Hakeem Jeffries Picks Eric Swalwell to Lead New J6 Committee
Oh, it gets better, you guys.
You guys.
Not only is House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries establishing a new January 6 committee, but he has also added the best and brightest Democrats to it.
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) will serve as ranking member. Jeffries also chose…I kid you not…
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).
I’m literally laughing as I write this post. Oh, he appointed Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) as an ex officio member.
These people are obsessed:
On January 6, 2021, a violent mob attacked the United States Capitol as part of a concerted effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and halt the peaceful transfer of power. Extreme MAGA Republicans have repeatedly tried to whitewash the events of that day, and that’s why this new subcommittee has been created. Equally troublesome, Donald Trump pardoned hundreds of violent felons who brutally beat police officers during the violent insurrection on the first day of his presidency.
Against this backdrop, House Democrats are fighting back. I am pleased to appoint Congressman Eric Swalwell to serve as Ranking Member. As the proud son of a cop, highly accomplished former prosecutor and skilled legislator experienced in holding powerful Washington politicians accountable, Rep. Swalwell will relentlessly ensure that the American people never forget who was responsible for the events of January 6th.
It is also my honor to appoint two talented Members of the House Judiciary Committee and distinguished attorneys, Reps. Jasmine Crockett and Jared Moskowitz, to serve on the subcommittee. Ranking Member Jamie Raskin, one of the country’s leading defenders of the Constitution and the rule of law, will serve as an ex officio member.
Do I even need to remind you guys of the ridiculous stories about Swalwell and Crockett?
Let’s not forget Swalwell’s connection to a Chinese spy! He even tried to blame Trump.
Crockett is just as bad. She called Texas Gov. Greg Abbott “Governor Hot Wheels.” She has also come close to inciting violence against Republicans.
Crockett supposedly terrorizes her staffers, too.
These Democrats held a press conference where Swalwell said:
Since the Civil War, what are the three most important dates in American history?
December 7, 1941.
September 11.
January 6.
The last two I didn’t even have to give you the years because they are seared into our memories.
Hakeem Jeffries scrapes the bottom of the Democrat barrel to come up with his new J6 Subcommittee members:

A reporter asked Jeffries if he agreed with Swalwell that January 6th should be put in the same category, and it annoyed him. By the way, does anyone else notice that Jeffries tries to use the same mannerisms as Obama?
From the video:
I think what Congressman Swalwell said is that there are certain days that will forever live in infamy in terms of the shock to the conscience of the American people. And obviously the attack on Pearl Harbor is a day that will forever live in infamy for all time, and we’re thankful to the greatest generation that stepped up to win that war against the evils of fascism and Nazi Germany.
September 11 is also a day that obviously is one that everyone remembers because we witnessed it.
And I think Congressman Swalwell was very clear, so let’s not try to misinterpret anything, that he said that would happen as January 6 unfolded in front of everyone. We all saw it with our own eyes, and many of us lived through it, and it could not be whitewashed by Donald Trump, extreme MAGA Republicans and their propaganda efforts.

Don’t Committees need to approval of The Speaker to be created?
They can only be established by the House. This one was approved by the House last week, on a party-line vote. All Dems voted against it.
The post and headline are misleadingly worded. See my comment below.
The headline is very misleading. The Dems voted against it en masse because the Republicans are going to take a look at all of the actions that happened including Pelosi refusing National Guard protection and what the Dems on the original committee were doing behind the scenes. Personally, I think the Republicans are making a mistake doing this and the Dems have shown how much of a circus they are going to try and make out of it with who they picked. I doubt much will break through
Howvis he picking anyone to “lead” anything? What a dipsh*t.
He isn’t. The headline is wrong. He’s merely announced whom he’s recommending to the Speaker as Ranking Member.
Wow! That’s all ya got? Epstein and 6 January? Really?
Those definitely NOT going to win votes that you weren’t otherwise going to get.
It just seems so lame.
This isn’t his idea, it’s the Republicans. They first announced in January that they were going to do this, but they didn’t get around to it until last week, after Trump pushed them on it.
Trump, I think, is intent on airing the dirty laundry the illegitimate “committee” desperately tried to hide. The only way this makes sense is if Republicans are going to use it to go after Schiff for what he did, combine it with the mortgage stuff, and force him out of the Senate. Otherwise, there is no need for this. It would also be poetic justice if Johnson did a Pelosi and rejected Jeffries picks. What are the Dems going to say when they did it first?
Didn’t they already do this? Scorched earth with these clowns.
Since they destroyed so much evidence, they have to re-do it.
How does THAT work? If you can re-create destroyed evidence, it isn’t evidence.
They got their turn to do this, and we all saw what a circus they made of it. This is our turn to do it right. Their three members will just be there to sabotage it.
The Speaker just doesn’t seat any of them. Remember Nazi Pelosi picked her own R’s for the committee.
He could do that, but he won’t. Because he’s not Pelosi.
That would be stupid, as in Stupid Party.
He needs to show Democrats how it feels to live by Democrat rules.
Pound them on the anvil of unapologetic socialism.
Sounds like he put the short-bus crew on the committee to keep them sidelined so they don’t cause problems elsewhere.
Nah, that makes no sense. It’s a very part-time job, so they will still be free to cause problems elsewhere as well. He put them on because they will do their best to sabotage the proceedings. They’ll grandstand and try to attract as much attention to their narrative as they can. And the news industry will be their full accomplices in doing so.
What a clown show and Crockett?
That idiot won’t let anyone speak and she will destroy any community she is on
She can’t stop anyone from speaking, unless it’s on her time.
Maybe the Chairman will have a weight bench brought in so Swalwell can show off his stuff. Might as well, since these Democrat clowns will guarantee that nothing productive happens in these hearings.
Um, no he isn’t. As minority leader, he can’t establish sh*t.
At first reading I thought this was some sort of Democrat bullshit “committee” that would have no official status, and would hold “hearings” in private spaces, without subpoena power or anything else. They’ve done that in the past, when they were in the minority.
But no, it’s a real congressional subcommittee, under the Judiciary committee, which the House voted last week, on strict party lines, to establish. It will be chaired by Barry Loudermilk and will have five Republicans and three Democrats, will have full subpoena authority, and is to issue a final report by Dec. 31, 2026.
Jeffries, far from having anything to do with establishing it, hates it and every Democrat voted against it. But he has no choice, so he’s filled his three spots with the most disruptive people he could find.
But, as with the previous Dem-led subcommittee, all minority appointments are subject to the Speaker’s approval. Technically Jeffries isn’t making the appointments, Johnson is. “The select subcommittee shall be composed of not more than 8 Members […] appointed by the Speaker, of whom not more than 3 shall be appointed in consultation with the minority leader.” Which means he could pull a Pelosi and refuse any or all of these three nominations and demand Jeffries come up with different ones. He won’t, because he’s not a ****, but he could.
To lead?! No, as the post says immediately after, Swalwell will be Ranking Member, i.e. very much not the leader. He’ll be the leader of his two fellow Democrats, not of the subcommittee.
No, he didn’t appoint him. He doesn’t get to do that. The chairman and ranking member of each congressional committee are usually ex officio members of all subcommittees. They can’t vote and they don’t count in a quorum. In this case that’s Jim Jordan and Jamie Raskin. The only way Jeffries could change that would be by removing Raskin as ranking member of the Judiciary committee, which would automatically remove him from all its subcommittees too.
Don’t be shy about this and work towards ‘comity.’
Put a thumb in their eye and explain the them to eff off – Fetterman (D), Ro Khanna (D), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D)
When I asked myself if there were any Democrats the Republicans could appoint that would be as big a set of turncoats as the Republicans the Democrats appointed, I immediately went to Fetterman… but he’s a senator.
Dollar Store Obama appoints two clowns
More like 2 bits Obama appoints 4 clowns.
Comedy gold.
more affirmaction work stealing tax money to pay these incestuous clowns
Huh? What on earth are you talking about now? Seriously, you’re making no sense at all. As usual.
🙂
Obviously, the Democrats want a circus. That is why they sent their best clowns.
Maybe they will have an intermission where members can show off their bench-press ability. Swalwell should de wonderfully.
Fake 2020 election. Mass “media” cover-up. Faked indignation. Autopen screws up America for 4 years. Democrats are demonically possessed corrupt slime.
We are at a clear turning point. When a leader this weak appoints someone as inept and unthinking as Swalwell to lead an already discredited charge, the Democrat Party is indeed dead. This moment will lead to change in the Democrat party. No one can predict whether that change will be positive or lead to the death of the party. Since you can’t fix stupid, I suspect the latter, but I may be wrong. Either way remember this moment.
Jeffries is appointing Swalwell because he can grandstand for the Media. Same with Crockett – nobody in their caucus is more flamboyant than Jasmine. They are going to play their roles wonderfully, to ensure that J6 remains a he said/she said affair, and the public does not learn any truth.
Normally I’d want Johnson to refuse everyone that Dime=store Obastard nominated, but I couldn’t think of a more fitting collection of clowns to represent the communist traitors.
December 7, 1941…? I’ll bet if you ask around at the campuses the Equal Protection Project takes an interest you’ll get blank stares. And that’s just from the professors.
Oh, c’mon, they would all know when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.
I reiterate that the vile, stupid and evil Dhimmi-crats seem stubbornly determined to not only lose the 2026 congressional mid-term elections, but, also the 2028 presidential election.
They are just playing to their media and buying time for something to change – like a recession or a new lab-created pandemic. And they could have a hand in the latter, if it happens.
Dog and p9ny show to distract from the violence of the left. In an 80/20 fight stop taking the 20.
Tariffs are hurting the economy severely. Making this a very likely future.
22k jobs added would be agreed as catastrophe if the cause was Bidenflation instead of tariffs.
American manufacturing has been booming every year since WW2, mechanization replaced human workers. The myth of getting screwed is hurting our economy and our chances of keeping the house and senate.
A recession has probably been slowly under way for years, but we haven’t seen it because there has been too much money sloshing around in the system. All that C-19 stimulus has finally been drained. I don’t think the tariffs have all that much effect, at least not immediately. These things take years. Interest rates soared 2 years ago, but we are only really seeing the macroeconomic effects now. The biggest tariff effect right now is probably the shutdown of international post. People who ordered ED pills from India are going to be waiting a long time to get them, and could be presented with a large Customs bill when they do.
The Democrats: We’ll Die on Every Mole Hill.
These J6-2.0 House Committee appointments by Temu Obama sets up a real cage match, as Swalwell and Crockett can directly go at each other in hopes of claiming the coveted annual Dumbest Donk in Congress award for 2025.
