President Donald Trump told the press that he will likely “have a lot of fun” with Zohran Mamdani, the man who is likely to become New York City’s mayor.
I think he’s terrible. He’s a communist. The last thing we need is a Communist. I said there will never be socialism in the United States, then we have a Communist. I think it’s bad news, and I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with him, watching him, because he has to come right through this building [points to the White House] to get his money.And don’t worry. He’s not going to run away with anything.I think, frankly, I’ve heard he’s a total nut job. I think the people in New York are crazy and they go this route. I think they’re crazy. We will have a communist for the first time. Really a pure, true communist. He wants to operate the grocery stores, the department stores. What about the people that are there?
Trump is not wrong.
Mamdani does not call himself a communist but is a proud socialist.
Well, Mamdani’s words tell a different story. It’s true that he wants to establish city-run grocery stores, claiming that these would reduce prices. He wants to raise taxes on the wealthy.
The campaign website even suggested moving “the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.”
Mamdani, who comes from a wealthy family, doesn’t “think that we should have billionaires.”
Let’s not forget his hatred towards Israel. Mamdani won’t even denounce “Globalize the Intifada.”
