Zohran Mamdani is the Red-Green Alliance

Zohran Mamdani is the Red-Green Alliance

He is smooth. He knows how to play people. This guy is not what he’s pretending to be. He’s much worse.

Zohran Mamdani won the Democrat nomination to run for NY City Mayor. His win has created a panic.

Are people right to be panicked?

I address that in a ‘hot take’ I just recorded.

Transcript auto-generated, may contain transcription errors, lightly edited for transcript clarity

So everybody is in a panic that Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic primary for the New York City mayor’s race.

And there deserves to be something of a panic, because it’s not just him it symbolizes something I’ve been warning Legal Insurrection readers about for a decade: what’s called the Red-Green Alliance.

It’s the alliance of the extreme far-left and the Islamists, and they get together and they join forces, and they’ve been doing it for years. We’ve been seeing this play out most prominently on the campuses, where people who have nothing in common get together to hate the United States, to hate Israel, and to hate Jews more than anybody. And that’s what we’re seeing play out with him.

Be cautious of this guy.

He was the founder at his campus of Students for Justice in Palestine—an absolutely vile anti-Israel group which has wrecked havoc on campuses everywhere.

He supported and supports the boycott of Israel. He considers himself anti-Zionist, and he has announced that after this victory, he’s not going to give up his beliefs.

He is smooth. He knows how to play people. He’s out of the AOC mold of being highly manufactured, but don’t take him lightly.

He is the epitome of what’s happening in this nation—that people who, at their core, dislike this country, at their core hate capitalism, at their core hate the United States of America, put on a show to pretend that they’re something they’re not.

Repeat the words: Red-Green Alliance. Every time you hear him, think about Students for Justice in Palestine. Think about the boycott of Israel.

This guy is not what he’s pretending to be. He’s much worse. And people are right to be worried about him—not just as the mayor of New York if he gets that position, but what it represents about the Democratic Party: that such a person can rise to the top.

That what it represents about how the campus anti-capitalist, anti-American movement has moved into a major political party.

Red-Green Alliance. You have been warned.

A man pretending to be something he is not is the very essence of a politician. Visionary, iconoclastic men of destiny are the rare exceptions, and historians work overtime to vilify them.

A Socialist, Pro Palestinian-Anti Zionist, and Radical Progressive Leftist as Mayor of NYC…

    What could go wrong?

alaskabob in reply to EBL. | June 25, 2025 at 7:01 pm

      L.A.: Marxist mayor
      Chicago: Marxist mayor
      NYC: likely Marxist (Shiite) mayor.
      Portland: Left of Lenin
      Austin, Minneapolis…. getting there
All of this is becoming the new standard. Why wouldn’t NYC join?
The Indians had it rough in Africa such as Uganda and Kenya. Obviously, no lessons learned.

Everyone keeps saying the Democratic Party is destroyed. I never believe that now we see what has risen from the ashes and it’s not good.

Agreed. Some Democrats may be in disarray, but they have some bad candidates who are coddled by the media.

This guy is a slick liar and is a good retail politician. He mixes his hate with an ability to makes promises and tell people what they want to hear.

    None of it will work.

alohahola in reply to PrincetonAl. | June 26, 2025 at 4:35 am

Here’s a couple of Philadelphians who helped him slick:

      https://archive.ph/kiD9d

      None of it will work.

That greatly depends on what you mean by “work”, doesn’t it?

Will he be able to fix inflation by arbitrarily setting prices and starting a chain of city-run grocery stores that sell at-cost for no profit, and thus benefiting the community?

No. That’s not how that will play out. (Points to the Soviet Union’s, Cuba’s, and Venezuela’s failed attempts to do exactly that. And those nations had farms. NYC has no farms and produces zero food — all the food in NYC is imported from outside the city — so his plan has even less to work with.)

But … is that his goal?

Or is the goal to destroy entrepreneurship in NYC by opening that chain of city-run grocery stores, thus forcing private bodegas to close because they can’t compete with stores that pay no rent and seek no profit, eliminating thousands of jobs and family businesses, and forcing the community’s dependency on government largesse which only the Democrat/Socialist party promises to provide?

If the second option is the real goal, then it will “work” fantastically.

    Yeah, destroyed like bed bugs.

    Yeah, destroyed like herpes.

Maybe all the hoopla of this dude’s candidacy will bring the scrutiny for the general election that seemed missing in the primary, at least nationally. Hopefully there’s enough sane voters in NYC to reject this guy and the insane policy preferences he advocates. If not and he gets elected Mayor, things will become very interesting in NYC and inside the d/prog party.

destroycommunism in reply to CommoChief. | June 25, 2025 at 5:51 pm

I hope he wins and implements his whole agenda and that the federal money dries up to him which he must have to make it work

come on blmplo put him in charge!!!!!!

artichoke in reply to CommoChief. | June 25, 2025 at 11:03 pm

He doubled down after the primary. He’s not ashamed of it, he’s running on that platform.

I don’t think it’s usually effective to try to change people’s minds. Elections are about turnout; people already have their opinions. Therefore very important:

    (1) There should be only one opponent. Since incumbent Eric Adams is running and is a proven fairly popular candidate, he should be the opponent. Republicans should nominate him, Cuomo should formally drop out. Everyone has to get behind one opponent.

    (2) And massive GOTV movement. Because the Dems will have one. They will spend whatever it takes to take over NYC, and if Mamdani gets in, he will be ruthless and move as fast as possible. The election will be close in any case because Mamdani has serious support. He did better than polling predicted in the primary; the win was not very close. That is who we are, and NYC in the long run may not be salvageable due to demographics, but I think we can win this one.

CommoChief in reply to artichoke. | June 26, 2025 at 7:23 am

Yep, he isn’t hiding his commie policy preferences at all, he’s proud of them. The folks who voted for him knew all about them and voted for him because of those policies. I’m hoping there’s enough media coverage, including new media, spotlighting the policy proposals and their near certain negative impact that apathetic voters will be motivated to show up and vote against him. Maybe and maybe not but either way it is up to the voters in NYC to solve this, nobody is gonna do it for them, no one is coming to save them if they choose to elect this guy.

That acreage I bought in TN is going to double in the 2 years!!!

An interesting fact is that in central NJ – west of Manhattan – the average sale price of homes in good towns has exceeded the listing price starting with 2021. The percentage has been creeping higher each year since and is now 106%. The average number of days a home is on the market is now half what it was 5 years ago. I suspect that this guy may now induce desperation to move from the city.

destroycommunism | June 25, 2025 at 5:50 pm

study who actually voted for him

its not just rich white youth…they can be dismissed as his rules wont affect them

but look closer at the people who want the take overs

the rent control
the free this and free that

and know that that is not limited to the obvious blue cities but to certain cultures that couldnt have 1/10 of what they have in the usa if they were in their ancestral countries

excellent article

destroycommunism | June 25, 2025 at 6:03 pm

with scant exceptions to the rule

the majority of the omar tribe are going to use their violence as the threat to do it “our way or else”

it worked in 2020 even scaring the scotus to not act properly

again,,,the left is rolling downhill over us and with a minor hiccup (45&47) they are gaining strength especially through more regs which will especially increase if the dems are able to corral the crypto market and re-engineer the monetary system to give reparations to their crew

artichoke in reply to destroycommunism. | June 25, 2025 at 11:09 pm

I hadn’t thought of that: “equity” directly implemented in the monetary system. They’ll try. Are efforts underway already?

destroycommunism in reply to artichoke. | June 26, 2025 at 10:37 am

      yes

lisa cook (the fed) and others whose whole existence is based on their hypocrisy of

capitalism is what made us slaves…while she lives the capitalist dream

No doubt this guy is bad news for NYC and the greater public. Then again, it takes people like this and Johnson and AOC and Crockett, etc. to fully show the extremism and bury the Democratic Party as it now exists, and then allow it to rise again, if at all, as a more moderate force.

If this guy wins – honestly, it’s hard to imagine the Dem primary winner not winning the General Election in NYC – the Democrats are going to move HARD left in 2028. I can’t imagine who they might go with. But, it won’t be someone reasonably rational like Shapiro in PA or even Rahm Emanual or even that guy in Maryland. It’s going to be a firebreather, someone like AOC…probably worse, maybe even this idiot.

As a nation, we have never had as many foreign-born US citizens in the country (as a percentage of all citizens) than we do today. If some percentage of Biden’s immigration influx gets amnesty, that ratio is going to get demonstrably worse. The only good news about this election is it seems black and Latinos were NOT enamored with him, at all. Educated whites and ‘Asians’ were the culprits.

JackinSilverSpring in reply to TargaGTS. | June 25, 2025 at 6:53 pm

Only about a half-million people voted in the primary, so there is some hope that an independent candidate will beat him in the mayoral election. Of course, that depends on there being only one independent candidate.

    jb4 in reply to TargaGTS. | June 25, 2025 at 8:21 pm

I have been saying for months that the worst AOC will do in 2028 is to replace Schumer as Senator. I could even see her as one of top two spots if she plays her cards right. In fact, at the moment, I think Rubio would be the Republicans best candidate in 2028. That might force the Dems to go with AOC, because of the importance of the Hispanic vote.

Milhouse in reply to TargaGTS. | June 25, 2025 at 11:57 pm

honestly, it’s hard to imagine the Dem primary winner not winning the General Election in NYC –

It’s not hard to imagine it, especially with such a divisive Dem candidate. NYC voters have turned away from the Dem candidate many times before, albeit only for leftists like Bloomberg or Giuliani. They may do so again, provided that all the other candidates but one withdraw before voting begins, and they all push hard on bringing out the anti-Madmani vote.

It’s going to be a firebreather, someone like AOC…probably worse, maybe even this idiot.

It can’t be. He wasn’t born a US citizen.

As much as the neo-communist/Islamofascist idiocy of this reprobate, what strikes me about him is that, like Occasional-Cortex — another empty-suit, dim-witted, private sector-avoiding demagogue-narcissist — he’s a child of total privilege. Bank Street School (which I could see from my 15th-floor apartment on Broadway, when I lived in Morningside Heights); Bronx Science High School; Bowdoin College.

Zero substantive work experience or accomplishment, by age 33. Just another lazy, entitled and coddled Dhimmi-crat who figures — perhaps not unreasonably — that the easiest and quickest path for him to obtain fame and wealth, is by running for public office.

this country is done I’m afraid. It may take 20 years, but it is done. Where to move to. I can’t think where frankly. Europe is cooked. Where else is there to go?

DaveGinOly in reply to ztakddot. | June 25, 2025 at 9:03 pm

That’s the problem with the “let’s make the US like Europe” and “they do it this way (insert country name here)” crowd. The US was supposed to be the place that’s different so that those looking for opportunity would have somewhere to go. If it’s made to be “just like” any other country, there will be nowhere to go. Prison planet. Maybe this is why Elon wants to go to Mars.

I know nothing about Alaska. But, perhaps its being part of the USA but physically isolated could make it a (cold) choice? Similarly, an somewhat isolated island like Bermuda could be a much more weather-friendly but costly choice.

guyjones in reply to ztakddot. | June 25, 2025 at 9:10 pm

    Japan or Singapore?

ztakddot in reply to guyjones. | June 25, 2025 at 10:00 pm

Japan and Korea are slowly dying because they’re not reproducing. Japan also might look enticing but they have a culturally very different and have a fair amount of xenophobia. I don’t think they look favorably upon any immigration.

Singapore is not exactly a haven of personal liberty. I don’t know their immigration policy or the percentage of muslims in the population.

I think a lot matters how much money you have. If your sitting on 50 million you have more opportunities than on 5.

gonzotx in reply to ztakddot. | June 25, 2025 at 10:38 pm

5 million is still pretty darn good …

Milhouse in reply to ztakddot. | June 26, 2025 at 1:09 am

Singapore has the facade of a free country, but it’s actually pretty authoritarian. There is no real freedom of speech. Not only does it have a lot of Moslems, but one of the government’s chief purposes in limiting speech is to prevent anything that might set the Moslems off and cause them to riot. The government is terrified of ethnic riots, particularly by Moslems. So you cannot say anything negative about any religion, but particularly about Islam.

Milhouse in reply to ztakddot. | June 26, 2025 at 1:11 am

PS: If you visit Singapore, talk to people, and listen closely not only to what they’re saying but even more so to what they’re not saying. Singaporeans know how to not say certain things very loudly.

Hodge in reply to Milhouse. | June 26, 2025 at 9:51 am

Dubai is the same way. It is very much a neutral zone where I saw Jews in skull caps shopping in the malls, and a woman in a bikini walking down the street near the beach. No one (except me) even blinked. However, the driver our company provided is living there on a two-year visa and has had to renew his two-year visa seven or eight times now. As long as things are quiet and peaceful, everything is fine. However any infraction of any kind threatens your visa.

NYC going down the path of san fran shitshow?

This going to be lost decade.

RepublicanRJL | June 26, 2025 at 7:49 am

If the Democrat party has ever met their Waterloo, this is it.

Either they run interference for this jihadi or they do a block tackle.

This is a bit late in the conversation but I am disappointed that this has not already come up.

1. The machine runs NYC. No one even gets in the primary let alone wins without “Tammany Hall” deciding it is going to happen. Zohran Mamdani’s appearance is no accident.

2. Eric Adams is damaged goods with the leftward wing of the Democratic Party after playing ball with Trump. Ordinarily it would be hard for him to win re-election since the Party really can’t support him publicly. The outrage would be too great.

3. However, Adams -as incumbent- can run for re-election. Still, the only way he has any chance of winning is if the other Democratic is SO crazy that Adams is the better choice. Hmmm….

4. This gives The Machine justification for manufacturing the narrow victory Adams will pull out in the main. (You don’t really think voters matter do you?).
Zohran Mamdani Is allowed to run strictly to make people happy that Adams [will have] won. The press will be full of stories about how people chose sanity or socialism.

Watch.

destroycommunism in reply to Hodge. | June 26, 2025 at 10:44 am

yes but the hard left wins no matter what

losing a race to them just gives them more power/reasons to be violent in the streets which then “forces” the good people to give in ,,so there can be “peace”

when their pos does win then its just a tug of war here and there within their own family

thats why IT DOES MATTER when these blue cities stay blue or go bluer

it demands more resources from other states to quench their thirsts ,their goals, their dreams of government over the people

Milhouse in reply to Hodge. | June 26, 2025 at 6:03 pm

    1. The machine runs NYC. No one even gets in the primary let alone wins without “Tammany Hall” deciding it is going to happen. Zohran Mamdani’s appearance is no accident.

This has not been true in a long time. And with the insurgence of earnest young socialists it’s getting more false all the time. The establishment has completely lost any semblance of control it once had.

Last time around, the establishment’s candidate was Kathryn Garcia, who got less than 20% of the vote.

There is a group of Jews in NYC who have come out totally in favor of Zorhan; the youth at his “victory party” were the most white crowd the author had come across in NYC in a long time.

Top bad those “kids” never learned about good/evil and the really rotten people on earth.

    Milhouse in reply to B. | June 26, 2025 at 6:05 pm

I doubt most of those kids are actually Jews. And I guarantee that the ones who are know nothing at all about it, and it’s either meaningless to them or they’re actually ashamed of it and feel the need to apologize for it as well as for being white (if they are).
