Oklahoma Will Test California, New York Teachers to Weed Out ‘Woke Indoctrinators’
No “gender is a social construct” lessons. No critical race theory.
I love my state.
Oklahoma will roll out a test for California and New York teachers to ensure school teachers don’t hire woke leftists. PragerU developed the 50-question test.
Superintendent Ryan Walters said the state could expand it to eight other states in the future.
Walters shared parts of the test with CNN:
One proposed question deals with gender – asking teachers to select from a series of multiple-choice answers which chromosome pairs determine biological sex. Marissa Streit, CEO of PragerU, told CNN there are several questions on the test related to “undoing the damage of gender ideology that is forced and taught through some of these other tests like the PRISM test,” referring to a training for teachers in California that aims to “provide resources to bolster support for LGBTQ+ youth in California.”
Another question asks why freedom of religion is important to America’s identity. Other questions include asking for the first three words of the Constitution, naming the two chambers of the US Congress, and identifying the number of US Senators. Streit said the Oklahoma superintendent had asked for a test “that is more wholesome and in line with the Oklahoma parent body.”
I mean, it’s basic information. Walters wants teachers to “teach that there’s [sic] biological differences between males and females” and actual American history.
None of this “gender is a social construct” crap. California requires teachers to teach students “about gender, gender expression, gender identity and explore the harm of negative gender stereotypes” and “about all sexual orientations and what being LGBTQ means.”
NO. Stop this madness. Keep it out of my state.
Also, no Critical Race Theory. What is so wrong with wanting students to learn basic civics?
Unfortunately, Oklahoma has a teacher shortage. The pay is crap, even though the cost of living here is fantastic. The state is also at the bottom in education rankings. Thank goodness for private schools.
But we’ve seen the leftists infect Texas. We can’t let that happen in Oklahoma.
So if you’re a leftist, do not move to Oklahoma. We are super duper totally backwards, rednecks, have no teeth, etc. So, uh, take the stereotypes seriously and stay away. Thanks!

if you are on tax funded “income” nothing changes…the money goes directly to the teachers that you choose to send your children to
I love Oklahoma and would love to move back. I am afraid that the out of state teacher candidates taking this exam would put the answer that they believe would land them the position on the exam and then teach their heart’s true beliefs in the classroom.
It needs to be in the form of an affidavit under oath so that they can be fired for for cause for lying under oath rather than their teaching garbage. A much easier fight.
Cameras in the classroom that show the teacher, not the students. Let the parents see and hear what their children are being exposed to. If that seems extreme? Well, compared to the indoctrination these kids have received at the hands of the left, it really isn’t. This is a trust issue and leftists can’t be trusted not to lie.

One little friend had to transfer to a public school when the family moved, once on a bus the girl asked her seat mate if she were Christian, the little girl answered, “ oh no, my parents would murder me”

Are you allowed to give a test that elected officials would fail?
We have at least one Representative who thinks there are three chambers of Congress, and one President who thinks there are 57 states.
Unfortunately, the law requires licensing exams to have been proven job related. It’s going to be a high bar to convince a judge that knowing the first three words of the Constitution is related to the job of teaching high school French. I’ve seen the sample questions and most are seriously flawed. For example, one response to the question of what are the first three words of the Constitution contains four words. Also, the keyed correct response actually contains the first three words to the PREAMBLE to the Constitution. Nor does it say the US Constitution–does it mean the Oklahoma Constitution?
