Report: DOJ Launches Grand Jury Probe Into Alleged Obama-Era Trump-Russia Plot

Fox News reported that Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered her staff to launch a grand jury regarding the alleged conspiracy to tie then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to Russia in 2016.

From the report:

Bondi personally ordered an unnamed federal prosecutor to initiate legal proceedings and the prosecutor is expected to present department evidence to a grand jury, which would allow the department to secure a potential indictment, according to a letter from Bondi reviewed by Fox News Digital and a source familiar with the investigation.A DOJ spokesperson declined to comment on the report of an investigation but said Bondi is taking the referral from Gabbard “very seriously.” The spokesperson said Bondi believed there is “clear cause for deep concern” and a need for next steps.

I have not seen confirmation from Bondi, the DOJ, or Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

The DOJ confirmed it received the criminal referral from Gabbard two weeks ago.

The criminal referral stems from the 114-page report Gabbard released on July 18. It alleges people at the top, including former President Barack Obama, had a hand in the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy.

Trump accused Obama and his “gang” of treason.

Obama shot back, but Gabbard then released a 2020 House Intelligence Committee report that showed the intelligence community had no evidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to help Trump win in 2016. Still, the intelligence community published the “evidence” on Obama’s orders.
