Secret Service Suspends Agents Due to Conduct During Attempted Trump Assassination
A year later…a whole year after the assassination attempt!
The Secret Service suspended six agents due to their conduct during the assassination attempt on then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Butler, PA.
A year later.
A YEAR LATER. The suspension comes A YEAR LATER. From CBS News:
Matt Quinn, Secret Service deputy director, told CBS News that their penalty ranged from 10 to 42 days of leave without pay or benefits. The personnel were placed into restricted duty or roles with less operational responsibility upon their return.
“We are laser-focused on fixing the root cause of the problem,” said Quinn, who defended the agency’s decision not to dismiss anyone after the security failure on July 13, 2024, in which a gunman opened fire during a campaign rally and a bullet grazed Mr. Trump’s ear. One person was killed and two others were wounded while the alleged gunman, Thomas Crooks, was killed by a Secret Service sniper.
“We aren’t going to fire our way out of this,” Quinn said in an interview Wednesday. “We’re going to focus on the root cause and fix the deficiencies that put us in that situation.”
“Secret Service is totally accountable for Butler,” he said. “Butler was an operational failure and we are focused today on ensuring that it never happens again.”
Quinn also told CBS News that the agency disciplined the agents “according to a federally mandated process.”
The agency has supposedly focused on the “root causes” of the failure to protect Trump at the Butler rally. (I’m interested to hear its take on the line of sight!)
The Secret Service has implemented “a new fleet of military grade drones and mobile command posts that allows agents to communicate over radio directly with local law enforcement – interoperability that didn’t exist last year.”
I’m fairly certain the agents had the opportunity to communicate with local law enforcement during the rally. Oh, look! The USSS never picked up the radios set aside for the agents.
Local law enforcement has stated on numerous occasions that the USSS never met with them prior to the rally. They never had a chance to coordinate or anything.

We’re supposed to believe that some skinny, pimple-faced kid managed to crawl on top of the law enforcement command post and nearly gave Mr. Trump high velocity brain surgery?
No. I don’t believe that and neither should you.
I also believe that we will *never* know the truth, either.
“We are laser-focused on fixing the root cause of the problem,”
Here’s a hint for you: the calls are coming from inside the house, IYKWIMAITTYD.
dont agree
same way some pos (with help from the inside??) caused 9 11 to lead the omar explosion of america
“…laser-focused on fixing the root cause of the problem” was the excuse Comma-La used for sitting on her ass while she was the Border Czarina.
To recap:
1. The leading presidential candidate and former president was almost killed.
2. An innocent bystander was killed.
3. 2 other innocent bystanders were seriously wounded.
And the max punishment doled out to those responsible is a 42 day suspension. Accountability is pretty much dead in the federal government.
They couldn’t suspend them any earlier because they had already used up their vacation allotment for 2024.
The chance that this is true is low….but, it’s nowhere near zero.
Holding a civil service job means you are fireproof. SS agents screwing up: 42 day suspension.
Local cops break down the wrong door, terrorize the family, shoot the dog, smash family heirlooms, turn over furniture and cut sofa cushions to ribbons looking for Those Evil (meaning not taxed) Drugs. “Qualified Immunity”.
Trump was quickly surrounded by midgets.
Well, there was that one DEI blonde haired chick that came up to his collarbone and wasn’t worth a damn.
so now there are some still deficient members on the payroll with a motive to seek revenge..or maybe prove themselves
we wont know
Or maybe finish the job,
somewhat off topic:
trump(taxpayers) takes 50% stake in private minerals company
^^^^NOT GOOD^^^
I know Oloser did so with GM and it was as wrong then as it is now
it is a publicly traded company
I believe both moves really ARE “Fascism”.
I don’t think it was “operational failure “.
A seven-syllable replacement for the more direct “phucque-up”.
It is simply not believable that the Biden junta controlled Secret Service could not see the guy with the rifle climbing on to the roof that so many attendees filmed and screamed about beforehand.
Every single Dem hired, appointed or ensconced Secret Service member should be held for intense questioning and fired or jailed as information warrants.
None should be retained.
Problem is government employees who lie, cause harm, shirk responsibilities need to be FIRED. 42 days – give me a break. AG Bondi and FBI Patel need to be STRONGER in their actions with weak employees.
This is one place they could have addressed the concerns about not holding anyone accountable and IMHO they have blown it.
They need to be hung.
Publicly.
Betraying the public trust is the most heinous of treasons. We give them power over our lives and well being. To betray that is the worst.
In Dante’s Inferno, the worst place in Hell is reserved for betrayers.
Because they destroy faith.
The only bright side to this ordered vacation is that those suspended have had any chance at advancement pretty much ended.
What makes you so sure? Maybe as long as the GOP holds the presidency.
True
Jesse Waters says one received a promotion upon return and another got a raise.
If you don’t want to fire them then transfer them to the least desirable duty for an SS agent. Not sure what that is at this time but being assigned to Obama, Clinton, or Biden would probably be appropriate,
Give them assignments with Hillary, AOC when she formally announces her candidacy. Assign them to Harris or Walz.
Put them on financial investigation side of the Secret Service. Plenty of nasty people to investigate there.
That could get them in real trouble. Remember the impetus for the George Floyd incident was a counterfeit $20 bill.
“We aren’t going to fire our way out of this,” Quinn said in an interview Wednesday. “We’re going to focus on the root cause and fix the deficiencies that put us in that situation.”
Embrace the power of AND, yutz.
Actually, yes you can fire your way out of it. Fire all the DEI hires and the bureaucrats in charge that pushed the nonsense then hire people that can do the job.
“focus on the root cause…” Sounds like that line of excuse-making when describing solutions to “youth” tearing up retail districts, flash-mobbing C-stores, or taking over intersections to have those tire-screeching contests.
More like misconduct.
Did they fire that DEI hire blonde chick in the picture? I don’t want her guarding the President, I want the other 3 guys that all look like they could run through a wall.
Trump 45, at least early in his term, had private security around him, he didn’t trust Secret Service. I’m sure Trump 47 doing whatever is best based on much more information than I have, but I wouldn’t trust Secret Service now either.
