Car Blows Up as Karen Bass Says ‘Things in L.A. are Calm’

Car Blows Up as Karen Bass Says ‘Things in L.A. are Calm’

Bass also said the city doesn’t need the National Guard. Yeah, lady, the riots calmed down after their deployment.

I. Am. Crying.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s argument against the National Guard in her city literally blew up in her face.

The interview took place on Monday on CNN. The network split the scene with video of the riots, including a car blowing up right when Bass said everything is calm.

She literally became the Leslie Nielsen meme.

Bass told CNN:

No, I don’t think the National Guard is needed now. Things in LA are calm.

I will tell you that I’m saddened by the extent of the vandalism in the form of graffiti all through the downtown area.

But it is important for people to know that even in downtown this is isolated to a few streets. This is not citywide civil unrest taking place in Los Angeles. A few streets downtown, it looks horrible. People committed crimes. It is absolutely unacceptable. And those people that set cars on fire or did other forms of vandalism will be sought to be arrested and prosecuted. This is not the way to promote a cause.

via GIPHY

Yeah, um, except the riots were out of control before President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard.

The downplaying also gets to me. “It’s only a few streets. No biggie.”

“It’s only affected some people. No biggie.”

These people are insane.

When do the troops arrive?

This crap needs to stop and the rioters rounded up, along with anyone who funded or instigated them. At least up to the NGO level, and whoever funneled the money into the NGO.

A: “She always leaves town when there are fires.”

Just a few streets….like just a few apartment complexes in Colorado were taken over by TdA according to Martha Radditz.
Nothing to see here, move along…….

Rally scheduled to be going on in Grand Park right now. We’ll see if the leftoids manage to keep it in their pants this time or if it needs to get slapped again.

Waymo has been doing test roll out of driverless cars in CA cities. They are easy targets because their cameras are easily spoofed. They get destroyed for entertainment. They could be programmed for ‘no go zones’ but that might cover half LA.

Let’s put the shoe on the other for and see if it fits, shall we?

“The ones getting rounded up and deported are only a tiny percentage of those who ought to be. No biggie. What are you invaders getting all worked up about?”

Downtown Portland is dead after the 2016 riots. They blame the pandemic, but the writing was already on the wall. I can’t believe that people with “big time” money at stake allowed this to happen. Probably 5+ B$ was lost, and the same may happen to LA. The thing is, yeah, you can buy a $100M building now for $20M, but with no tenants, what are you going to do with it, and you can be sure that every tenant downtown, like law firms, are aggressively renoegotiating their current contracts. Maybe the .gov people are think foreclosure, but what are they and the taxpayers going to do with the buildings, and the loss of tax income. I am always surprised when the Left is concerned with the future, because imho, they can’t see a week beyond their actions.

https://www.koin.com/news/portland/family-owned-real-estate-firm-buys-montgomery-park-at-87-discount/

So this is LA’s future. Existing businesses will leave, and no businesses places will show up to balance that out. Newsome’s chance at president just went up in smoke, which is a good thing. Sure, only a few blocks were affected, but EVERYONE can see it.

It seems to me that by gleefully, defiantly and unrepentantly doubling down on their support of/alliance with domestic criminals, illegal alien criminals, genocidal Islamofascists/Muslim supremacists, misogynist and predatory trannies and mask-clad “Anti-fa” terrorist-thugs, the vile, stupid and evil Dhimmi-crats are eager to lose — bigly — the 2026 midterm elections, and, beyond that, the 2028 presidential election.

These reprobate-pukes really are this arrogant and stupid. The Dhimmi-crat Party and its fifth columnist apparatchiks have gone full-insurrectionist and are incapable of an internally-imposed ideological course correction and moderating reformation.

Remember how the FBI used facial recognition, bank transaction mining, air travel manifest analysis, etc. to identify those in the Jan 6 incident? Let’s see them do it now.

I know a woman from India that arrived in the US–and LA area–just prior to the Rodney King riots.
I asked her about her impression. Response–“this kind of stuff happens in India all the time. The only thing odd was how long it lasted. In India, these sorts of thing last about four hours.”
Obvious question: “Why four hours?”
Answer: “That is how long it takes the Army to show up.”

We should also have a campaign ads for 2028 for which Democrat thinks they’ll run for President. On record defending illegal aliens waving foreign flags while an American city burns. Democrats truly hate anyone who doesn’t feed their totalitarian lust for power over our lives. They are Big Brother.

President Trump should declare the City of Los Angeles in rebellion and utilizing the 2nd amendment raise a civilian militia to maintain peace. I suggest deputizing a nice group of Hell’s Angels from Northern California. They did a great job providing security at the Altamont Festival.

The 2nd amendment does not give the president any powers. On the contrary, it takes some away.

The Insurrection Act would be appropriate here.

I originally posted this over at Victory Girls but I’d like to share with you LI fans.

It would be interesting to see how this pans out when these collectivist idiots think that they can try these tactics in a city in a Rep-wing state. My favorite envisioned scenario would be something like this.

– “Protesters” gather and get themselves embroiled in a scuffle with ICE, DHS and police serving legitimate warrants for arrests of illegals.
– They quickly morph from their “protest” cover to the actual rioters that they are.
– The police are forced to yield the streets to them, but contain them in a small portion (maybe a couple of blocks) of the city.
– The mayor immediately declares a state of emergency, and declares martial law.
– The police use bullhorns, helicopters, and every other method to (literally) read them the riot act, noting that they will be shot on sight if caught in riotous action (breaking into buildings, looting, arson, etc.)
– Three man teams are set up, with a cameraman, a back-up man with bullhorn, and a sniper.
– Each time one of the scum of the earth commits a riotous act they are given a verbal warning to immediately desist and surrender…at night, light ’em up with an intensely focused spotlight. With the cameraman recording it all, give them three warnings, then open fire.
– Lather, rinse, repeat until the rioters are all either dead, wounded, or laying down on the ground with their hands stretched out in front of them.
– Have a couple of semi-trailers around in which to stack the bodies, and another couple to pile in any survivors.
– Identify the dead and then truck the bodies out to a remote (undisclosed) location and bulldoze ’em under.
– Give the survivors a quick-and-dirty court-martial (martial law, remember) using any available video evidence. Any guilty are sentenced to a minimum of tens years of hard labor…we’ve got lots of forests that need work, and lots of brush to be cut on roadsides.

And this is me being nice. I won’t actually believe that we as a people are serious about controlling our cities until they start to deploy belt-feds. Anybody who is stupid enough to actually stick around after a riot act has been read is too stupid to live.

Wanna bet how long they’d keep trying to riot, loot, burn, and murder in a Rep-wing state?

(Yes, this is all over-the-top hyperbole, but it’s a nice thought, isn’t it?)

“But it is important for people to know that even in downtown this is isolated to a few streets. This is not citywide civil unrest taking place in Los Angeles. A few streets downtown, it looks horrible.”

Well, of course it is. That’s how it is planned. Start small and invite the MSM to make it seem bigger than it really, then wait for others to spontaneously join in while igniting sympathy in the heart of the average citizen. That’s how the organizer comes out clean, while making it look like an organic outburst of the will of the people.

While I can understand Trump’s desire to nip these organizers in the bud with a display of force, I wish he and Homan would’ve figured out something more stealth in terms of ICE arrests.

The idiots really need to be ignored.

‘Remain calm! All is well!’

The NG mission is currently confined to protection of Federal Facilities. The ‘streets’ are still the responsibility of Mayor Bass and Gov Newsom to police and the evidence shows; looting, riots, arson, disorder, violent attacks on LEO and so on. IOW the failure remains on Bass and Newsom.
