Authorities confirmed the shooter is dead, apparently by a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

We know a person shot at least three people at a Dallas, TX, ICE facility this morning.
Authorities confirmed the shooter is dead, apparently by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The person shot three people, all detainees, killing two. The other two remain in the hospital.
The police did not release any identities.
The FBI will treat the shooting as an “act of targeted violence.” The guy killed ICE detainees, but the rounds had anti-ICE messages on them.
So yes, it is likely an attack on ICE. The shooter was yards away and shot in the dark. I doubt he could identify his targets.

UPDATE 11:20 AM: The authorities started a press conference. An FBI special agent said the shooter inscribed anti-ICE messages on the ammunition:
I can confirm at this time that the FBI is investigating this incident as an act of targeted violence. It is, unfortunately, just the most recent example we’ve seen of targeted violence to include here in North Texas. We’re back on July 4. We saw a coordinated attack carried out against an immigration detention center in Alvarado, Texas. What I can also share with you is that early evidence that we’ve seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contained messages that are anti-ICE in nature. Again, this is just the most recent example of this type of attack. This will be a whole of government response. There will be no resource not utilized to bring all those individuals who are responsible to be, to bring them to justice and to hold them accountable. While we’re not releasing identities of any victims at this time, what I can confirm for you is no members of law enforcement were hurt during this attack.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted an update on X:
This morning just before 7am local time, an individual fired multiple rounds at a Dallas, Texas ICE facility, killing one, wounding several others, before taking his own life. FBI, DHS, ATF are on the ground with Dallas PD and state authorities.
While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an idealogical motive behind this attack (see photo below). One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase “ANTI ICE.” More updates will be forthcoming.
These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off. We are only miles from Prarieland Texas where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting their officers. It has to end and the FBI and our partners will lead the these investigative efforts to see to it that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice.
Thankfully, no law enforcement personnel were injured. Please pray for the injured and deceased.

UPDATE 10:02 AM: I’m seeing reports that two of the detainees are dead.
KDFW in Dallas reported one victim has died:
One of the victims was confirmed dead, and police say three or four others were shot.
Police identified the shooter as a white male. The suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Police sources said the man “was a sniper on a roof armed with a rifle.”
This is the third attack on an ICE facility in Texas in 2025. The first happened on July 4.
On August 26, a man arrived at the Dallas facility and claimed he had a bomb in his backpack.

This is what happens when you ‘other’ and demonize the police enforcing laws we agreed upon a society. Many of these laws were passed by Democrats under Clinton and Obama. That’s especially of most the expedited deportation laws which were under Obama. Under Obama the Due Process:

Also, one of the ironies in all the past 40+ years of illegal immigration enforcement is that the ‘Evil Racist Ronald Reagan’ signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act which legalized most undocumented immigrants who had arrived in the country prior to January 1, 1982.
That was, btw, bi-partisan. So while Reagan did deport about 7 million, he also gave amnesty to about 3 million.
Meanwhile, Democrat Hero Bill Clinton deported 12.2 million illegals in his 8 years. George Bush pushed out 9.2 million. Obama pushed out 5.2 million.
In five years I don’t think Trump has gone much over 3 million or caught up to Biden (3.8 million).
Current reporting from Fox 4 Dallas is that the shooter was a sniper and that the victims were all detainees. We don’t know anything about the motive, but the facts are hardly consistent with someone going after law enforcement. More than likely it’s someone with mental health issues and access to a gun, like so many of these lone wolf perpetrators of political violence regardless of who they end up targeting, but for some reason the right only accepts that when the targets are groups they see as on the left.
Where are you getting your information from? I can only find things saying “multiple people wounded/shot”, not anything about who was wounded/shot.
As I said in my comment, my source is Fox 4 Dallas. Fox4News (dot) com is their website, it’s the lead story, but multiple other sources have confirmed the statement from law enforcement that the victims were detainees.

That’s because Trump is being resisted through the courts, a resistance to enforcement of the law that no other president has ever faced.
It’s not the “Border Patrol.” ICE is conducting the raids and roundups, not the Patrol. And they are not acting as judges. There’s an immigration court that issues warrants that, despite what some think, are as valid as those issued by courts of law. (The Article II immigration courts were created by Congress using the same authority it exercised to create federal Article III courts other than SCOTUS.)
