyer and argue innocence before a judge.

Just shooting people on the high seas on the Presidents say so is a slippery slope.

What if other countries start doing this?
What about mistaken identity?
What about human shields or coercion?
What about any collateral damage?

As a sailor I see this as a huge problem

Yes, it is a slippery slope. The drug smuggler/terrorists are the modern day version of pirates and brigands. They are true ‘outlaws’; they exist outside the protection of the law. The alternatives:

    1) try to identify, apprehend, arrest, and try the smugglers. We’ve been doing that for decades; it does not work and will not work in the future. Indeed, we have no reason to think that it will work. You are advocating for something that we ALL KNOW does not work.

    2) try to reduce demand for drugs in our country. Admirable and we all agree that people should not use illegal drugs. Please outline a plan that actually might work; we’re all ears.

    3) allow the smugglers on their merry way. That allows them to poison our country. Not acceptable to most of us. You may, if you wish, provide us with a very French ¯_(ツ)_/¯

We have no good options. Raising the cost to the smugglers (i.e., their lives) appears to be the least bad and most workable right now. If you wish to provide these people with the protection of the law, you need to make clear why that’s the best alternative in practical terms (not pie in the sky liberalism).

    its always a slippery slope

    arrest any blmplo…riots

put cameras on cops showing what actually happened

    the call-out of
you cant believe what you are seeing …context is missing

    etc

so while you’re not entirely wrong…

    its always a slippery slope

it seems ou gummit have song evidence supporting the position they are actively smuggling drugs into the US. This any Yanks aboard are knowingly and actively breaking our laws. Yes, trial with evidence presented would be “correct”. However, how many DEA raids, upon solid evidence, end up wih the criminals involved getting killed? Hang out with lethal activitis, risk lethal results yousel. We tolerate that within CONUS.

One alternative pathway might be once a narc boat is identi ed on the high seas, tack it as it heads toward our waters. As she approaches, ready the Welcoming Committee. Once that line is crossed, instantly interdict. Any resistance, appropriate ordnance WILL be administered. Perhaps a waning shot, then, when ignored, escalate until surrender, Seize the vessel and crew. US trials upon all aboard, vessel disposed apopriately. Auction, sold as scrap, towed out to sea and used as training target practice….
read about our war north coast A rica, Barbary Pirates, around 1906 or so. How many Barbary pirate vessels were handled the way we now deal with the narc boats, and how many were politely approached and evaluated prior to taking action? Halls o Montezuma to the Shores o Tripoli….

What about ‘if you can’t run with the big dogs, stay your ass on the porch’? Nations can (and will) do whatever they are capable of by force of arms when it serves their National Interest. It is long past time we return to this simple truth and stop wringing our hands.

We should be aggressively operating in a Hobbesian manner outside our Nation in order to maintain our (mostly) Lockean society IN the USA.

They are narcoterrorists not drug mules. The former is a military threat, the latter is an issue for law enforcement.

Like a lot of situations in life there are both pros and cons with this.

Pro: Trump is directly affecting the supply of illegal drugs flowing into this country which will have profound effects on our society for the better.

Con: severely worsening relations with a foreign nation that is relatively close to us.

And that’s just the immediate obvious ones. Long term effects are harder to predict.

carnival cruise better watch out

Trump is making the cartel garbage carriers rethink their line of work. In the past, they could just get caught, arrested, and Soros funded radical left DA’s and ‘judges’ could have them back to work in no time. Now, the risk they run is being atomized for bringing in their poison. Liberals must be furious.
